  1. the first step in teh road to recovery is recognizing you have a problem. Seeing as you haven't bought your first rep yet- technically you do not yet have a problem. however, realizing by your post that you already know you "will" have a problem - i recomend buying as much up front as possible before you admit to having a problem, incur therapy costs - and use some sort of external force - handcuffs, straight jacket, wife, to slow your habbit. i say get all of them and - pick up a pam 177h while your at it - Great research my friend - enjoy the site - there is an amazing amount of info here to be learned - looks like your off to a good start.
  2. eh - nice, but not like some of the best i have seen here
  3. very nice - and - welcome to the club - if you thought you had a watch habbit before - you now have a double bad habbit.
  4. um - uh, - um- well-- i read the tite and was thinking of comments to make about no hands, until i opened the thread i can't believe you bake your watches - my boss, came to me yesterday - i sold him a corum admirals cup that i got from trusty - he said his crystal shattered. i said shattered? he said yeah - i figured no way - but maybe he left it in the sun or something, we are in florida i doubt he threw it in the oven
  5. i had one - lost it in my office fire - got another one - its super heavy - and actually writes very very well. your not going to tuck it into your shirt pocket though must have - discussion piece
  6. next time customs seizes your watch, tell them your an independant film maker and you have seized my prop, deliver it immediatly or you will have the MPAA aftaer them
  7. which citizen do you have? mine is pictured in my sig, i've never had a problem with the band. its a great watch that keeps great time, solar powered - and mine has perpetual calender. i love it. beach, work in the garage anything that i don't want to wear a rep for fear of damage - out comes my trusty citzen . only real downside i have found is, the crystal isn't saphire so, i have some chips in it. adds to the character of the watch
  8. all non-americans - you probably don't understand, i don't, cause i'm a north east liberal intellectual elite. but- there is a really large crowd here in the us that are for the most part harmless, but they like to own weapons - i don't know for what, maybe its a penis thing, but they do - guns knives, yadda yadda i don't have any problems with people selling knives. they aren't illegal and - if someone was going to use a knife to commit a crime - it won't be the failure of this board to get in the way of it. sometimes you just have to say - oh, well, i don't get it, but, whatever floats your boat. i also feel teh same way about nascar can i fit anymore stereotypes in this post?
  9. A DAY? do you work at home? or do you carry your watch box to the office
  10. oh - that doesn't sound good - one of the keys is, don't force it, if your crown isn't popping out smooth or going in smooth forcing it can damage the little gears. i also know there are certain "times" on the watch that can make it more difficult to adjust dates ect. - a friend of mine screwed up his gears on his pam 89 because he forced it - josh told me to set the time to 4pm then set the date as that was the time on the watch that was furthest away from the date and gmt hand gears. i'm doubting this a simple watchmaker fix. may require some new parts
  11. WElcome to the board - the watches here are all about enjoying them - if you enjoy your reps, thats what is important. Frankly, you didn't get a bad deal for canal street - they would probably have asked for like 60 or 70 bucks for the daytona - and you could talk em down to 40. and as far as citizen goes - still one of my favorite watches. Welcome, enjoy
  12. Ok - ok, i guess then the reverse question is - do you really want to put TTK through having to delete his email ) I think the contest for the best "who has the best sub" thread - (only previous submissions are evaluated) would be pretty damn funny.
  13. they had gen 42 and 45 mm PO on my cruise the AR is AMAZING. in fact, i never liked the watch - i had tried it on - didn't know it came in 2 sizes - cause i was never really into it. After i saw the sizes on the board - decided to take another look. the 45mm is a really nice watch - and as i said above the AR is amazing, you have to do an indiana jones and throw sand on the thing to even see the crystal my bro in law wanted to get a decent watch - he was going to get like a citizen - i said, for the same bucks - lets get you a nice rep. I picked out omega for him cause he could pull it off - from an affordability - and - i told him - if i give you a sub - everyone is going to ask - is that fake? with this no one will ask - unless they are watch people. I mean who even knows what an orange po let alone that there are rampant fakes running around
  14. Thats my bently - [censored] if they had them for 10 bucks, i would have bought them all. it doesn't change color - i put it in the pics to give an idea for size
  15. DEFINATLY a great topic i think members, especially seasoned members shape opinion and sales. I think some has to do with the photos and drooling, and some has to deal with pointing out flaws.

  17. Pugs - i appreciate your trying to be helpful - but the guy hasn't read the first thing about our forum - or he wouldn't have asked who's got the best sub- would you really want to subject him to TTK's requirements? Sir - i recomend you take some time and read all you can - because frankly, there is only 1 person that can answer your question - and its you. if this doesn't make sense - you haven't read enough of the forum. Keep coming back here and at some point all will be clear Enjoy
  18. we are a very very small % of a large business. The funny part of all this is - ok, aside from the value of diamonds or gold in a watch - and knowing that quality control is somewhat better - the real observation for our reps is - when you buy expensive watches - your buying 25-35% watch and 75% brand name. Sure there is some value in the creative aspect. But i bet the chinese have to be just as creative to get a good copy going. and clearly there are some really interesting and neat movements out there. - but 5000 for a Gen pam, made out of SS - with the same movement you can get for 300 bucks - and a 100$ strap point is- most watches are a rip off. Way more name than substance. - in my opinion anyway i heard my father say something - looking at a Patek gen - which was just a simple 2 hand, minute and seconds watch in i think white gold, for like 10,000 - and he said - oh, thats a good price to get a patek. Exactly what about that watch, other than the name stamped on it makes it 8500 more valuable than my movado gen. this is all a symtom of the larger evil in our world the push of advertisers to make us think we must have certain things - and our willingness to shun financial responcibilty and prudent behavior in order to obtain them ok - anyway, nice post - interesting article
  19. um - well, - uh- nevermind, here you go http://www.iattire.net/
  20. i love this model - joshua tells me its cost prohibative because they have to make a custom movement for it. king has a pos version of it http://www.kingshowbox.com/PANERAI-086.htm
  21. well for any of you who have gone on a cruise before - one of the most intersting things to watch is not the natives of your exotic desinations frohlic in the nude - but is to watch people who will do anything for a "deal" people clobbering each other to buy a 1 dollar t shirt for 5 dollars that they wouldn't buy for 50 cents back home. So on the ship they have costume jewlery - costume watches -- turner watches 10 dollars a piece -notice the organization by color i took a few photos of the more recognizable models - the light was really bad in there so - forgive the photos Enjoy - Flame Away - (at them not me)
  22. That looks freaking awesome - I want to ride there - can you believe my wife has only seen snow twice - grew up in florida ps - i am still trying to figure out what the hell to do with my bently gt and all those numbers that turn with the bezel
