polexpete Posted August 27, 2008 Report Posted August 27, 2008 Hi guys, I started to build a 1675 GMT a while back, you can see the original thread here: http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showto...amp;hl=1675+gmt The watch is based on a Silix 1675 with the original dial re-done by Micheal at CWP who done a fantastic job on it Specs are Gen Crown (fits original rep tube) Gen Jubilee bracelet with 55 endlinks and 6251H clasp Gen 116 tropic CWP Tudor Hands aged with rep 24 hour hand Original rep bezel insert bleached I replaced the DW with a more realistic version also change the caseback to a brushed flat one aka the gen. Drilled the case for gen springbars. Just need to get the bezel milled down to look more like the gen like Too Much Gear did to his, and much thanks to TMG for some invaluable advice on this project. Here we go: Thanks for looking P.
Dizzy Posted August 27, 2008 Report Posted August 27, 2008 nice old stretched jubilee look to the bracelet. The dial looks pretty good. date font is a little big but thats always accpetable on the old rollies because of different replacement crystals used throughout the years during servicing... very nice work my friend! Im really starting to like these 1675's
freddy333 Posted August 27, 2008 Report Posted August 27, 2008 Excellent work so far. I think the T116 & that open 6/9 datewheel make this watch. Where did you source the movement & datewheel?
StormTooper4 Posted August 27, 2008 Report Posted August 27, 2008 Wow that is such a lovely looking timepiece, wear it well ST4
alligoat Posted August 27, 2008 Report Posted August 27, 2008 Beautiful job, Pete. I had to read the previous 1675 topic, and I gather that you had Michael Young redo the rep dial due to the fit problems with the gen being too small. It looks very nice, and now you don't have to look at "Oyster Perpetual Date" on the dial which is a dead giveaway. Great work and thanks for sharing. @ freddy, the movement would be the 2836-2 which came with the watch from silix originally.
By-Tor Posted August 27, 2008 Report Posted August 27, 2008 Good work... looks great! I'd put it on the Oyster bracelet though... but that's just a personal preference... Jubil

freddy333 Posted August 29, 2008 Report Posted August 29, 2008 @ freddy, the movement would be the 2836-2 which came with the watch from silix originally. Thanks, Alli. That is exactly what I wanted to hear.
