  1. Tell us what the SN is on the rehaut at 6 o'clock- looks like F520117 to me possibly- that would make it 2nd generation noob. But noobs had better bracelel engraving on the clasp as I recall.
  2. I would think the silver with open6/9 and flat top 3s.
  3. Circa 1973 makes it early. The funky crown emblem on the dial means it's referred to as a 'frog dial'. Bracelet is correct for the period. Everything looks pretty original to me.
  4. Beautiful and I call that the perfect formula for a great looking rep! Congrats
  5. My condolences. Last night I managed to cross thread a noobmariner caseback into the case- ugh! Afraid I ruined that case and caseback. Guess you need to order another dial and dg2813.. Hopefully it's only a $70 screw-up Here's a dg2813 http://www.ebay.com/itm/DG2813-Asian-2813-automatic-movement-GOLD-NEW-/321565853208?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4aded18618
  6. I'm surprised that the 2892-2 fits in there- the D cases are made for the 2836-2/ dg2813.
  7. This is the old noobmariner from 2008- gen crown and tube, Watchmaterial pearl, trimmed cgs, and backside of insert shaved to sit in bezel better. It had an eta movement and was my beater for quite a while- note the scratched insert. Watch was WR and went swimming quite a few times. Rehaut on your D case sub looks ok- I've seen it vary on these cases from fair to wokky. D320840 was the SN on one of my old sub cases- it was totaled out when I tried to drill lugholes in the case. One of the advantages of the noob case is that you can fit a gen dial in it- I got a noob case with the lugholes drilled from Omega over in Germany and put a matte dial in there and built a 16800- this was my beater for a number of years until I replaced the case with an ST 16800 case with gen bezel construction.
  8. Here's a complete 7928 on VRM- for $3,980- seems like a better deal than buying gen parts and putting together a franken http://www.network54.com/Forum/207673/message/1425573979/FS+Tudor+Submariner+7928+w-+lollopop+hand+nice+condition+-------+
  9. But does the D case take a gen crystal, retaining ring, washer, click spring and gen bezel assembly?
  10. Just think of it as $200 more than a $1000 Phong replica case! People rarely give away genuine vintage parts and $1200 seems reasonable to me.
  11. Date mag on gen DJs isn't all that great and to be honest Rolex doesn't really care all that much about it anyway- their position is if they're 100% gen rolex parts it's just fine. I don't know about the statements from Josh and Andrew, I think date mag is still supposed to be 2.5- but it's really not that important. But I do like the dial from Andrew better than the one form Josh.
  12. Josh has it w/ a quartz movt- http://www.pf-818.com/blct10002-colt-ssru-black-stknum-japanese-quartz-p-11809.html I think it comes either way in the gen, quartz or automatic
  13. The V72 build is usually more expensive- the movement alone typically costs $750-1000. The a 7750 also come with the 3/6/9 subdials which is like a 7753, and that's what you need. You can find them on ebay these days for $140-160.
  14. WOW! I love that TAG dial DVNE, makes for a sharp looking watch! How about some details on the build?
  15. After seeing what djulink did with his Tiger watch- his was a 5508, I've decided to try a dial mod to my Tiger 7928. Based on what Joey has said, mine is a V3 w/o lugholes- bummer- but has a plastic crystal- yea- and a non standard bezel assembly- boo-... I've ordered a 3/6/9 Rolex dial for dg2813 from rafflestime and figure I may have to file a mm from the diameter- the dial is 29 and I think I need 28 to fit in the Tiger case. But I figured out how to take the 1/2mm off the dial- my dremel like tool has an attachment where a screw screws into the shaft and I can put the dial on there between a couple of case tube gaskets and spin it in my cordless drill which I clamp in the vice on my workbench. Then I take a file and spin the dial and file it down. I also use some 320 grit wet dry at the end. I did this on another dial yesterday and it worked fine. So it appears to be fairly simple to get the dial in there. Don't know if I'll mess with the crown and tube and currently have no plans to drill the lugholes. Nobody knows what these watches are anyway! If I could get the crystal squared away and WR, I'd be happy with the watch as it is. The dg2813 is spinning like a racehorse!
  16. That early Sean case looks like a gen Rolex. I got an R serial last year and I was amazed at how thin the case was- similar to the 16800 cases My Eurotimez/MBW case is much thicker. But when TC is the only good case around, you've got to go with it!
  17. Speaking of Tiger-Concept, I just got the 7928 and it has no lugholes! It's a nice watch but I sure wish it had the lugholes. The a21j is doing very well. So I guess I could put a 28mm dial in there, but mine had cgs and a 6mm crown....
  18. @ rillesnille- the TC case is really the only case at this point that's still available. ST, Sean, etc are all gone and the only way to pick one up is thru M2M sales. My 16610 with lugholes is kind of like preacher62s- came from Eurotimez also, but had lugholes which had to be drilled to spec size, put a swiss eta in there, finally got a WM9 dial and hands with the good lume, rebuilt the bezel assembly with a gen crystal retention ring and aftermarket bezel, WM pearl and a 93150 with the 501B end pieces. Watch is WR but don't know if I'll go diving with it.
  19. Nice looking watch djulink, but it's more like a 5510 with the big crown and 200m rating. 5508 had a 100m rating and the small 6mm crown. Both had the 1530 movement and came out around 1958-9 and production ran into the early 60s.
  20. Sure wish that link to RA's write-up worked for me. A few years ago when RA started building his 1675s from the 1655 cases, it was the best thing out there- took a gen 116 crystal, you could put an aftermarket bezel and insert on there, reshape the case at the crown guards, install a good dial, hands and caseback and have a nice watch. The newer 1675 rep cases weren't around back then. I even built a Pan Am 1675 with a dial from Ingod44, but I hear he's no longer around Now days it might be easier to use the 1675 rep case
  21. Crown guards are too fat and stubby. A better dial picture would help, but the lume is too puffy. It ain't real!
  22. I think the engravings look pretty good, and I figured it was a gen case. Lugs have been polished If the movement inside is a 3075, you're in fat city!
  23. Yeha! CHS, great thin date font with open 9, nice thick lugs- it's a beaut! What year does this date from?
  24. alligoat

    7750!

Are you in the EU? That's where SSteel is, I believe. Also there's a guy- Domi who is there also.
