New Toro site is toro888.com

Probably the best in my collection:

Excellent choice! !

OP I think you are confusing the V6 with V6s. The one you described is V6s. V6 is an intermediate version, basically a v5 with a new dial. And platinum bezel is there since v5

Hi Andrew, the hands (needles) have the same size on 2824, 2836 and the low beat ones 2842/2846 etc. They are 1.50 x 0.90 x 0.25mm The problem is with the 21j/dg2813 I am not that Italian guy (but still Italian) Cannon height is not a problem: if your 2836 has pinions taller than the 2842 you can just swap them. You more likely find 2842 on the bay. They used it for many Swatch auto. 2846 is much rarer (that's the reason I bought a 2842 and converted to a 2846). In any case the movement will need service as they are minimum 20 years old...
-
Also: to move from 2842 (2824) to 2846 (2836) you just need the main plate and the parts related to date wheel change (and the 2846 use the same parts as 2836 for the date change mechanics).

Cang better if you speak with a moderator of the forum (Nanuq or MikeOnTheBike for example) before openly offer to sell. Anyway: isn't your mail arena1205?? -
Thanks Umpa. Will think about it. At 400$ they are a bit too expensive... Which movement do they have inside?
-
Thanks but... Am I wrong or MBW is not anymore in the market? I kinda remember, if I am not confusing him with someone else, that I have read something regarding watches found from his wife (like if he died few years ago) sold here few months ago... EDIT: found him http://rwg.cc/index.php?/topic/183042-Vintage-Rolex-5512-5513-5514-1680-(Red-or-White) 400$... Geez... =:-o

Hi Cang, welcome I am one of your customer on the bay and off the bay (your blue wallet and custom IWC strap should finally arrive next week: they spent 1 month in the customs here :/ ). Cheers, Alex PS: look at Toro site: http://www.toro888.com/index.php?route=product/special there are good offers on the Noob AP ROO chrono 42&44mm -
I have been searching a good 1665 DRSD from quite some time... I studied the http://www.doubleredseadweller.com/ site and I came to the conclusion that the best one was one of the models Angus had prepared during 2011. Imagine what? Sold out... Some time has passed and in the meantime I purchased a donor Swatch from the nineties with a 2842 (same dimentions of the 2824) that I transformed into a 2846 (same dimentions of the 2836) which I finished to assemble this afternoon. Now I am back on the track to search for the DRSD, and here I am to ask for your help... I looked in the various TD sites but I really don't have the eyes to distinguish between good or bad versions of the same watch... It took me one week just to select the best one from Angus (the sold out one) Would you be so kind to suggest me a good stock DRSD? I won't start a franken project and the idea is to replace just the 2836 with my low beat swiss movement. So the rest should be decent as it comes from the dealer. Eternally thankful, GenTLe.

Stick to trusted dealer mate.

I have used it in the past, but it was leaving some debris on the jewel, and was delicate (easy to snap) Good one! Not all people can easily find such small tubes around
-
Guys, if some of you tinker, you know how it can be difficult to fit back the Swiss novodiac spring, due to the 3 slots in its place: They are not like the Asian where you can fit 2 sides of the spring and push the free one in the single slot. Therefore it is difficult. Well a good way to do it is create a tool. I started from the little copper tube that the fridges use for their thermostat (from a broken thermostat I had around in the lab). Cut and then shaped accordingly, you have a tool that makes the novodiac insertion VERY easy. 5s and the spring is IN: The bergeon tool costs like 40$. [censored] them. Free tool here and being copper doesn't scratch the steel around or the spring Cheers, GenTLe

One spot left in the watch box. What should I fill it with?

A 44mm Pam. Or a 15400 -
They are the same ones. Yes. Here a pic of mine (got it with bracelet and then moved to a strap):

This formula is called wholesale regardless the minimum order. Also tswatches over Rwg.bz were doing the same. Note that the process of qc is the same of Puretime (so pictures, timegrapher etc etc). Currently I am at 6th one from them. The only problems are related to the size of the TD and their fragmentation between commercial/quality/shipment department which sometime makes the communication difficult.
-
As I wrote, read the conditions.
-
Me (and, among others, for this exact watch too). They are Puretime staff so it is like deal with Puretime but with the wholesales conditions (read them).
-
Don't know Matt, not mines I suppose they are in the same place of the standard 7750, just with different functions.
-
Note: this is a post I originally placed on rwg.bz so the references point to that board and the members I nominate are from there. Nevertheless I believe this can interest more than someone here too, so I reposted here So after kennycoder posted this thread here: http://www.rwg.bz/bo...howtopic=113529 I thought that one problem has been solved: now we know that the SWF Portuguese v5 have the new sec @6 7750 with good jeweled transfer gears. But another problem arise: HOW to know if the others are using the same one? So I wrote@Torobravo (thanks to him!!!) asking about this, and he told me that ZF is using a new one too... Starting (apparently) from this one: http://www.toro888.c...product_id=1851 and probably this too: http://www.toro888.c...product_id=1904 Here the pictures. Let's check it together: For comparison this is the old crappy one (tasken from JSJ thread http://www.rwg.bz/bo...showtopic=69834 ): And this the SWF one from kennycoder thread: 1st thing I notice is that both the ZF and the SWF take the movement of the sec @6 from a gear on the left: While the old crappy takes the movement from the top right: Also they both (ZF and SWF) have the central part of the sec @6 pinion gear which looks made in 2 different metals (brass in the middle and some sort of steel in the outer part), while the old crappy has a full brass one. This thing looks promising. Do you nothing something else?
