  1. banned? you get banned for leaving negative feedback? does he actually tell you this?!
  2. theres also some GEN lumi hands right here for $90 !!! get em while they last! http://www.network54.com/Forum/207673/message/1320611145/rolex+1680+hands+lumi
  3. cant seem to edit my post to append some information: there appears to be slight damage around the 7 o clock marker and the pinion hole on the dial looks like theres paint missing but wouldnt be noticeable once installed with hands, it could also be the camera angle and lighting. if you can get this one for a good price it is more than suitable.
  4. the one pictured above is a service tritium dial from the 90s. the original dial currently being auctioned is an original 80s dial NOT service replacement. the condition of the dial in the auction needs a bit of cleaning and will never look perfectly mark free. the spider web cracking effect is sought after for these dials, not my taste but it certainly doesnt detract from it, so dont count the cracking as damage. but yeah - i would skip it. especially if you dont intend on pairing it with some tritium hands. instead keep your eye on this one http://www.ebay.ca/itm/VERY-RARE-Rolex-glossy-gilt-Submariner-dial-80s-referenz-5513-/250925768364?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3a6c575eac that mark above the crown looks like cloth lint to me, as in the seller tried to clean the dial before taking pictures
  5. its a nice case, things can be done to make the valve look a lot better. same laser etched non working valve. once modded and done up right these MBWs can achieve a very nice look even with out adding gen parts (though gen parts just complete it
  6. sure is. expect this auction to reach over $200 though. does a josh fit a gen dial?
  7. dang it! so they ll rep 95% of a gen movement but neglect to make a gen style bezel assembly ?!? wonder if a gen insert snaps in
  8. too late.. please elaborate incase it could be of use to me or other members. my experience is most parts dont actually fit the gen counterpart BUT he is willing to fully refund the price. they dont exactly know what theyre selling , so theyre not very helpful and easily ship you the wrong parts, but they do try and make it right at their expense. im sure other members have varying tales
  9. a proper education. if selling Rolex is your business you will (better) learn quickly to identify the balance wheel as not having the correct micro stella adjusters amongst a few other differences, if you still cant tell the difference maybe you shouldnt be in business selling these watches.
  10. ive seen both mismatched dials and hands from both ways. i think when it comes to hand and dial aging some artistic freedom is expected. iodine and the toaster oven worked quite well for me in the past
  11. was this the flat S cracked dial? i bought one a few years back for $130
  12. the cheapest i managed to get a gen insert for was $80 and a gen plexy, still sealed in package for $90. that was a year or two ago
  13. the venus will stop winding once its at full reserve. you will feel the resistance in the crown, and it will feel un natural to push it further.
  14. yours seems to be missing the makers mark and the alignment of the 'L' in rolex looks too far left under the 12 o clock coronet
  15. Justin your ingenuity never ceases to amaze me
  16. nice case what a beautifully completed project! im seeing more and more of these glossy 5513s done perfectly! a truly affordable franken and a definite addition to any serious sub collection congrats Matt
  17. ive only ever seen the incabloc style in omegas and higher grade movements, where as the novodiac is used in the 'econo' lines maybe im wrong?
  18. they might glow at the same intensity but how long till the dial out shines the hands?
