As I assume many of the forums are, I am always looking for gen parts and have had similar results. Not long ago thought I had a 1016 dial for a decent price and in the last 10 minutes bidding went crazy and price increased by several hundred $. I have yet to actually score a good deal outside of people I know. Too many people collecting watches.

Yes, it was 8 degrees when I went to the gym this morning. No ****, I have a 6+ and my pics never look that good. I bought a cheesy tripod and clip on macro lens but still not very good. Maybe I just do not have the eye for this sort of thing.

Funny I bought a gen Daytona back in 2003 and only kept less than 2 years. Did not really care for it that much, so I really had not looked at them much since. Now, I cannot seem to get this one off the wrist.

Thanks for the info. I know that road. Starts as a moderate budget built. Then...maybe a gen insert, then a crown, a crystal and next thing you know might as well find a gen dial. The Valjoux movement would be cool. I need to do much research on these before even thinking about trying to do a high end build. Looking forward to seeing what you do. Just ran across this old thread. I am still a metal head. First concert was Peter Frampton in 1976 in the king dome. Listen to most types of music these days but my favorite is still metal.
