I'll upload the PSD/PDF in full color w/ the 2 fonts needed + the black-and-White as helenarou requested it.
The *pdf-files can be opened with Photoshop for further modding. Note that the Rolex-logo is NOT vectorized (I suck at Adobe Illustrator),
-----
Also, my copy has 10% bigger indices:
-
I can send you the psd/pdf-file if you wish... and/or alter the original to 200 / 660
Then send it in vector form (black-and-white) to Helenarou and he'll do the rest, say it's based on the 300/1000-dial.
What are the forum rules about uploading files e.g. PSD / PDF containing logotypes etc?
-
Yeah I''m changing the bezel insert, crown (to Athaya 8mm), hands and dial on this baby. Oh, I almost forgot, domed sapphire too
I've given the dial thing some thought, the easiest is just contact helenarou and say that you want to use the "Tempus Machina" or 300/1000-dial and then he'll help you customize it further if you wish...
Regarding helenarou and Rolex original calibers, there is a 26mm and 29mm dial, I'm using the 29 (on the modern sub), but maybe a 26 mm with different dial feet would be something that he could do...
Check!

I can talk to helenarou and see if I can get a discount. Anyone else interested?

I love this watch, today a good seller presents a rep that has a good apparence
In your opinion, is it a good rep or is preferible a standard steel watch ?
I would never invest in a gold repllcia of any watch... (unless it's only small accents, e.g. gold indices on dial)
1) It doesn't look like real gold
2) It makes the questioning wether it is real or not even stronger
3) It's "too much"
Why don't you take that cash and buy a BK Noob Smurf instead? A lot more bang-for-the-buck

Really really nice!
Do you know what size the bezel insert is? I'm buying a similar case and was wondering which stock bezel inserts (from other vendors) that will fit...

I just saw your thread on homageforum... You can't just drop a bomb like that and then [_______________] (silence).
Do you have any step-by-step. What is needed? Do you take orders?
All the best,
Valentin

And this process can't/won't be made on sterile 29 mm brass dials?

Crystal news:
Some updates, I'm now checking wether this one might fit:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/29-5mm-Sapphire-Crystal-Watch-Crystals-Double-Domed-Height-2-8mm-x-Thick1-8mm-/301719925440
Instead of the stock crystal.Big Crown:
Also a Big Crown from Adrian @ Athaya is on the way
1 x 8mm brevet crown = 35USD
1 x 1.20 to 0.9 stem adapter = 2.5USD -
I can highly recommend a AP 33mm RO, fantastic quality whilst pretty discrete.
Check the TD e.g. Toro.

So, since I feel that this forum might be a place for me to reside, I felt that I should take the time to introduce myself...
How does one start? What makes up a person? Age? Line of work? Interests? Don't think so. I'll start by saying that life could have gone very bad for me, but somehow I overcame. As a young adult I was struck by the disease that Queen described the best in "I Want It All". I wanted everything. I was the center of the world. Everything that stood in my way was a challange that I should conquer, just because that might lead to happiness. From the outside I guess that I was successful. But on the inside I felt empty. I had a high paid job in mechanical engineering. I had all the "stuff". I had the looks and the chicks. Yeah, I know... Either you loved me or you hated me, but I guess I was a douchebag.
Then I got really sick and almost died. Long story. It was an awakening. Not in the spiritual/religious way. But I decided to try to be a better person. I understood that the only thing we leave behind is eventually helping ones peers to realise their full potential. I wanted to be a good future husband, father, man. I redid my education and before finishing my M.D. I also met the love of my life.
I am now a must humble person. I know that people that try to describe themselves as humble, or feeling the need to convince their peers of that fact tend to be the opposite. I've learned the difference between doing something because you love it or doing it because of fear of the opposite.
So what do I love? My wife is my family and she is always no. 1. Thereafter we have work and working out. I try to find a good balance between the two. Physical and psychical challanges are of great importance. And last we have the hobbies. As time is scarce I could sum it up to, Hi-fi (mostly headphone amplifiers and modded headphones, that's where my DIY-interest started); Cigars (although I've reduced my collection of cigars from >1000 to a handful of boxes); Cars; and last but not least small gadgets, e.g. watches.
My watch interest started with an Omega Constellation (gen). I received it as a gift from loved ones. Since I wanted something more sportier I purchased a lousy 21J Daytona in full Rose Gold (hahaha...). Then we had a burglary and a lot of stuff, headphone-related and all jewelry disappeared. This was 2 years ago. I got [censored] and decided to never purchase anything that expensive again. Shortly after I purchased a UN Maxi Diver. Feeling that it was a bit bulky last summer I bought a Sub-C Hulk, that actually arrived DOA and Micky repaired. Then little by little the interest (mainly Oyster-Rolexes) evolved. Now suddenly I find myself in the process of building a Tempus Machina rep, and I love it.
I hope to receive and to give to this forum. VIP felt like something quite important since I was so well received here. No hostility, but patience friendliness. My kind of place.
So that's me... Questions?
Cheers from Sweden,
holo

The dial is going to be your biggest culprit. I didn't fully understand (and appreciate) what a gilt dial REALLY looked like till I got one. I can post some shots side by side with a traditional whoopy "gilt" dial so you can see the difference... True gilt as you all know is a multi-step process involving a gold plate and chemicals to create a negative relief - the gold shines through and depending on the lighting can appear gold all the way to a negative dark gray almost black.. a regular rep gilt dial has no such reflection and leaves a lot to be desired... The Tempus is the sexiest watch I've seen in years but until we can find a good source for the dial I feel it'll be a half-@ss attempt no matter how we do it..
1) Yeah.. the dial. I'm thinking of either doing it 100% or not at all. I have a feeling that settling for a "custom" HR dial is still going to cost me 150USD+ and still not be 100%. Do you have any contact info to cc33/the nameless one?
2) Does anyone have any idea of a DSSD-type domed crystal (the SD4000 is good, but the form is more similar to a acrylic in curvature) but that'll fit a 40mm sub?

Hi Mecko! It looks like a reflection from the camera. Other than that the dial seems to have the expected sparkly shimmer. I can't see any issues with the pic, but I'm no YM-expert...

Hi guys!
Thanks for all the input and ideas. I'm glad to hear that similar projects have been started. Also yeah... The biggest problem will be the dial and bezel assembly.
I'm actually considering using the bezel assembly with insert and hands + dial from a 116613LN. I've tried to modify the stock bezel assembly to a coin edge, but failed miserably. Trying to do it by hand with a dremel was a bad idea. This might be a "cheap"/"simple" alternative: 116113LN BP or Noob whichever has the best bezel + dial with TC DWO (inverse) + TC sapphire + Yuki or Athaya crown + modded midcase.
- However... isn't it too much brass/gold-ish? Or?
- Does athaya still sell the 8mm big crown? Or why do several builds (e.g. PBDAD) use the much much more expensive Yuki?
But looking at it I realize how important the colored dial is... Helenarou's dials are great, but quite pricey and still not "true" gilt. I might be able to live without the coin edge bezel, but the dial...
- Anyone knows how to get in contact with cc33?
This is my current progress ( the lighting was very bad, so the chamfered edges look beveled instead)
- Any thoughts? Suggestions?
Tempus Machina replica, how would you do it?

Fill it with some epoxy, and then enamel easy way)
Best would be, I think I would try to cut/mold up a raised triangle in some suitable material, epoxy it in, and then polish it to a good geometry and last but not least enamel paint over.
