  1. http://www.pf-818.com/rlsf00031a-16619-black-asian-28243135-p-14168.html Josh has it- the 16618, which he calls a 16619. Three movements and black or blue dial. Can't say it's a TW Best, but pics look ok 2824-2 movement made to look like a 3135 would indicate the higher crown position like a WM9 V3 Haven't checked Trusty, but bet he has them also. @ Ronin007- would like to knw who you got your FG Sub from!
  2. Actually, in Dr. No, Bond wore the sub on a croc strap- either black or dark brown. Wasn't it later in Goldfinger when he was wearing the Nato strap- by then Q was around as I recall.
  3. Speaking of Seikos- this Invicta comes with the Seiko NH35A movement. Picked up the all gold model diver for $86 from Amazon. It's a 8920-BP with the old style coin edge bezel. Running the gold test on it now- seeing how long the gold plating lasts in the warm Texas sun!
  4. Jack Lord played the first Leiter, but by Goldfinger, someone else was playing the part, as I recall. Maybe Jack was tied up on Hawaii Five-O by that time. Beautiful 6204 Joey! Sure would be nice if you could find an all acrylic pearl to fit that insert.
  5. I ran across this submariner knock-off with a Miyota movement and it seemed like a good deal for $124 shipped to the US. It's only WR to 30 meters, but I've been buying some beaters lately with Miyotas in them. I like to think of them as a step above the dg2813. Sometimes I like to wear a low key no name type of watch instead of a Rolex or a rep... I also liked this 40mm no name DJ watch- also I believe a Parnis, but w/ the dg2813 ( I hope! ), This one is $109 shipped from HK. Just curious if anyone else is buying these cheap knock-offs!
  6. I don't think it has anything to do with the movement being small, I just think that women aren't as active as men are. But I don't really know. My wife's watch is a model 69173 and has an L serial, circa 1989 or 90. Also has a sapphire crystal. If you could pick up a 6516 or 7 that's been serviced and in good condition, for around $1000, I would think it would be a good deal.
  7. The cartel dealers have the full gold vintage Daytonas- with the ST-19 movement. Check out Josh or Andrew
  8. My wife had a later DJ from the 80s or so and she had a hard time keeping it wound- the auto-wind just didn't do the trick and she doesn't like to wear a watch to bed at night. I've since heard of other ladies having the same problem with the Ladies DJ. The other problem with the 6517/6516 is that it's going to be hard to get parts for it- Rolex just doesn't support the vintage watches- like the 5513/1680 and earlier. A 6917 would be a later watch- might still be able to find parts for it- late 70s-80s, I believe. I'll check tonight and see which watch she has- I just don't remember- she paid about $2K for hers and then had it serviced- but it's been 6-8 years ago.
  9. I agree with want Tom says. You could try winding the watch 30-50 times. If it's losing time after 14 hours, it could be a problem where the auto-wind assembly isn't working properly.
  10. Gotcha! So it would have the new glide-lock clasp.
  11. I thought TC used to sell a SD bracelet which was pretty good- don't know if he still has it or not
  12. That's an older dial- circa 1960 and it looks like the hands are Dauphine (pointed) from the picture. I don't think the value of a 6694 is that great to begin with, so w/o the SN probably won't hurt that much. I'd value this watch around $1000usd.
  13. Yes, as Justin says, the purists don't like to see someone put a Yuki dial in a 1002 and make an Explorer Now if you were able to find an original 5500 Explorer dial, then some of the purists might still talk to you, but not many. But around here, it's not that big a deal. But most of us know better than to try to show our wares over on TRF.
  14. The bracelet looks ok, but the clasp doesn't match- it's larger than the bracelet and I've never seen the numbers 62523 on a clasp. So you have a gen movement and maybe a gen crystal. It's a nice looking franken and the value is in the sum of the parts and what someone is willing to pay. Phong would sell a watch like this for $4500-5000 maybe. It will be interesting to see if this auction goes to conclusion like Joey says...
  15. Just bought the 8920-OB this week- the gold sub, black dial with the new Seiko NH35A and the old coin edge bezel- $$85 w/ S&H and tax included- just couldn't resist!
  16. 78350 w/ 455B endlinks is not a rivet bracelet number! 78350 is a late model 19mm oyster bracelet. 7206 would be a more appropriate rivet number for a 20 mm case. So anyway it's a rep rivet, what the heck. Nice pair of 1016s and with a rep bracelet you never have to worry about tearing the bracelet up. Enjoy!
  17. It's an interesting watch. I wonder how they get away with it- I would think that Rolex would try to put a stop to it, but who knows. Engraving on the back looks like 'Tempus Machina' I think I'm going to have to go for a HR 6538 Homage- just can't justify a $10K price tag for this watch!
  18. In the first pic, it looks like the lume at 9 o'clock is there- might be the shadow of the minute hand in the other two pics..
  19. Those TT jubilees hold up ok- the center links don't get that much wear and tear. It's a roll of the dice on whether or not a gen dial will fit in there- you just have to give it a go and see. I was never able to get a gen dial to fit in a rep DJ case until I got a case from Mymanmatt- the gen dial fit in there.
  20. You have to be a VIP or Platinum member to sell here. Maybe you could be come a VIP member for a month to sell the watch. The one thing about that watch is it has a swiss 2836-2 as opposed to an Asian 2836-2, which is a good thing.. But being an older watch, it might not bring that much- there are better models of the 16610LV out there these days.
  21. I just got a 5513 (3-6-9 dial) with the stubby crown guards from Josh- it's actually a very nice watch. I like the bracelet, dial, bezel insert and the dg2813 is keeping good time. I'll start working on it when I get back from vacation in a couple of weeks. Trim the cg's and put a smaller crown in there.
  22. Just looking at it, the bottom lettering looks lopsided, the 200m- 660ft part and SUBMARINER looks funny also
  23. I wonder if you offered to pay Matt by check or Western Union, if he might agree to build a watch for you. I know he had a recent issue with a scammer using paypal and if you paid by check or some other way, he'd avoid that paypal scenario.
  24. Yeh, I call it Son of Phong, But I've never bought anything from them. At any rate, it's all similar to Phong's stuff and must come from the same supplier over in Vietnam, I would think. I did buy from a lady out in the Phoenix area 5 years ago or so, but she was in the Glendale area- other side of town from Chandler- but they also move around.
