  1. Everyone is correct. You will need to remove the movement, clean the case, and the movement. They don't fog unless they have been wet.
  2. Thats odd, I have one with the exact same serial number!! LOL
  3. can you post a picture of your clasp and the measurement, I think I have the correct one
  4. I recommend throwing the 2846 in the trash. I too have never had any luck, even with new ones. I recommend the 2879 on ebay under eta movements. I have used several and been very satisfied. I do recommend that you lightly oil them when you recieve it.
  5. Yes of course, 36,000 bph is what I call "very high beat" on self destruct mode LOL, but very smooth
  6. 2824 is high beat. That means 28,800 bph, beats per hour, Everything lower than that is considered low beat. It could be 25,200 21600 19800 etc
  7. I have yellow gold but not rose gold. I do gold plating. They do offer rose gold plating solution, however the request for rose gold is nearly non existance. The plating solution is right at 200.00 not worth buying for a rose gold job every 10 years. I have seen some trusted dealers offering rose gold.
  8. One way to tell is the main spring tub. The eta has a machined look to it. If you loop it you will see the grooves. The asian is more of a stamped look. The escape wheel has a support under the pallet fork. It is silver, you will see it under the balamce wheel, it is much larger on an asian. As for the parts interchanging, not really. The asian parts are made to far less tolerances than the swiss. Although they resemble each other, the asian parts don't really work as well, if at all. I have each in my cabinet, but they are cased. Tomorrow I will remove the backs and send you a side by side picture.
  9. I have replaced some caledar wheels on some old models, and if I remember correctly, the window in the old style was just a tad to the inside of the new dials. Hope this will help
  10. If you are asking is the distance between the date wheel and the bottom of the dial the same, it is very close to the same on all models.
  11. The ones that hold the tabs on an eta movement should work, I believe they are the same size.
  12. I make datejust, both stainless and stainless and gold. Higher quality means the quality of the parts used. Some cases are not waterproof while others are. Some cases don't accept the eta 2836-2 while others are made specificaly for the 2836-2 Some bracelets are much better construction than others. Yes there can be a huge difference between two watches that appear to be the same.
  13. I sent a pkg from Dallas Tx, to Canada nov 27th. That evening it showed where it was posted and sent to sorting center. Since then there have been no updates. I went to the post office to ck why, and he said priority mail does not update untill it reaches Canadian customs. He said it takes between 6-10 working days, not including wekends, for that to happen, maybe longer. Has anyone else experienced slow shipping from the US to Canada. What should I expect
  14. Most likely refinished. Could have been relumed years ago buy some small dial refinisher. Of course the back should have numbers on it, if not, for sure rep. If so, could have started out as something other than a sea dweller. Certainly not an original finished sea deweller, which would make it easily worth 600.00 and more.
  15. I have them. You should have called me and I would have included 1 with your watch. I can mail you tomorrow if you want
  16. Nope, no pics. That was just a personal observation we made, to satisfy our own curiosity. Next time we'll share
  17. I agree with everyone, this is not the most desirable watch. Save your money and find a 40mm, then you have something
  18. Boys, Boys tis the season!! Poor irolexu, I'll bet if he ever gets another deal like this one, he won't post it on any of the forums. LOL Look everyone, I know irolexu, he is an honest man, he does a lot of watch business, and I must say his integrity is in tact. I know the whole story, and he was as honest about it as anyone could be. He was in the right place at the right tme and had a fist full of dollars in his pocket. End of story. I'll tell you what was interesting, we laid the gen next to a rep that we had, and I got to tell you, we were shocked at how good the rep was, it was truly amazing
  19. They will not fit an eta movement. You can find some nice hands for your eta with superlume or not, probably right here on this forum
  20. It is gen, and the correct dial. With the bid at 150 you will probably have to spend close to 250 to get. Why don't you buy it and have it sent to you so you can approve it, and then forward it to me.
  21. I build DJ. The rehaut engraving started sometime in 06. I don't recall seeing a oyster bracelet with a polished center link before that, unless it was replaced. However they may have made some in 06 with that bracelet while they were transitioning to the engraved rehaut. The case I use all have the engraved rehaut and 18k on the lugs. I remove the 18k and use an oyster bracelet with polished center links. that fit between the lugs. The best way to go is with a gen dial, that will allow it to be cked thourghly by your friends and they won't be positive if it is or isn't.. However on the buckle, new style, is 72200, thats not the correct number for a new style buckle, other than that, it looks great.
  22. The hair spring is broken. That is a part you should be able to source. Remember, It has got to be the exact hairspring for that movement, oterwise you will never be able to regulate the watch. If you get the wrong one it will run to fast or to slow. For a smith, not a big job.
  23. The 7750 seems to have a stop gremlin built in! The last time it works is the day after it leaves the factory. LOL
