Yeah, it's kind of weird, I never stare at other's wrist/watch until I came to know RWG. LOL.

Judging from your Pic 8,9,10, sorry to say the lume on the markers do look concave. If you know how the lume is filled into the empty markers look like this [ and becomes flat, then you can realize why a relume can never be flat, unless the old lumes are being removed which is virtually impossible.
-
Personally I will not suggest to touch the lume on the hour markers. No matter how you do it you will end up with concave shaped lumes on the tops which is absolutely wrong where they are supposed to be flat as in the gen. I have no objection in doing the hands if those ex factory doesn't glow in blue. Anyhow, the lume job still looks great if bright glow is what you are after. Just my 0.02

Hi Gio, You are the very fisrt one to take hold of the V5, any comments on the quality if the bracelet? Is it necessary to do mods like sanding sharpe edges, lubricate the links etc.....? Don't seem to have read too much on this topic. Cheers.
-
Many many review aleady. I think now the conclusion is either Eurotz's V5 of PT's Supreme. They both have their pros and cons. You won't go wrong with either of it. Until the V6, V7.... Super Supreme comes up. I must say both dealers have done a lot of work to bring these great DSSD to life. This can be confirmed from the cartel doesn't have a hand on these super DSSD. Eurotz and PT, if you are reading this, keep the great work up, your continuous efforts in bringing more great watches, with reasonable asking prices, to the RWG community is very much appreciated.
-
Does this watch really exist in the real world? Surprising to see the rep even go all the way to have the Faraday case installed - whether it really works is another story.
-
Judging from all the observations and comments, Eurotz's V5 is the one to go for, winning over the PT by a horse nose distance. By looking at all the supuer reps around, the built quality of the V5, QC standard from Eurotz, and the selling price(even with the Swiss ETA2836-2) really makes it the best buy of 2009 so far. It really sets a new standard in the rep community.
-
This certainly looks good. The hour markers are surprisingly accurate as compared to gen. Why can they make the same standard for the Sub Maxi dial? The only thing here is perhpas the bezel fonts are marginally too thin vs the gen/V5?

@ Sander I am not sure where you are located. But if in Hong Kong, AP is just as popular as Rolex. It is not that difficult to come across somebody wearing an AP on the bus/subway actually. And these people are for sure knowledgable about AP's.
-
But with the rep now widely available. You are bound to see more on the street, and the people will start thinking you are wearing a rep. That's why I resist and stay away from all the AP reps. The only way to stay high nowadays is with the frankens, old school Swiss PAM's like 027, 028, 029, 172 etc., modded MBK Rollies..... If you go to yahoo auction Hong Kong, you will see all the so called highend reps. offering by the dealers are being sold there in the open market.

If Yuki can have a bigger selection of cases/dials and other parts like NDT/J&W, I will be more than happy to make deals with him since we both are located in the same region which makes quality issues resolution much easier.

I have tried many differnt methods as well. Dust free on the crystal is really hard to achieve, plexi is even worst where static force will build up when you do the cleaning. What I will do nowadays is first use a sheep skin to clean up all the dirts and grease, follow by lint-free len paper and finally with the compressed air immediately before assembling. Also don't forget the dial is dust free as well otherwise you will be just transferring the dust to the backside of the supposingly cleaned crystal.
-
It is a beautiful watch but you really need a massive wrist to put it on. I can't
-
I hope you are not looking for a rep. that will dive with you for 100m, 200m. Even the gen. Sub can only go down to 300m.
-
Until someone can post the actual DSSD received from PT, I wil still vote for Eutz's V5 considering the finish, pearl and particularly the accuracy of the hour markers as compared to that on the gen.

Congrats! It is a good decision to go for the Steve McQueen 1655. It is simply so classic and differs from the other traditional Rolex sport models. The only thing I see in your 1655 is perhaps the case is marginally too big particularly at the CG side. Further improvements on the hands/dials will make this watch perfect. Still, enjoy your classic 1655. Just to share with you , this is what I have built. Same powered by the beautiful 1575. And now modded with the straight second hand.

And now he is accusing me for ruining his reputation!

I have learned my expensive lessin with this crook from Germany. Firstly I made the purchase on a Rolex LV dial listed in ebay in April under seller named "nice.pebbles" (said to belong to his wife). I was being asked by this guy to deal outside via Paypal to save the ebay fees. So I did and eventually what I got was a totally defective dial with millions of scratches on the dial face. The ebay picture was intentional shot with strong lighting to hide the defects. So I requested to return the dial and have it refund. He aked me to send it back for inspection but insist the dial was taken straight out of his LV in perfect conditions. So the dial went back to his wife under EMS. Then this guy just kept saying he was travelling and couldn't inspect the dial before a refund can be arranged. OK, I waited.......And he relisted the dial again in ebay. Then I saw in May in ebay a 16520 bezel was being listed by nice.pebbles which I thought perhaps it could be a better option to take it with some extra money so that no need to wait for the refund of the dial. So I made the offer and again this time this guy came back and lured me into making the deal outside ebay. So I thought to myself, well, better to get the things setlted quickly and I fell into the trap again and made the balance payment via Paypal. This is the bezel being showed in ebay: And can you believe it, this is the actual bezel being received and taken out straight out from the packing: So I contacted this guy and informed him about this is a completely wrong bezel, and politely asking him if there has been any mistakes in sending me the wrong bezel without even mentioning "fake". Hard to imagine this crook replied and denied this was the bezel he sent and said he checked before sending and was sure the bezel was the one shown in the picture of ebay! I showed him the pictures of the packing (envelope, box etc.) and there is no way he could deny the item was not the one he sent - so he was indicating I made the swap, I am a crook! Totally outrages! I was still being kind enough to offer to return the bezel so that he could inspect it before refunding, which again he agreed so it went back to his wife under EMS. I made two EMS's now, and all the cost was out of my pocket. So now both the defective LV Dial and fake 16520 bezel returned, and I demand for my full refund. And then the whole issue has been dragging on since April because this crook kept saying he was travelling and had no chance to inpect the returned dial and bezel. Tons of emails exchanges in these days, but the only answer I got is the same old BS - still travelling. Until I couldn't bear it any more and told him I was going to raise the claim in Paypal and report the case to ebay then he felt the pressure and promised to make the refund on 17 July. Then he said he forgot the transaction details already so I gave him the full details of both transactions, and in return he came back and said how could he make the refunds since my payments were made already over 60 days. What an A-Hole! So I demanded for money pay via Paypal with the PP fee added which he again agreed, but then another great response from this moron is that he is waiting for funds coming into his PP account and shall then make the money transfer in week 30. OK, I wait again........And of couse nothing comes in. Today's answer from this crook "still waiting for the payments..." Gents, these are the classic statements from this crook named Axel Brodella - I am 100% reliable - You can count on my words - If I say something it is True - I have good references and reputation - I said that I will refund you - I do not like your tone Can you believe I have to make myself like a begger asking for the money that actually belongs to me? And being treated like a fool by being kicking around? And still I have to lose the high EMS cost. I am not sure how many happy deals the RWG members have with this guy, but surely I have paid my lesson. For those who have not yet or are going to have deals with this guy, think twice and learn from the experience I have.

The Eurotimez V5 Deep Sea is in, lots of large photos
bertieng replied to JohnDorian's topic in The Rolex Area
The Eurotz V5 definitely looks good. How is the finish of the hands, are they free of any scratches? Personally haven't seen any perfect hands in all the reps. purchased so far. They are bound to have some scratches on them - no matter how minor they are. -
Do you know if it also has the Faraday case inside? Am I asking a stupid question?
-
freddy, if one day you will decide to sell your 6542 with the Jubliee bracelet, give me a call. I will be all over it.
-
From the picture of both Josh and Trusty I can't see any carbon fibre weaving pattern in it. Case is brushed Ti, but then described as one piece 316L steel?!
-
The MBW Jumbo also comes with the black and white dial. The bracelet is pretty stiff, all you need is a big wrist to wear it.

This Milgauss is so nicely repped. Every detail is almost perfect. Wish they can do the same for DSSD.
