That is probably an old story that has been discussed but I stumbled over it only today. I bought one of Big Dazza's 6538s although I am not a Rolex guy (but always like the 6538 for some reason). That encouraged me to read a little more about the 6538. And then I found this: http://tempus-machina.com/pages/the-story
Funny if I think about it. All the watches I had problems with at one point in time were GENS. All reps I own have worked without a glitch for years. Plus if you really have a problem instead of wracking your brain about what could be wrong, with the movements being so cheap you simply order a new movement and swap it. Try that with a gen.
You took the words right out of my mouth. Women usually do care about the clothes or shoes you wear but don't give a [censored] about your watch. Most women cannot distinguish a cheap fashion watch from an AP Tourbillion, but they see in an instant whether your shoes are clean or not. So my advise would be to care more about your outfit and have a shower than wreck your head about which watch to wear.
Hm...which makes me think that it makes a lot of sense to rep the housing of this thing and the bracelet. Thus you can convert a cheapie version to a full blown celebrity rich man's status symbol. I guess you will need some special tools to open it, but hey....
Thx. Very interesting, and I stand corrected. German customs are crazy though especially where I live. Recently I had to pay import tax for a piece of soap that I "imported".
