looking last night for a gen insert for my franken 1665 I ran into some crazy people listing inserts for over 300 dollars on ebay. where are we going, is not even worth to spend all that money a franken will always be a franken.
give me a break
well I changed the crystal but not happy with the results, take a look a t the pictures I ended up removing the AR; it was applied so lightly that I scratched when cleaning the inside of the crystal; now i need a new AR. By the way I pushed the pin key-less release too hard and now the crown will not engaged, need to remove dial and try put it back i place.
I have worked on watches before and I already disassembled the watch and the case stripped, I try to push the crystal out with my fingers. this is a 2007 DSN; I purchased the crystal from DSN is the updated version with better cyclops. so there is no crystal gasket?
What I am really wondering is the crown and the tube will it hold up and not gave up like all the 45UPO I end up installing a gen tube and crown on mine.
I am trying to install a new Crystal that I got for my 088 DSN, can someone tell me how to get the crystal of the case. Does this model suppose to have AR?
thanks
Do not mean to hick jack the thread, but I am about to go the same route, I just received a replacement crystal from DSN and update crystal for my 088 it sure looks thick to me so I am wondering the same how tall should really sit and all PAMs look the same.
that is where I got confused MBW is better that Yuki; when it comes to build a franken 1665 is just an equation of cost versus benefits. that is where i drew the line on my 1665.
MBW case
MBW Dial
Gen Flat dome
Clark's Hands
GEN tube
GEN crown
GEN movement 1570 with silver date-wheel
Gen 580 Endlinks
Gen Bracelet
Poormans Insert (Helen Wong)
Ofrei pearl
And all this put vintagized and put together by The Zigmeister. juts remember a rep is a rep no matter how close it gets..
Yuki case is better than MBW. The Zigmeister installed a 1570 on my MBW 1665 a minor modification was done to the date-wheel ring I think that is the part. Yuki has fully functional HEV right?
@Dizzy I am glad it when to a good home; it was not going to get any wrist time with me.
