  1. Yeh, we will still need to get some rules going for an auction tho Bill! Talking with admin about it now. O/S EDIT: Topic moved.
  2. Sounds like its not what you expected, hope it gets sorted. Don't forget that even if it is 6 months since it was serviced, it would need to have been re-timed after the service to be at all effective. I tell all my service customers to bring their watches back after about 6 weeks for a quick reset. O/S
  3. I find that serviced watches sometimes take a little time to "bed in" after service, and I regularly retime a watch after about 6 weeks and get much better and MORE CONSISTENT, time keeping. Also we know these bloody A7750's are hand grenades, so its difficult to expect too much in regard to time keeping. The bigger question in my mind is that a decent service was in fact carried out, After all, that is the major value in the offer. I would have another watchmaker check that a service was indeed done, and ask for the reason it is slow to start.. Offshore
  4. It is seriously not worth wasting time reading. Just John G trying to stir the pot...again! Guy tells more lies than truth, and has the worlds most vivid imagination. Absolutely nothing of any substance will ever come from his mouth. Offshore
  5. You do know you can fix this issue for $10.00? http://watchbitz.com.au/shop/index.php?_a=viewProd&productId=51 Offshore
  6. Yeh, you would have to start to question whether the tracking # you have is actually for your goods, sometime about now. Probably with this info, you could once again question the seller. O/S
  7. What you need to realise about a tracking # is that blank shipping forms with these numbers are readily available. Suppliers have piles of them in their packing areas, and in their offices. Now if a supplier grabs the next form on the pile, and allocates that number to your consignment, it doesn't signify the item has even been packed, let alone shipped! ( In fact your goods may not even exist) I have seen shipping benches with dozens of these forms, just with the clients name written on them, and no sign of goods being even packed. So having a tracking number means diddly squat...having one which comes up as being shipped is a bonus, and then you need to pray that the number you have, actually belongs to your goods! Suppliers vary from well intentioned who find things get a bit confused, to some who intentionally hand out tracking numbers when goods have not even been sourced, just to quieten down the "chirping" from the white eyes! Wish I was wrong in saying this, however it is another fact of life in the business of rep watches, ( and other items) Offshore EDIT. @jdkno, EMS are also notoriously slow in updating their web site, as are other Asian carriers. I don't think you can read much into one scenario. Its when a pattern emerges...so in your case, only the sender really knows the truth.
  8. Some of the old timers will remember the ill fated RWG watch, and the purported use of said funds. Whilst "strolling" around ebay tonight, I see someone has built a 'tribute" watch, just for Blade! http://cgi.ebay.com.au/VINTAGE-ACURA-MOTOR-CAR-QUARTZ-MEN-WATCH-/370483620898?pt=Wristwatches&hash=item56428b6c22#ht_1724wt_754 Those who were here will get it, and if you don't see the point, please don't ask Offshore
  9. Peter, You need to get the movement onto a pulse tester, to see if you have an operational circuit. Often the electrical side will be fine, however the mechanical side has been jammed by built up verdigris. A line freeing machine (demagnetiser) can be useful in these situations. If you do not have a circuit, it is possible to repair the electrics, however, as has been pointed out, with the price of a changeover movement somewhere around the $10 - $15 mark, it is hardly worth the effort. Hope this helps. Offshore
  10. Great effort mate, we are the better for having your contributions. Offshore
  11. Here ya go! http://www.rwgforum.com/topic/103944-a-foray-into-the-wilds-of-china/page__hl__%2Bchina+%2Btrip http://www.rwgforum.com/topic/104338-china-hk-gz/page__p__719912__hl__%2Bchina+%2Btrip__fromsearch__1#entry719912 O/S
  12. No need to do that watt! A bottle of rum next time you're passing will put enough spirit in me! O/S
  13. Thanks to all out there who are attesting to my character, (And I reckon my 3 ex wives wouldn't agree with you! ) ......however I only treat others as I hope others would treat me. This forum, my home, has a proud tradition of "Pass it forward", where a good deed done is passed forward to another member in need. And there are many around these parts who continue to keep that fine tradition going. In reality, it is one thing which separates this place from others. So- there are plenty of great people around these parts, who give and pass on, and strangely, those who only want to take, seem to quickly move elsewhere. Maybe they just don't fit! It is an honor to be part of this fine family. O/S
  14. Well we have just purchased a large quantity of these- And Watch Bitz will have them available from next week.(In limited quantities) As a Swiss tool (9 X interchangeable tips) this sells at round $70 -$80, however we will have it selling at under $16.00! Thats for 9 various hand hole sizes including a blank for second hands. I have been using one for some time now...its a nice bit of kit, and super value for the money. Offshore
  15. Looks like the prayers may have worked. No reported injuries or fatalities at this time. You would have to think they have dodged a bullet! Much damage obviously, but broken stuff can always be repaired. O/S
  16. There is now talk of a 12m storm surge. That is seriously scary! Especially knowing all the low lying land in that area. They would end up with thousands of acres underwater. We can only hope things improve. O/S
  17. No Red, A bit too far south for this to do much more than wet their lawn, and blow a few leaves off the trees. This one has a 500km front, from north of Cairns down to Mackay. Its about another 1000kms from there to Brisbane. We have some breeze here now, and its hugely oppressive, hot and humid. We will get some "hot" rain tonite...no cooling showers, and I expect a bit of wind tomorrow as we get the tail of this thing. But those up north are in for a pounding tonite, and the thing is so strong, they are expecting it will not dissipate once it crosses the coast. News reports are saying it will still be Cat 3 250 -300 kms inland. Also talk of massive wind/tidal surge...up to 4mtrs! After the floods, this state doesn't need this right now. Just gotta get on with things I guess....glad I'm not in the insurance business. Offshore Here is the current map-
  18. Well someone in Cairns still has a sense of humour! It is a seriously large cyclone though...I've been through a couple, but nothing close to the size and intensity of this monster. As KB said, pray for the people up there! Offshore
  19. The manufacturer who supplies us with these, warns that this is a possible consequence of their use! So YES, they could. O/S
  20. swdivad, I had tried many things to break the habit, incl those electronic cigs. What did it for me was a massive scare with a blocked carotid artery, and the Champix tablets.(Govt sponsored) I'm now off for 3 months, and I know I will never smoke again. Still crave one nearly every night, but I remind myself of the operation for my artery ( which was horrific), and I the craving instantly goes. If you haven't tried Champix, talk to your Doc. O/S
  21. I know that unit, its not a bad ultrasonic for the hobbyist. Pretty keen price as well. O/S
  22. I have an account with Sellita, however the prices are nothing special, so I still go gen ETA when I need a movement. O/S
  23. Verrrrrry nice indeed! Great pickup. O/S
