  1. iRolexU, Very well played. Good score and it sounds like you decided to sell it so good job on the profit margin. Nothing wrong with it.
  2. Agree. One of the easiest tells regarding inserts is the orientation of the numbers whether they are fat font or thin. Genuine inserts, the numbers curve EVER so slightly in orientation so that when viewed they don't appear to curve away from the crystal (most evident on the 30/40/50). Most rep inserts the numbers are printed in a straight line which in turns means they appear to curve away from the crystal.
  3. 16610 bezels have more defined teeth then a 16800 bezel. Same part but teeth depth is different. 14060 bezels are slightly thicker and are smaller in diameter then a 16610.
  4. Just the angle of the date in the cyclops. It's all good.
  5. Yeah. It's the angle. Distortion due to the curve of the cyclops. I love the domed crystal with cyclops of the t116. Yeah. It's the angle. Distortion due to the curve of the cyclops. I love the domed crystal with cyclops of the t116. @Polexpete Yeah. It's the angle. Distortion due to the curve of the cyclops. I love the domed crystal with cyclops of the t116.
  6. Don't have a 1675 but do have a 16750. Love me some quick set. Here are the specs: Gen case Gen bezel Gen insert Gen dial Gen hands Gen bracelet Gen crystal Gen movement
  7. Rumour has it that the Canadian Military stamps a serial number into the caseback. There have been a few examples pop up over the years. Problem is that there is no concrete way to validate the claim thus canadian military subs are not viewed with any true collectable military provenance and are viewed as just a standard 9401 in the eyes of many collectors. That is the reason he was having a hard time selling it at the higher price point (IIRC, he started the auction at $3900 then reduced it to $3399) before settling on the $2900 it currently sits at.
  8. Second hand has been relumed. Seller says it is from Canadian Navy. Take that for what it is. Without provenance no way to prove a military history and thus the caseback is engraved. Nice 9401 though. The relumed second hand and the engraving on the back (without provenance) will hurt value in the eyes of many collectors. Add on top the fact that he's had to drastically reduce the price and you get the idea of its true value. I considered making an offer prior to trading my 16700 for a 16750.
  9. Prefer the lug hole subs. If you have to go "modern" sub, I say go for 16800. Sapphire, matte dial, and can take the 93250. Best of both worlds.

    Original?

Looks legit to me but with a mid 70-80's relume.
  11. If you can confirm the service Nd who did it I would buy for that price.
  12. Buying from eBay is good if you do research on a watch. Look for those priced slightly too high over market and see if it is a store selling it. All the gen Tudors and Rolex I got that way. Typically for a lot less then a forum purchase. If thy say serviced, ask to have a photo of paperwork set to you. Otherwise stay away.
  13. That turned out great. The minor work on the case is all you really need like others have said. I'm with you regarding the AR crystal. I have one on my 16800 as well. Regarding bracelets, the 93250 can be purchased as an option from Rolex to replace the 93150. My AD told me as much. As you can tell they fit. I'd source a gen 93250 personally and use the rep till you do. I have one on my 16800. Cost 900 but worth it. The only other change I recommend is a Dssd clasp to fit to the 93250. Then it is pure money. The only rep parts on my gens. 2 use Dssd rep clasps and the other uses a 116610 rep clasp. This pic shows the ar crystal and the 93250.
  14. Major issue with your scenario. Rolex will no longer allow AD's or independents install bezels or bracelets. Any bracelet purchase/replacement, dial replacement and/or bezel replacements are to be done by an RSC only. AD's are instructed to send the watches to RSC at AD's expense for the proper work. Inserts, crystals, hands are ok. AD's and independents are now supposed to keep records of the serial #'s for the watches that the hands are replaced on. Hands are order only. This info comes from two different sources. The AD I used and an independent. The independent was able to get me hands for my 1680 but my 1680 is now on file with RSC as having the hands replaced. To get a spare bezel, I would have had to take my 16800 to the AD who would send it to RSC for bezel replacement. IIRC, the quote came in at $150. I ended up sourcing a bezel on my own for $190. It is much easier to get parts from Rolex AD's and independents everywhere else besides the US. Some places are harder then others. Easier are places like the UK, Germany, and Australia. It is common to see parts from sellers located in these countries. They are able to turn a high profit on harder to find items. some items though are not that much more expensive then if you bought them in the network though you lose your originals. Take a 1680 service dial. You can sell a service dial on the black market for around $500. Rolex charges $400 in the US and keeps the original. Hands, typically will run around $150. Rolex IIRC charges around $100 and keeps the originals. Inserts, black market it is hard to get them for a large amount over what an AD typically charges which is $100 on average. New bracelets on the black market run around $1000-1200 IIRC. Through an AD it's what, $900-1000 for the older 93150? Harder to find parts will have a significantly larger markup such as LV inserts, dials, hands, etc. as these are now exchange only. Rolex US changed things near the beginning of the year which has made it even harder.
  15. yellow gold since the marker rings are also yellow gold. The dial has no white gold so it would look strange.
  16. WSO is a joke. Returns? HAHAHAHAHA....Wow...my sides are hurting. Pulling a molar without Novocaine is more pleasant. If you buy from this idiot be prepared to do this:
  17. Washer pin bezel. Can be tricky to get it to work with the insert in.
  18. Agree. Not gen. 16610 and 16710 case profiles, retainers and bezels are the same but Cg's are different.
  19. You can also get gmt's for under 4. Picked up a 1st year 16700 with original bracelet for $3300.
  20. You will the same amount for a gen 9411 dial as a 79090 dial. Why ruin a dial when they pop up for both movements and one is backwards compatible?
  21. The service replacement dials for a 9411 are the same triangle dial as the 79090. I can't remember which but a 2784 dial won't fit a 2824 or vice versa due to dial feet thickness.
  22. Either 16800/168000 or a 16610. They went to the short coronet on the later gloss dials so it will work.
  23. I did the same thing the first time I removed the movement from my 5513. I kept turning the screws the wrong way and after a lot of cussing figured it out. Once done I was like "that was it?" Turned out great. Very nicely done.
  24. If you are using a real bezel and a real retaining ring the issue might be that they are from different watches. Wear on the parts will vary and it can be hit or miss trying to fit a bezel to a different retaining ring. Once I owned a Tudor 9411, 1680 and a 5513. I got the bezels mixed up and found that the retaining ring diameter and inner diameter on my 1680 was just slightly smaller then those on the 9411 and 5513. Thus the 5513 and 9411 bezels would fit it but the 1680 bezel would not work on the other watches. The 9411 bezel fit the 5513 but was loose and the 5513 would fit the 9411 with no issues. The 5513 and the 9411 were both from the mid 80's. The 1680 is from the mid-70's.
  25. Beautiful Red. Its brother from another mother says, "sup?"
