  1. I'm afraid that this flaw is widespread. Did you not get QC photos?
  2. Welcome to the forums, and greetings from Finland You appear to have posted duplicate threads. Keep this one, and I'm sure your other will be pruned soon.
  3. What movement is in it? Have you tried inserting the stem, then whilst gently pushing in, turning the crown clockwise to see if the clutch/gears engage?
  4. I loved my Tag Heuer Carrera Day Date CV2A10 so much I frankened the hell out of it. Its not 99% gen Not really cost effective to be honest, but was a lot more fun building it than just buying a used gen for the same cost.
  5. Welcome to the forums Greetings from Finland!
  6. Maybe pm a mod, or admin, or mike on a mike.
  7. Wear the watch for a week, only removing it for a shower each day etc, and keep an eye on its performance. If still no better, or even if worse, then I would say the choice you need to make is either get it serviced, or risk sending it back to China. I personally would avoid the latter.
  8. Congrats, I'm in for one of these too but with cyclops.
  9. Lovely elegant dial my friend, you did the right thing, saving it, and keeping it as intended, used in a wonderful case, resulting in a beautiful timepiece
  10. Congrats, you have been busy, well done!
  11. How do you know the movement is trash?
  12. No, not yet, just collecting prices for a project I have in mind
  13. I will have a few practises with my drill press once it arrives with old cases I have lying about, and take on board the great advice, and tips on carrying out such work also. I think with a combined drill press set up correctly, with a mating fixable vise, I'm half way there in achieving the goal. I have several means of taking measurements, micrometer, calliper etc, so lets see how I get on.
  14. Sounds like it needs a service, as its undoubtably either dirty, too much oil/WD40/pube infested.
  15. I'm guessing there's no chance of any of today's TD's carrying out such a tick box QC check list.
  16. True, I had to get Scott to extend my login for another 30 days so I can see prices.
  17. I know this is an old thread but I was hoping you could help me. I have been looking on startime for ages, but for the life of me, I cannot find any watch case sets on there. Do you have a link?
  18. Thanks for the tips auto, I have also invested in HSS drill bits, and a good drill press vise which can be secured to the drill press table.
  19. Do you know what version your AP Diver is?
  20. I have a drill press arriving this week. Give me some time to practise, and get used to it, and I will consider taking the work on, but from my understanding, its a very difficult task to carry out in order to drill exactly to mate with the already drilled internal lug holes. I have often, and even looked into dentist type angled drills which would make drilling lugs easier, but alas not found a positive solution.
  21. Very nice Happy Birthday Mart mate
