Guys I received the new Pearl from BK today (many thanks BK) and fitted using slow set epoxy as advised. Whilst I was playing the other day finishing the case I polished off the bezel edge and polished her. So the bezel is DLC's on the front around the ceramic and polished on the side adjacent to the case. I am delighted with the result and with the pearl now regular with blue lume, polished bezel edge and cyclops this is now a truly unique watch. Best regards AJ

Good top be vigilant of course, as for the member you mentioned, he certainly looked suspicious. Regards AJ

I think your comment is too general and indeed due diligence should be undertaken, gift or no gift as PP can be used fraudulently. As I have learnt quickly here, buy the seller first then the watch, we recently exposed Messi10 and got him banned, if you know of guys pulling tricks you must also do the same to protect us all. Regards AJ

Basic Due diligence(DD) on a member should provide comfort, posts, feedback, location and so on however it never ceases to amaze me the amount of posts saying 'where you located' or 'where do you ship from' when all you have to do is go to the members own page to see the details. Reputations are hard to get right, very, very easy to get wrong, ask Messi Regards AJ

Stick to our trusted dealers as we know what we will get and in truth as the old adage says, you gets what you pay for. Regards AJ

Have a look at my PAM 029 in the sales page, this watch owes me nearly $1200 (compared to gen it is really inexpensive) however in the rep world its towards the upper end cost wise for sale at $1000. The way I look at it is this, if the watch, ie case, dial, hands etc are very good and you get a great, serviced Swiss movement and put her on an OEM strap or similar you're well on your way to a great timepiece inexpensively. In truth, if we took a standard £5k Rolex for example, sure you'll get good quality however that price is greatly inflated by the various levels and costs of manufacture, middle men, marketing, shop overheads, sales staff and profit, the real cost will be a small percentage of the sale price.I guess one pays their money and makes their choice.Dont get me wrong, if I could have my several Roger Dubuis and IWC's including minuter repeater back I would, cut the cloth to fit currently Regards AJ

Welcome to RWG, it's great that you found us. I live just outside London and joined as it says circa a year and a half ago having spent many £tens of thousands on gens I wanted to see what the fuss was all about. Like you I bought a few along the way in Thailand, Turkey, New York and so on, however can guarantee that the Trusted Dealers (TD's) is the place to buy from with some really great watches. After a while you might, like I and many others before me go Franken, ie modding the replicas to an even higher/closer spec utilizing gen parts. This is quite the norm sequence of events and is great fun if not a tad expensive, my latest PAM 127 will owe me $2k however has gen parts including crystal, JV strap and amazing sweet Swiss movement. Enjoy your time and prepare to learn heeps from some really knowledgeable experts, I have and am very grateful, they know who they are. Regards AJ

Opinion: DSSD/ SD vs Sub 116610/16610 rationales
astonjenks replied to rjk's topic in The Rolex Area
Personal taste is what it's all about. Take my Baron the limited run of 10 PB DSSD's that he created with removed CG's and blue second hand and pearl, I've added a cyclops as the date is so tiny and I personally associate the whole cyclops deal with Rolex, personal taste as I say AJ- 7 replies
