It is true and glad you are here. I lurk the other forums, mainly sales areas but this is home. Great bunch of knowledgeable people who share information with each other.
As I assume many of the forums are, I am always looking for gen parts and have had similar results. Not long ago thought I had a 1016 dial for a decent price and in the last 10 minutes bidding went crazy and price increased by several hundred $. I have yet to actually score a good deal outside of people I know. Too many people collecting watches.
Yes, it was 8 degrees when I went to the gym this morning.
No ****, I have a 6+ and my pics never look that good. I bought a cheesy tripod and clip on macro lens but still not very good. Maybe I just do not have the eye for this sort of thing.
Funny I bought a gen Daytona back in 2003 and only kept less than 2 years. Did not really care for it that much, so I really had not looked at them much since. Now, I cannot seem to get this one off the wrist.
Thanks for the info.
I know that road. Starts as a moderate budget built. Then...maybe a gen insert, then a crown, a crystal and next thing you know might as well find a gen dial. The Valjoux movement would be cool. I need to do much research on these before even thinking about trying to do a high end build.
Looking forward to seeing what you do.

That dial is stunning. What are the rest of the specs? Curious on case set and movement with a gen dial. Looks like you are getting close. Good luck.

Are they from George Yeo?
Thank you. Yes 7750. Thought I had a chrono issue but just got it sorted out. I am just learning about vintage Daytonas but I must say I am impressed with this piece. Bought from another forum, but I think I got lucky as the condition and build is excellent. Since I don't know any better I don't see the flaws [emoji41]

Yes!!!! I got the chronos working and setting correctly [emoji123]
Now I really, really love this piece. I think I will just leave them alone now and enjoy her.

Very nice collection [emoji106]
Similar experience here in finding this great place. Although before I figured out I liked vintage pieces I went through about 20 modern ones. I think I am a slow learner....

Just ran across this old thread. I am still a metal head. First concert was Peter Frampton in 1976 in the king dome. Listen to most types of music these days but my favorite is still metal. Maiden, Metallica, Slayer, Queensryche, Sabbath/Ozzy, Zeppelin, and many others. Maiden probably my all time favorite.

6263 arrived yesterday. Very nice piece. Basically brand new. Unfortunately I checked chronos function and cannot get the hour back to 12. May need a spa treatment with Matt.
