  1. the one that disappointed me the most (what was i thinking??!??) was the titanium AMG ingy chrono. extremely accurate watch, but it was just too blah for me. too much titanium plus, i should have known better buying a watch with the seconds at six 7750 movement thank goodness i sold it before it became an ugly paperweight deltatahoe
  2. a bunch of good, well reasoned responses from the RWG community -- that's what makes this place great deltatahoe
  3. umm...not sure what others would advise, but i definitely wouldn't sign and pay the fee. what watch from china? ignorance is bliss deltatahoe
  4. quick bump for cy's question above deltatahoe
  5. wow rolli....you've totally outdone yourself on this one deltatahoe
  6. kruzer, i just checked your update.....are you calling me a hoe??!?! kruzer, why am i not surprised that you've cannibalized one of your gens to create another franken <--- that's the wacko emoticon deltatahoe
  7. first off, welcome to RWG i have one of these b&r 03-92s and off the top of my head i believe it is a little thicker than the genuine, the screws aren't exactly in the right place on the dial, and the dial print is maybe not exactly the same, but these things don't bother me one bit (only a b&r enthusiast would notice this stuff) and it is good price for a fun, different watch. hope this helps deltatahoe
  8. not sure what to say....you will be missed. life takes many turns; hopefully there will come a day sometime down the road when it will be appropriate for you to come back and start spending time here again. in the meantime, enjoy the extra time with your kids and refocus on the things that really matter in life. best of luck, deltatahoe ps, be sure to keep at least one special watch that you can wear and remember your friends here at RWG
  9. to answer your question above, the only reps that are currently available with superlume out of the box are from davidsen... deltatahoe
  10. @ubi, your new photos are looking great i really love this one @dluddy, it's amazing how the double AR makes the 187 dial pop (particularly the blue of the 1000, which many comment as being too faded on the rep). folks, take another look at this picture -- just amazing deltatahoe
  11. V it is no surprise that you would find some great strap options for this new watch; i think the simona strap looks like the perfect compliment to that dial....it actually dresses up the brushed titanium finish of the watch a bit too, which makes for a unique look. wear it well deltatahoe
  12. in terms of the most accurate breitling replicas, i think most people would steer you to the following watches before the ones you chose (in this order): i) breitling steelfish superocean ii) breitling skyland avenger iii) breitling navitimer iv) breitling blackbird hope this helps. oh, and welcome to RWG deltatahoe
  13. wow -- i'm surprised....was expecting to like the black dial the best, but i agree, the blue dial is really nice moreover, rep dials rarely get the blue right, so the gen dial would likely be a pretty noticeable upgrade in this regard.... i think it would look great on a blue rubber strap deltatahoe
  14. welcome to RWG 7750 my suggestion: do a lot of reading before your first purchase -- the watches will still be around in a week and i think you'll find you will make better decisions about which watch is for you after reading up on people's thoughts/views on different watches... best of luck deltatahoe
  15. i'd be willing to be a hefty sum that captain america is a regular at one of the rep boards -- it is pretty obvious from his posts. not a bad thing though -- he's the only voice of reason in that thread.... deltatahoe
  16. gotta love the enthusiasm of a newbie @V, as you mentioned, a great compliment to your 112 in every way. now you just need a 190 to round out the collection i may just have to spring for a painted dial with the "panerai panerai panerai" engraved movement -- the combination is just deltatahoe
  17. looks great D. i may need to upgrade the AR coating on my 187....i have one of the early 1st generation chieftang coatings, and it certainly doesn't look as good as yours... congrats on another beautiful piece getting packages back from ziggy is like Christmas morning as a kid deltatahoe

    IWC Pilot

that's a hktan distressed brown leather pilot strap i know this because i bought one back in may and just received it a week ago deltatahoe
  19. @pfran, totally hilarious but also very true -- atlanta is full of single attractive women deltatahoe
  20. i'm not familiar with prices on the snowflake, but for the gmt, it really depends on what you're looking for. prices for an all-original 1675 seem to be in the $5,500 to $6,000 range, depending on the condition. but you can pick one up for considerably less than that (as low as $3,750) if having the original dial/hands/insert isn't that important to you. keep an eye on timezone, ebay and the other used watch sales forums -- there are generally quite a few out there at any given time. shoot me a PM if you'd like some other sites to track. hope this helps, deltatahoe
  21. that's easy -- gmt wins hands down in my book deltatahoe
  22. as you mentioned, i think the modern design demands a more modern (non-vintage) looking strap. i generally keep my 063 on a black prada strap by jose tan.... deltatahoe
  23. it's funny that you mention this nanuq -- i've told many friends that the last couple months have been particularly rich for me. leaving a city that i've lived in for six years has really been an eye-opening experience. i was blessed with lots of deep relationships in sf, and pulling up the roots and moving to another city helped me recognize how thankful i am for those friendships. at the same time, as i turn the page to a new chapter in life, blessings have continued to abound, from big things like finding an incredible place to live to the countless little details that have fallen into place along the way. i'm also thankful of course for great watches and the little pleasures that they provide, but they pale in comparison to the more meaningful things in life. that's why it's the people and not the watches that make RWG such a great place. deltatahoe
