  1. @rocket, i'm assuming you're going to somehow take the dial and eliminate the 'wave' marks? b/c otherwise this dial is pretty accurate? TWP has been responding to my PMs; let me know if you want/need me to order this watch for you. deltatahoe
  2. everyone will have differing opinions about who makes the best straps. strapmasters (particularly their XaMas line) is generally regarded as being one of the best, along with dirk, who actually just re-entered the strap selling scene (see his post here on paneristi) -- too bad his new buckles have the ugly dirk cursive writing engraved on them. part of the appeal of the PAV 91 was that it was one of the original hides that was used to make straps for genuine panerai watches back in 1993 (which was the beginning of the "rebirth" of the brand before the pre-vendome acquisition of panerai in 1997). deltatahoe
  3. so people were talking in the PAV thread about how crazy it is for a strap to sell for $269; how about a single buckle for $600??! (click here for link to post on paneristi trading forum) @V, any history on these buckles? deltatahoe
  4. @vbarrett, congrats! i think you'll be pleased with the mario paci PAV 91 -- i received mine yesterday and it is a real looker deltatahoe
  5. just happened upon this thread. @cornerstone, are you a gemsa test proctor or psychologist? deltatahoe btw, i'm going to guess D on your last question....
  6. this definitely hasn't turned me off of gens; i posted about it here to dispel the myth that gens never have any of the issues that our reps have. since i've made the leap for my first gen, i'm actually a little worried that it will be tough not to get another....i'm tempted to treat myself to one genuine watch per year, but this could get a little ridiculous. surely the obsession will subside? deltatahoe btw, stephane may be responsible for my next gen purchase -- ever since he posted about the new squadra jlc line i've been contemplating this as my next genuine watch
  7. typically tang buckles have springbar type pins holding the buckle to the strap... it should be pretty easy -- you might have to mash down the strap a bit to get at the pin though (not sure if this makes sense or not).... deltatahoe
  8. interesting. i'll remember to take a look at the staying power of the lume on my u2 this weekend -- it should glow forever after being outside on a boat all day. fwiw, i checked the watchbuy's website re: the lume on the u1 and u2; both descriptions say that they come with super luminova. deltatahoe
  9. fortunately i live in california i think i'll leave it on the window sill tomorrow deltatahoe
  10. V!!! you are crazy not one but TWO mp pav 91's??!? i have to confess though -- i broke down and bought an mp pav 91 at a nice discount...hopefully some pictures to follow this weekend... deltatahoe
  11. happy bday cableguy you should have a drink in addition to a pumpkin uPO deltatahoe
  12. glad you're happy with your pams ms. barrett definitely time for a new strap for that minifiddy deltatahoe
  13. the lume on my u2 is actually really good (it's super luminova), it's definitely similar to my pams. white super luminova is just a bit less luminous than the greenish (c3, i believe?) super luminova; i wonder if that is why you think it is pretty weak...
  14. looking great V....can't wait for mine to develop a nice patina (need to wear my 112h more!) deltatahoe
  15. exactly collecting reps is FUN -- that's one of the things that helps me justify the ongoing expense -- it's not just about the watches. i really enjoy myself while learning about watches and interacting in this great community. deltatahoe
  16. thanks re: the collection/strap compliments....i need to update my thread....i've added quite a few watches since i last updated it wow -- i hadn't heard that re: the white dial bce it is the classiest version of the bce imho -- i can't believe they wouldn't make more dials... deltatahoe
  17. consider yourself warned. don't get mad at me when i say "i told you so" deltatahoe
  18. welcome to RWG aegis -- hold onto your wallet -- it's in for quite a ride deltatahoe
  19. whatever you do, don't buy one of those ugly hockey pucks. because if you do, pretty soon you will have 8 pams, at least 16 straps and several trips to ziggy for mods panerai.....bet you can't buy just one. deltatahoe
  20. just an aside for anyone out there wanting the ETA valjoux wheels -- the wheels can be purchased from cousins for ~$6.00 for day wheels and ~$7.40 for date wheels; shipping to the US is expensive though -- about $17 for my mini group buy. you can see my mini-group buy thread for links to the different wheels. @euno, she's a beauty i'll be sending mine to ziggy shortly for the same upgrades (less the movement swap)....i can't wait deltatahoe
  21. glad you returned safely....any more pics for us?
