  1. You pam guys... I've never seen such a simple, plain watch be scrutinized and dissected to bloody anal hell. I could probably 1:1 a CG & lever (my brother in law just so happens to work in a metal production shop with all the trimmings..). You guys still wouldn't be happy. Thats the thing with repsti's, you're worse than the Rolex guys. The short of it, is there's too many reasons not to do this. The negativity and the never good enough attitudes surrounding Pam reps is enough to drive anyone away from touching this. Who are you trying to fool when 99.9% of the population either doesn't know the brand or if they do, are already fooled? Are you afraid some wristi is out there walking around with a micrometer ready to snatch up your wrist for examination? The ironic part is, these are two of the most SIMPLE pieces of metal I've ever seen when you consider how much more elaborate items can be created of its size or smaller. Hell look at a watch movement. I hope you guys get your CG's, I truly do. But in the meantime I hope you enjoy what you've got. Remember that someone here was once told "Stick to gens, no rep will ever make you happy." and ask yourself if you've become that guy, like so many people around here have lately.
  2. can anyone confirm if this is what is needed, add/remove from the list, and confirm the price and minerals comment?
  3. I really can't imagine a little two piece item like that should be that much of a project. Are the schematics and/or measurements for the CG and lever available?
  4. If I could walk out with one right now? I'd take a Deep Sea.
  5. 42mm PO's, best bet is to get a POrikaa (search that term). They're only $100 or so. Just contact Narikaa, a trusted dealer here. The more expensive versions are no better nowadays. welcome fellow NY'r. I'm in FL now though. When I was on Canal st. about 6mo ago, I was not impressed with what I saw. I spent a few hours there and for love nor money couldn't be convinced to buy a single watch.
  6. Awesome! Thanks for this, Zig. Always good to see you around.
  7. I was able to reset my password by putting my username in, then logged in successfully.
  8. That sounds painful. I wonder if Offshore has a few of these to go with his "pressure machine".
  9. Ah, doesn't look like anything I wouldn't do myself. Classic!
  10. So any updates with this thing OS?
  11. My thoughts and prayers are with Barbara. Best wishes my friend.
  12. Yah, the POrikaa's are all A21j (asian 21j). My 42mm POrikka is the perfect size watch. 42mm on my 7" wrist feels excellent. The 42mm is like JKay said a "perfect" fit for most. The 45.5 is a BIG watch, you may not like it. You made an excellent choice. Here's a few of mine, to keep you not so patiently waiting for your POrikka.
  13. Yah, my dad is the same way. If he had it his way he'd be wearing a TT blue sub. I got him a SS Noobmariner. He calls it a Cholex, but secretly we know he loves it. Little does he know how lucky he is to have one of the last noobfactory non engraved rehaut subs. I'm hawking the thing now..
  14. There's no time like the present! Who did you purchase from and what did you get? My birthday present DSSD just arrived, broken. So, after the anticipation, the wait, the post office, the bubble wrap.. comes the disappointment. Then, the PM's to the watch smiths, then another trip to the post office to mail it off to someone to get fixed. More money, more waiting. The anticipation and excitement is really big with these for some reason, and it never go's away. It's true the only thing you can do is distract yourself. If you want, I can put something in the mail for you, so you have something on the way and in hand in a couple of days? It will probably be my dirty draws, but still.. (for a nominal fee, I could probably upgrade that to my wifes dirty draws sent 2nd day air?) Maybe you would prefer random broken watch parts? I have plenty of those, too. Wait I didn't mean to imply I have plenty of dirty draws too. I just meant. Nevermind. Hey look! It's KB!! Makes me feel a little better that I haven't heard anything, today will be day three since I emailed.
  15. Mel, Narikaa has a section here, just have a look- http://www.rwgforum.com/forum/63-narikaa/
  16. Maybe RWG IP banned you. Reset your cable modem/router/pc at home.
  17. The gold will eventually wear off. If he really wants that model, just make sure he understands gold plate by nature has a limited lifespan. Show him the stainless models and try to steer him in that direction, that way he will have a piece that will last as long as he takes care of it. Its the same thing as the stainless (rereading your post, im not sure I get your last question) version, so you would just shop for a SS 3717. I'd recommend going with bracelet and buying the leather strap aftermarket. The rep IWC SS bracelet is excellent, the leather straps are poor.
  18. Holy! When are you going to install crystals in them? That is a serious who's-who of watch collaborators throwing down some serious work on some serious pieces. Seriously. It's serious.
  19. Send some cool air this way. 93 here today. Worked in the garage sweating my teabag off. Hopefully the weather will start to cool down over the next month.
  20. I like it I would have to have it on bracelet, which would make it less busy looking. There are a lot of small details for the rep to potentially fall short on.
  21. OS, you bought a swiss peepee pump?
  22. I feel bad for the unsuspecting buyers. Sadly, not everyone really takes the time to appreciate what they are purchasing enough to even know the difference. The good rep forums and members do everything to provide knowledge of timepieces both genuine and replica, and prevent people from being ripped off.
