  1. Yes, an interesting read. This model creeps ever further up the want list. Thanks Andy.
  2. Well thought out, crafted and executed - They should be some happy customers...Thanks for sharing.
  3. Great to see every little step of this project. Looking great so far. Thanks for posting and keep up the good work dutch.
  4. My word that's a statement! Thanks for chiming in on this, it really does seem to be a beast of a watch.
  5. There is a noob factory modern sub update in the development pipeline, so fingers crossed. As for the SSD this seems to be the undisputed champion for now. Not sure that anyone else has anything close out of the box on sale or in development. Please chime in if anyone knows differently. Apologies for high jacking your gorgeous photo thread Doc!
  6. Phew! But you are right SGT - BP have updated their new style ceramic date and no date subs. New dials (correcting the spacing) and bracelets (clasp issues) supposedly.... Arguably BP make the best out of the box modern subs and SSD now. Noob factory this is a call to arms! What have you got to better these BP offerings?
  7. I thought it was the new style ceramic BP Subs that had the 'officially certified' word spacing issue?
  8. Sead or 'supermirrors' has them... http://www.rwgforum.net/topic/158754-bp-factory-newest-sea-dweller-pics/#entry1228046
  9. Love to see how this stacks up against the Jackjo modded SSD2. It looks like a contender. I'm going to buy one just to put it in the ring with JJSSD, let them fight it out. I will probably share the results...
  10. This looks like the new updated 'BP' version that Is being discussed on the sister forums. Loads to shout about. Pearl and bezel of a rare rep quality, crown guards shaped to near perfection, super lume acting like a cherry on top. A beaut mate! Bracelet the only major complaint. At 128 usd for the 21j (mind the off centre date wheel with this movement) it's a bargain. Thanks for sharing Doc, wear her in the very best of health.
  11. And the winner is........NOOBenstein! Welcome. Great forum call sign BTW. I'd start with a bit of research If I were you...Before anyone has a real dig at you! Use the search bar up above (Or Google) and research TC, WM9, BP, NOOB - All of these are names of people and factories that make some of the best subs. Good luck - and a word of advice - you wont get anywhere without some research and reading. We all started where you are now my friend - no-one can learn for you. You are lucky I have given you this much.....
  12. This is taking too long..... Doesn't it always?
  13. Nice pick up. PM me if you get bored.
  14. I would say that you may want to check the QC pics in more detail with any future purchase's. The dial looks off to me. Welcome to the fun house brother Choo!
  15. I agree with Freddy. How many times have you suspected yet NOT called someone out. Do people even call people out? It takes some balls and a particularly rude character to be the person to make a direct call out on a stranger, even on an aquaintance. Socially, I'm not sure many of us would even want to be that type of individual. To that end, I agree with freddy once more - there are a growing number of us 'silent' out there. I see guys wearing what I suspect to be a rep and the first thing I think? "I wonder if they are on the forum circuit, hell I wonder if I know them". You never know. Personally, It would not even dawn on me to engage someone to seek authenticity confirmation on their watch. To be honest who cares if their watch is rep or gen? I don't. As long as the watch is carried off well by the wearer...
  16. And if by any chance you swing by Shanghai, drop me a line. Good luck! You are sure to enjoy the change in culture...
  17. Fantastic attention to the details - you really have the curse! Great review, lovely watch. Thank you very much indeed sir. Keep them coming.
  18. That is a funny thread over at the geek....Fooled!
  19. In fact if all the Taobao venders were like our TD's you'd be in business. Good english on their behalf, PayPal accounts to boot...good to go...Dream on I'm afraid.
  20. For now that's exactly what you are. Unfortunately. Either taobao goes international, which is unlikely as it relies on vendors English language skills....or you learn mandarin! Or have a friend that speaks mandarin. Id imagine you could negotiate overseas postage with a vendor, if you can get over the mandarin hurdle. I'm sure many do.
  21. Taobao is a great resource. But difficult to use unless you are lucky enough to have a chinese local credit card and a local Chinese friend to purchase, as the vendors have little or no English capability. In this way I've sourced a few bargains, as you have shown in the thread. Although not as cheap as you are saying...I think you are right with the decimal there... Google chrome does translate some mandarin, but it's sketchy at best.
