  1. why don't you open up the case back and have a look?
  2. Good lord...40-50 reps...what the heck are you doing with that many watches...sell some to me..
  3. I don't have the 2 Simona straps you've got V but I've got just about every other one and absolutely love them...in fact, they are all I have and wear at the moment. If you haven't had an opportunity to try a Simona strap, you're missing out... Nice straps btw...
  4. It will take a bit a leg work but I'll bet you'll find a local watchsmith to repair your reps. Nobody knows our reps like Zig but any decent watchsmith can perform basic servicing to movements. Will it be a complete tear down like Zig does, probably not...but chances are there is someone in your home town that can get done what you need. Just be cool about it. Besides, with the state of the US economy, I would imagine watchsmiths would work on just about anything. (speaking of watchsmiths within the states of course). Of course mods are a different story.
  5. It's funny, I was just pondering the same idea about 30 minutes ago...I've got an Asian 6497 that is just sitting here & not being used...perfect for something like this.
  6. I'd be down to drive up to 15-20 minutes away from downtown Seattle... Let's try to put something together on early Sunday afternoon...does that work? Throw back a couple of beers...or bottles of wine.
  7. Too bad, I know there are some locals up there though...that can sneak away for a beer and some watch talk...bump
  8. Gonna be in Seattle (downtown) June 7th & 8th. Anybody care to get together for a mini GTG?
  9. Haven't been able to take this 188 off my wrist...

    I

I personally do not think it's all that bad. The non SEL bracelet is correct for the no date sub so you should be glad it's not the same as on josh's site. And judging from the fact that the minute hash marks are touching the rehaut, the case appears to be the same as the one pictured on the site too...which looks to be decent. The crown is [censored] and doesn't look like the one pictured but that's an easy fix. Perhaps take some better pics of the cg and crown for us.
  11. Simply insane!
  12. Nice...
  13. Totally understand!
  14. The work that was done on those lug holes is amazing...great to see this project in the works...if you at all able to source a date whell iwth the open 6 & 9s, let me know...that's all I need for my franken 16800...
  15. What a great story. We don't have any children yet but I can just imagine what an amazing moment you wife and you shared. It will be something you'll both remember forever...not to mention for your son too. Congratulations
  16. Hey Jay, Check to see that the movement clamps are long enough...it may be that they are too short and not catching under the case/movement holder. This was the case with my 188 and I had to put longer clamps in. Any watchmaker should have them for you.
  17. It will be mine, oh yes, it will be mine...lol Nice pick up!
  18. Very nice 188... But tell me, where did you get that case back? Mine is exactly like yours sensa the series number.
  19. Hey, Congratulations on the gen 188. I'd be willing to send you mind for a comparison thread/photo let me know.
  20. Kids are only allowed if they're sporting reps...
  21. The strap is a Simona Vintage Green...super soft...amazing strap!
  22. Finally got around to taking some pics of my 188 this morning. Most of you know this piece and the incredible deal I got from Carlsbadrolex. Just a note, CBR is the most stand up member I've dealt with...and I've traded countless watches with countless members...and he still takes the cake...no b*llshit . The 188 was acting a bit funny after I bought it from him, and he insisted that he pay to have it tuned up. Even after practically giving it to me. Got it done at his watchmaker in a days time. I've never dealt with a member who "put his money where his mouth is" more than Carlsbadrolex...period. Now to the watch...I know it's changed several SoCal hands in the recent past so if any of you have anything to add, please do so. It's got every mod imaginable and is of course powered by the 7753...yes the date wheel sit a little low in the window but hey, if that's the only flaw...that is more than fine with me... Enjoy
  23. Well it went for $2700 so I hope the seller realizes this before he sends payment.
  24. I shipped 2 UPOs back to Precious Time because of the wrong movement...and he is one of the better dealers. His communication was great and he eventually made good on the deal but it took nearly 4 months and $$$ in shipping fees. Not to mention it was incredibly frustrating. The fact of the matter is that ETA are indeed drying up. It's been no secret that UPO's and probably several other watches are shipping with a different movement than what's advertised. A very small percentage of us open them up and check it out though so there's no way to verify this. I bet many of us would be amazed to find what's beating inside our cases.
