  1. Sorry to hear about your bills and selling these beauties Pho. The photo is great; I wonder how you did to have all three watches focused. Each time I try to picture two it's coming horrible The watches and straps combo are beautifull too of course Cheers Stephane PS: sorry if I missed this post before
  2. @all Couple of questions: - I have one modder I would love to complain about but I'm the only one willing to: should I do so? (I was so happy when the watch arrived ...and it took months to realise it was a piece of shit that I had to have fix and rebuild with a friend of mine here) - Ziggy posted several times about "bad work" done by guys like RBJ or FF ...did anybody listen ? (No I send one of my watch to FF and when I got it back it was in such a state that it needed a total fixing by another friend of RWG.
  3. @Chief. I understand you are aware of claims from the members about Jakub and you do not diclose them. That is 100% normal. What I do not understand is why the members who had reasons to complain did not post more often and make these highly visible by bumping them. I mean if one to three problems occurs within a year, I would not want to crucify a modder of course. But when so much problems happen like cyclopes falling off, date wheels not working, hands bent, it's our role as members to post warnings. If everyone had posted a warning, we would maybe have 25 or 30 of them which would have saved other members from the current disaster. And yes, there is only so much the Admin team can do. Certainly not prevent a scam when the entire community seems so happy to finaly find a EU based modder. Remember, in the begining, everything is perfect in a relationship...only time makes it trully trustable.
  4. Very well said b16a2 ! I would add "even with the ones who are very well known. If something goes dramaticaly bad in someone's life, he will eventually disappear, known or not.
  5. Since I saw yours, I'm wondering whyI don't have one yet It's growing...
  6. Great to hear. I would seriously consider coming to Ireland to have one of mine serviced! Here in the Benelux it is not possible at all.
  7. One more fantastic watch TMG! Back to Rolex today.
  8. Like Rolex001 says! Do not send that watch under any circumstances to Rolex Service Center. It will come back as a great white with the latest modern parts including crystal, crown and tube, dial, and over polished case and bracelet. In some parts of the world (in mine for sure) you do not even have the choice. My AD send the watch to Rolex with my desires but it could aswell come back completely new. In the case of your DRSD you should opt for a restorer, not an AD.
  9. Oh yes ! One was for sale by my trusted dealer at 37.500 euros ! By the way, I too have a gen superdome for sale
  10. That is a true beauty. I never looked at Tag as a possible choice for me. But this one is very very nice, specialy with the AR. It makes me think of the Ingy: simple, elegant, confortable. I didn't see this model before . Thanks for the review and time spent Great photos aswell. Cheers Stephane
  11. Funny to see the thread of a year ago. I learned a lot more since then Going UPO crystal free for this monday.
  12. Great Topic idea I'm too young on the forum to state what a Franken is but I sincerely feel that lately a simple rep with a gen crown became a "Franken". I do not consider it as a Franken at all though. So this need to be clarified for the even fresher new comers to this community. I'm looking forward to what veterans have to say. My definition has already been posted. A Franken is a watch you cannot identify as a rep because it's so close or because you must put it in pieces to see all parts individualy. In example, a very good rep case with gen case back - gen dial - gen hands - gen crown - gen crystal - gen bracelet - crown guards shaved to perfection or gen for Pams is a true Franken. You must open it to see that the movement isn't genuine. But a rep with only a gen movement isn't a Franken either.... JustMy2euroCents Stephane
  13. At 30K I'd rather get myself a Great White + a 1680 White ! But, I must admit that with a Vintage Jean and a tee it might look nice...but then again, 30K? Thanks for sharing the photos By-Tor.
  14. I agree with you and with Bruce. Mine seems to already have increased in 1 year. The 16600 is a fantastic watch where the Deep Sea is "too much" of everything. Too much writings, too fat, stupid little bracelet, ... You cannot go wrong with a SeaDweller but you might have to wait for 2 generations to see the DeepSea become "valuable".
  15. Oh, I'm the modest owner and wearer, so my expertise is very limited. Some friends here are Rolex Gurus and I'm only their pupil! But, I have my own opinion of course: accurancy in the various parts is not important (because of RSC replacements) and scratches are A MUST. How the hell could a 40 years old watch look as new as the latest Rolex one buy from an AD today?
  16. Great move! You'll love it. Don't forget to scratch it a bit
  17. After a Ingy MidWeek, back to some vintage for today
  18. Another one here please I agree Ubi. I am not bored because I have two projects that aren't finished yet, but we've not seen a lot of "great" new watches since a while. Actually the Super Ocean Heritage is one I just bought and I'm curious to see what it will look like when it lands. I sincerely think you should go and check that one at an AD. It's a beauty. Cheers Stephane
  19. Sincerest condolences R. We boys stay little boys forever and loosing a mother is trully a difficult moment to face. Be assured I am with you in thoughts. Met vriendelijk groeten, Stephane
  20. By-Tor is in love! By-Tor is in love! By-Tor is in love!
  21. Well, today I went with a friend to pick up his gen Super Avenger and tried another Breitling... So, you can start to feel guilty as I think I'm going to buy a Breitling rep now!!!
  22. Now that you mention it, I agree. Between both worlds Very nice watch and thanks for taking the time to show it to us Cheers Stephane
  23. Amazing review! Thanks for your time and efforts. I'm not a Breitling fan but your review almost sold me to the watch Cheers Stephane
  24. So I guess I can say "You know what, ...I'm happy!"
