alligoat Posted February 11, 2015 Report Posted February 11, 2015 Crown guards are too fat and stubby. A better dial picture would help, but the lume is too puffy. It ain't real!
hrh Posted February 11, 2015 Report Posted February 11, 2015 (edited) as compared to what..??? Edited February 11, 2015 by hrh
sgtguk Posted February 11, 2015 Report Posted February 11, 2015 mbw, looks to me like gen dw crystal so modded in my humble opinion........but hey wait for the experts bloody lovely looking piece, want it Great photo skills too btw
Mendota Explorer Posted February 11, 2015 Report Posted February 11, 2015 I like the meters first dial. Mine says hello.
highoeyazmuhudee Posted February 12, 2015 Report Posted February 12, 2015 my guess mbk case, cg shape and finish looks mbk, crown sits lower than gen, bezel teeth look mbk as well yuki hands, minute hand lume portion looks too thin cmopared with gen dial markers are too puffy very nice rep mind you.
bobandshawn Posted February 12, 2015 Report Posted February 12, 2015 Crown guards are the most obvious tell. Other than that it's a winner... B
automatico Posted February 12, 2015 Report Posted February 12, 2015 Agree with hh, the CG look like my MBK cases. Imho MBK cases are pretty good. Make that very good.
Ueno Posted February 12, 2015 Report Posted February 12, 2015 I don't think it's a MBK case because the crown position seems to be high on this case here, all the MBK case don't have high position crown, they are all wrong and low.
Nanuq Posted February 12, 2015 Report Posted February 12, 2015 The characteristic profile of a gen 1680 cg is the droop on the underside. Early MBWs get that perfect (and unfortunately do it on the 1665 too) but this one doesn't have it. Not MBW.
Mendota Explorer Posted February 12, 2015 Report Posted February 12, 2015 (edited) Not to veer off course since we are talking MBW, but it looks like the PT has the droop, and when viewed from the underside and top side it also has the right shape, but just a slight bit too much length, creating a narrower tip on the side profile vs the gen having more of a straighter up and down leading edge. Like a fraction of a mm. Would you leave it alone or just polish it out? Edited February 12, 2015 by Mendota Explorer
fast_freddy Posted February 12, 2015 Author Report Posted February 12, 2015 not baaad, mbw case, gen crown, tube, crystal und dwo. movement as 2086 gen 9315
Boxsash Posted February 13, 2015 Report Posted February 13, 2015 That's cool Freddy. So a gen date wheel will work behind an MBW dial on a AS 2086 movement. I want that mod!
Beachcomber Posted February 14, 2015 Report Posted February 14, 2015 And my gen which is sadly no longer with me. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
