  1. But the price difference is insane to go with gen. If the endlinks are bad and the clasp, isn't it cheaper to replace the clasp with gen. (200) and endlinks, etc? A gen bracelet is nice but nearly 800 dollars or more. If you look at the Yuki bracelet image from his website, doesn't it show the same line that runs across the connector to the endlinks? This means it's the same exact maker and flaws unless that is not the flaw he means.
  2. Good lord this hobby is frustrating. There are excellently replicated newer complete subs with complicated rehaut engravings but no one in China makes a decent older style oyster bracelet anymore? How do they not care about the demand which means money?
  3. So star time does show the individual links as Italian made. But is the 75 dollar complete bracelet Chinese I assume? Why don't they sell a complete Italian made stainless submariner bracelet I wonder.
  4. If the old MBW's are better than the Yuki's, or the ones that come on Cartels....Etc... Why is no one making rep bracelets as good as the old MBW's? Why did they have a higher attention to detail to any of the rep bracelet makers of today? Or is it just there is less demand for the older Rolex reps that use this bracelet now?
  5. Great info. Thanks.
  6. OK, thanks. So is the Yuki bracelet better in those regards?
  7. But is there any difference to the bracelet that came with the Cartel? I'm only asking as I'm kind of new but from reading it seems all of the rep. 93150 Bracelets are pretty much equal... ( Aside from purchasing separate end links).
  8. I am suspect of how much they are corroded. It makes me think the corrosion could be synthetic. (Use of salts compound, etc). Unless the metal is zinc, you would have to submerge them in saltwater to look this bad. But it is possible the hands were not artificially submerged in a corrosive compound.
  9. You guys can tell the insert is gen from these crappy pictures? Impressive.
  10. Sorry for dumb question but would an original 5513 case have the same dimensions as this original 1961 5512 case in these photos with the caliper displays?
  11. Hi, Jack.

I'm still learning a lot from your posts and the forums as I get closer to finishing my 7928 build using the newer cartel 5513 case.  I had Neckyzips (Joe) engrave the case for me and am I gathering parts to finish up.   There is one thing I can't figure out, where can I buy or what size is that really thin crystal o-ring/gasket that is in on the case neck that goes under the crystal on these?    It's so thin that when you remove it, it loses it's shape to measure, and it is difficult to measure the tiny case neck grove where it goes.

    Thank you sir,

    Rick

  12. Etsy used to be tightly controlled so that only hand made crafts could be sold....then, just like everyone else in America..... They sold out for a fat pay day and let resellers on who didn't make the items they sold. I guess the founders sold it and now it sucks. We ruin everything in America due to greed.
  13. This is the GREATEST post I've seen on any forum in a very long time. Humorous, witty... Well done my friend, well [censored] done. Of course, it's easy to make fun of us Americans, we obviously are idiots.
  14. Specs please? Obviously, the movement is Gen I assume? But what is the other nice components?
  15. Is there really no way we can amplify the input so the apps will work more consistently?
  16. Thanks guys. Automatico, I will try the size you used for MBW. Maybe everyone is still reusing the same crystal gasket that came with the newer cartels so no one has had to find a new one yet. If you remove that gasket, it pops out very unshapely from being squeezed so much with the crystal on. It's distorted and impossible to tell what size it was. If 32.5 x .8 works I'll report.
  17. Really? I thought it looked less in thickness but I could be wrong. But that makes sense that whoever makes these would just use one size gasket for case back and case neck. Thank you very much.
  18. Hello everyone. Does anyone know what size or where to get one of those thin case neck crystal gaskets that are on the cartel 5513/1665 cases? It's difficult to measure that small grove or the gasket itself since it's small and holds no shape. It's the gasket that seals between case neck and crystal like seadweller. Is it simply like a seadweller gen gasket size?
  19. In regards to the original post..... Are there really any fake movements that look like this made from scratch or is the implication that there are cases where people create fake movements from some gen parts combined with non gen? I thought only the Yuki 3135 is a made from scratch replica movement, correct?
  20. I see this on eBay all day long that listings say original but they never mention the replaced parts. They get away with it even more with Tudor subs it seems. One recent listing even said "restamped case"... Which to me was a flag that they bought an after market case. When I asked if the case was a aftermarket they just said the watch is original without explaining why a case would be "restamped". I'm a total newbie. So I just assume it's all aftermarket except movements because movements are difficult to fake. So buy only with a 30 day inspection period and you are safe.
  21. Oh no dude. I hope you get your watch. I'm gonna send RoloJack my watch in a few weeks to France. I wonder what service is safest for to and from U.S. and France?
  22. Does the newer Cartel 7928 have an engraved case back? If so, that is a nice start so you just have to reshape the case and add your dial.
  23. I didn't know they were based in the U.S. ( eBay says member is based in the U.S.) But I know almost nothing about them so I don't know why I assumed they were not. That almost makes it worth it for me that I wouldn't have to worry about customs.
  24. Yeah I agree. A screwed down crown will not move as easily as a non screwed down crown. I have trouble believing a non screwed down crown is just as secure. Why else would crown guards exist if it's not important that a crown is secured?
