I appreciate you are annoyed, but it's quite childish to revert to slagging-off my team, just because you lost.

Aaah, the Old Firm rivalry rears its head once more. Now where IS that pic of JTB and Neil a la Brokeback Mountain Glasgow-style???

Actually, I thought John was being quite restrained. Your post did come across with a heavy hint of gloat, you may as well have gone the whole hog and posted "Celtic got hammered! :Jumpy::Jumpy::Jumpy: '!!!

*edit* Found the pic!

I'm referring to their history of fascist rule and bankrolling, their arrogant transfer dealings, and 'look at me I'm richer than you' Galactico mentality (think Harlem Globetrotters of football), being more concerned with commercial activities and boardroom infighting than what goes on the pitch. Don't get me wrong, I don't dislike Madrid, just that before Chelsea came along and took on the mantle, they had become the epitome of everything that is wrong in the game.

Sounds like you are almost describing scumchester united (aka man ure) with the arrogant deals, the "look at me I'm wearing a genuine R*l*x, I'm richer than you", commercial activities (send their team off to the far east to create more "fans". Don't forget that they are the reason for the commercialisation, the most profitable club for a while, before foreign teams realised what could be made seeing this example. Now Real Madrid are the most profitable.

Who devalued international friendlies and were the first to pull out their players with mystery non-injuries? man ure.

Who devalued first the League Cup and then the FA Cup by playing youth teams? man ure.

Who are at the forefront of wanting national associations or FIFA to pay for players to play for their country (despite that increasing their value - they would never have got the money for Beckham unless he was England captain, etc) ? man ure.

Ah well, if the glove fits... ;)

Arrogance and disrespect my friend, they'll never learn - look where it got them again last night!:lol::lol: Same as last year when they got eliminated in the group stage by Benfica, and the glorious year before that when they played a reserve side in the last group match, but got beaten to only finish runners-up and thus face AC Milan (the only time I have cheered for Hernan Crespo ^_^) instead of the German minnows of Bremen who faced the group winners. You see? That's why I LOVE to hate them (as opposed to Mourinho's Mercenaries ) because they ultimately FU big-time and seeing that sour puss red-nosed grump with a face like thunder is priceless

Hoping for 2 from Celtic, Benfica or FC Kobenhavn to go through. Fingers crossed. :victory:
Sorry it's the 'Tic and the Danes for me - Benfica play very cynical negative football and are prone to cheating  C'mon man you can't have THAT short a memory can you?!:brow:

err.. No, I didn't enjoy that. Why on earth would I want a Scottish team to lose to anyone overseas?

I think you have been amongst the reprobates in "the jungle" too long, and enjoy that sort of schadenfreude.

I want all Scottish teams to win in Europe (Yes, even Hearts!), and failing that, the English teams to win in Europe. The fact is that Celtic got hammered, just as they themselves hammered Benfica a few weeks ago.

I appreciate you are annoyed, but it's quite childish to revert to slagging-off my team, just because you lost.

It also looks particularly gloomy for Celtic tonight with United putting on a poor show in Denmark. I still have my fingers crossed that Celtic will scrape though in 2nd place,

I hope they do!

Can you say that?.. Were you cheering Rangers on when we needed a draw at Ibrox against Inter Milan last season to go though... I hope you were, but I doubt it. You probably donned a Nerazzurri shirt.

I haven't seen that much backtracking since that wee numbskull gascoigne pulled his flute playing stunt in an Old Firm game and then said he didn't know what it meant.

"Celtic got hammered" served no other purpose than to irritate me and possibly one or two others.

Oh and by the way did you join the RWG Champions League Pool? Did you put your hand in your pocket and help RWG at the same time? Do you have a vested interest in this thread?

Nah........didn't think so!

Celtic got beat......that's more important.

Yeah those were some of the pictures i took at the West Ham match (first home game of the season) plus some more from the Community Shield against Chelsea in Cardiff.

Just thought maybe personal pics arent too wise on a rep forum (did someone say paranoid!)

But anyway, here they are again

Cheers! I understand but it's not exactly a close-up of you is it? :D

Great game by the way, I'm jealous as I was couldn't make it. Did you get a good view of Agger's Goal of the Season???

:Jumpy: just noticed the infamous Terry banner - I take it you DO know what the rest of it said and what it was all about don't you?

Yeah we had pretty good seats, but near the halfway line, so i thought aggers shot hit the side netting until everyone started going mental!

And yeah, the Terry banner was class! What better way to get one over on the guy keeping you out of the England team, than by getting your brother to [censored] his mum!! :Jumpy::D:bangin::thumbsupsmileyanim:

Allegedly, of course :whistling:

If anyone's still curious about the exact wording of the banner, please feel free to PM. Personally although it is funny ^_^ (not to both families though I'm sure), I much prefer the clever pun-ridden banners that LFC fans are famous for :D

I wear Liverpool FC on my inside only :) Club Shop items do not mix well with the type of watches I like to wear ^_^

I guess i'm like that too, until maybe LFC get a Dominos Pizza esq Special Edition Rolex :D (even then im not too sure!)

To be honest i only wear my top if im going out to watch the game, or to a match.

The medal has pride of place on my little brothers bedside cabinet!

  • 2 weeks later...

Well, Arsenal won 3-0 tonight, a much needed break from poor games and few goals. Nice to see chances being taken care of for once.

Liverpool continues their run of shitty away games.. 5 losses in a row now? 1-12 in goal difference?

Rafa should do something about that defence of his..

They were no match for the efficient and playing Gunners..

Yes very poor away games. I don't know the stats on this game, but all the others Liverpool had more shots on and off target against their opponents (even the man ure game. believe it or not).

All the toughest games are out of the way now: man ure, Arsenal, Chelsea, Everton, Bolton.

The Bolton and Chelsea ones should have been wins in games the away team dominated, but such is football. :bangin:

 I'll try my best not get irritated by this blatant provocation/gloating except to say I think (our midfield enforcer) Momo's loss mid-week with a dislocated shoulder hit hard and the team will take a game or two to adjust. But adjust we will. Also I think we always play better when there's some craic/atmosphere around the game - unfortunately the Emirates is no better than the old Highbury 'Library'. At least our fans don't take to booing our own team at home, like you lot have done all season

If anyone wants other reasons why our away form is so poor, then look no further than wearing bloody yellow shirts again this year - always was and always will be an unlucky colour, not just in 2005 (apart from a game against Leverkusen we couldn't buy a result away from home in yellow kit) but going back 80s 70s etc. Damn adidas!!!!

Back ON TOPIC, Champions League....step forward all those already in the last 16???? No, sorry not you Ape
