  1. I went to Nostalgia-2000 today to buy a set of hands for an Eta Sub. Seems Gary is out with hip surgery and his eBay store is closed for a few more weeks. That only left Mr. Slimeball and several selling from HK or China. Any other ideas for a decent set in USA. I'd rather go with Gary and wait unless there's another place. Actually, I really just need a second hand. but I'm sure I'll have to buy a set.
  2. Build yourself a watch tree like I did after I filled up the box. I can still hang four more of it If necessary.
  3. This one hasn't had much use lately but I still love it once I put it on.
  4. This one came from a forum member here. The best deal I've ever run across. It has a Swiss movement that needed work and Speedy rebuilt it completly and removed the winding gears. Supposedly gen crown, crystal and pushers, although I can't verify that.

    Perfect CG

I believe he said he already put on one of BK's crown and tube sets, which are next best thing to gen available.

    Perfect CG

That's about as good as you can get with a Noobmariner, IMHO. The problem is when you square out the inner part, you have too much gap between the crown and the CGs. Also they end up a little skinnier than the gen.
  7. Looks like she must be timing something. Or, she doesn't know how to use a chronograph properly.
  8. Lani, you need to put in a link to the Mega Raffle..... For lazy people like me.
  9. The bezel comes off my SOSF quite easily. It's a 21j model from PWC. Eta's may be different.
  10. The quick and simple answer to your problem is to take the two watches to a watch repair man and have the stems put back in. Unless you've buggered up the keyless works trying to stuff it back in, it's only a 2 minute job. If you have, it's a 30 minute job. Still easier than sending them back to China.
  11. T<25 (tritium less than 25 milliroentgens)
  12. You can put me down for one of those if you still have any available Andy.
  13. Omega Speedmaster Date. Ebel 1911 AFAIK, they're both available in the opposite color scheme.
  14. Sorry, but I don't see this as either a QC issue or Joshua's fault. You've got two watches that the stems have come out of the movements after working proerly for several months. A stem coming out after several months is not normal but it has nothing to do with Josh or even the person who assembled your rep. You don't mention what movements you have but probably they're the A21j movements that sell for around $5 or less wholesale. It sounds to me like "operator error". You better either go easier on the setting of your watches or buy better quality movements. You could probably save yourself a lot of grief if you'd buy a watch winder.
  15. Is it not true that Tritium was discontinued because of radiation poisoning of workers that handled it on a daily basis?
  16. Not that it helps in this case, but I've started taking pictures of packages and keeping the receipts until the package is delivered.
  17. Exact same model I used to have 20 years ago. Great watch. You can get them for less that $2000 if you shop around.
  18. My guess is you'll get bored with the project before you see any difference. But good luck and keep us informed.
  19. I wondered that also when I heard it a while ago. I've looked at quite a few gens and come to the conclusion that no they don't. Even if they did when they came out of the factory, the position would change as the o'rings in the crown became compressed. Also I have 3 DJs with gen cases, crown and tubes and there's no commonality between any of them.
  20. I agree. Sometimes it's worth a few dollars more for the piece of mind. Josh has always taken very good care of me.
  21. Insert and pearl crown and tube crystal ???what else???
  22. My thoughts exactly, and I'm a pretty loyal Rolex guy. I was over on Worth Avenue in Palm beach window shopping and my wife started laughing. I went over and she was pointing at a Graham with the pump handle on it. I just can't understand that one at all. Panerai are OK but I think one Luminor and one Radiomir are plenty.
  23. Same stuff that painters use to put on windows before painting. Other than the painters stuff is heavier. Try a paint store but you'll be buying a life time supply unless you can get the guy to give you a small sample.
  24. Hey, congratulations. Enjoy him every day because before you know it he'll be a teenager and you won't want him anymore! JK
