  1. Aaargh! Freddy, that watch is so beautiful it hurts! I got a DRSD today which I like very much, but it needs 30 years to get the look. Val. Edit: Sorry to go off-topic, couldn't hold back.
  2. Threads like this remind me of the fact that we're all hopelessly and completely mad. But who cares? Great pix, great watches, VDB! Val.
  3. Bump! This thread can't go to sleep, guys! Too many requests unanswered! Val.
  4. OK, I'm really no expert here and still noobish, so bear with me. I'd say rep. GMT hand too green (can be the colour settings though). Missing AR under cyclops. Numbering on bezel too fat and too white. Wouldn't bet my granny on it though. Val.
  5. Casual friday PO: Weekend ahead, guys! Val.
  6. Nice pic, Cats. Snowing like crazy here. I go with this today: Have a good day. Val.
  7. Geat watch! Thanks for the review, Marty. Val.
  8. Mid-Week GMT session Have a good day all. Val.
  9. Tuesday is almost over. Was on autopam mode today: Have a good day or evening everyone! Val.
  10. Great gesture from Ubi! That watch slowly grows on me, though had you ever been to Le Locle (see dial) you would definitely not want to be reminded of that place several times a day. Anyway, it's really beautiful and looks seriously well built. Val.
  11. That will probably be my next gen. V1 of the Rep would have to be stellar to change my mind. Val.
  12. Thanks By-Tor! I will try all this next weekend. I hope I get better... OK, on with the show! Val.
  13. OK, Cats. Domi's Relume on my SSD. But! The lume shot is very much exagerated! I used the automatic mode on the cam. Took a long exposure time (forgive my inadequate use of language, I don't know the terms). In day light I don't see any difference while I have to say that the lume in the dark is much better than before. It isn't as bright as a gen though. The pic really gives a wrong impression, sadly I don't know how to make a shot which shows reality. Kind regards Val.
  14. Hi Cats I'll try my best but so far all my lume shots were crap. You'll have to bear with me a little while, will try to come up with pix this week. Val.
  15. Very interesting information! Thanks very much. Gotta find out where they are... Val.
  16. It's 6 o'clock AM in good ol' Europe so I'll start this: Beginning of the week with Railmaster: Have a great week all! Val.
  17. Do! Rated by the master! Thanks for the friendly comment, Pugs. I used Gimp's white balance correction. But even this couldn't make up for using an IKEA cupboard box as a light box. Gotta get a real one, I guess. Oh well... I'd like to call PowerShot's top 5, since he made me sweat blood today! Val.
  18. No more waiting, Sir! I just posted them! Val.
  19. OK, here go my top five. Interesting how difficult it is to choose even if you have such a small collection like me. Next week I'll get a WM9 Sub from a great member here. I guess my choice would once more change again. Number 1 is my first rep ever. I found Pug's legendary Flieger review while looking for a rep of this on TRC, I believe. It's not a good rep compared to today's standards. Some of you might remember that I have since bought the gen and the differences are plenty. Still I like it out of sentimental reasons. I have given it to a very good friend of mine but borrowed it for my top five shoot. The IWC Flieger 3706: Here's the gen (which I don't count according to hackR's severe guidelines. OK, number 2 is my SSD. I have travelled to the Netherlands personally for this, meeting up with ETz'Chris's middleman because we feared my country's legendary customs control. I met John under a railway bridge in a shady Amsterdam suburb where he handed me the packet. I got rid of the fake Rlx box on the train back to A'dam. I have since found more efficient but less romantic ways. I know there's some flaws and I preordered the SD from BK/WM9. But I will never let this go. It's got a better insert and pearl but no cg reshape. Number 3 is the follower of my beloved 3706 which I did not like at all when I came here two years ago. I have since learned to like it and just recently bought one from great member Whatever123. I'm thinking about getting it a Swiss motor and gen dials and hands. IWC 3717: Number 4 is a PAM I even more recently got from Whatever123 as well. Speaking of customer-dealer-relationship . It's a vac-lumed 111h. It makes my girlfriend swear at night for waking her up because it lights the bedroom. I love the classic design! I got more PAMs but recently think about getting rid of them. This is all I need (OK, maybe a black seal should be in my collection as well ) Number 5, finally is a very humble rep. It's the small but very classy Omega Railmaster. It's amazingly spot on and I like it for the sixties design, which never got out of date really. Thanks for looking. Observations about my photo skills are welcome. I'd like to improve here. Valerian
