  1. Drilled two lug holes today. Had to order bits and an arbor and such from MSC. The first two went reasonably smoothly, but then I got hungry and tired and broke two bits. Now to order 4 more bits, just in case, and try again later in the week. Very happy with the result!
  2. I see the tropic dial in the poster and some age on that - but not on the watch in question which looks like a rep
  3. That is a classy watch! What's the base of the movement? ETA? Sellita?
  4. It's a good effort but $500 is a bit steep... The El Primero 4021 in my genuine Zenith is truly a really beautiful movement. I look at it frequently under a loop...stunning.
  5. The case I have is supposed to be a PCG 5513 - '66 I've attached a pic. I think I'll need to take a stab at this lapping business to create some bevels / chamfers on it going by bane's amazing pictures / work as a guide. Any suggestions as to it are extremely appreciated
  6. I noticed my case doesn't even have bevels... this is very disappointing to me indeed.
  7. very comfortable and very nice!
  8. I have this model that I won in the raffle - it's a quartz so no sunken datewheel nonsense, and the sweep isn't that bad on the chrono... I LOVE IT. Great watch, fit and finish. 1:1 accurate from what I've seen
  9. Good to know! I might need another 5513 case if I screw-up milling out these lug-holes haha
  10. OMG someone stole the inside of your watch!!
  11. IWC Huge Pilot 5002 today. I refer to call it simply "big" haha
  12. Golf dude - I would take your genuine bezel off the Daytona, buy another one, then PVD that secondary one. That way you preserve the integrity of your virgin genuine watch in the eyes of the ROLEX.
  13. One of our more senior members could probably put it together, a replica/franken versus genuine test. Side by Side pics. I've owned Rolex's and other fine watches my entire life, I have genuine Rolex watches and I have really neat frankens that I've cobbled together using genuine movements and genuine parts. It's a really neat hobby, I'd encourage you to not crap on it. I have the money, the knowledge and abilities to buy virtually whatever I want short of Patek's and Vacheron's. You'd be surprised, many members on here do. This is more a forum for free-thinkers, tinkerers, and those interested in seeing what they can create. I'd generally say about 1/10th of the activity on here is "Hey man, where can I get a cheap submariner fake to fool my boss / girlfriends' dad" those people pop in, pop out and don't stick around or contribute. That's why you get hit with such vitriol when you insult what we do, because it's clear you don't understand. There's master watchmaker level expertise here, more knowledge than I ever found over on VRF and knowledge paralleling Hodinkee's folks. If you stick around and are polite you'll most certainly learn something. But in the meantime, since you're up for a challenge maybe we'll see what you know.
  14. I've always wanted to see someone wearing G-Glass, all the iPhone and smart tech gear they can throw on their body, etc and just have a black t-shirt on that says "Resistance if Futile" and the back says "BORG" with fake tube graphics going into their body right where their wallet is...
  15. We should run him through a test. Guarantee he fails miserably.
  16. Did you tuck the sweater under the Graham for comfort? I've often wondered about the wearability of those big elaborate crown/pushers
  17. Nice watch with strap - I say just adjust organically to feedback and time on market. If you want to move it... drop it to $475 in a week or so and bump it. Bump it a lot so people see it I guess. I'm not an expert, just hoping that maybe helps?
  18. 6538 from the raffle just arrived this morning <3 I'm in love
  19. I need to get a vintage pearl for that insert, for sure.
