  1. Quality of a WM9 is right up there with $500 to $1500 gens in my opinion. At least the BK versions with Swiss ETAs, Clark Crystals, BK Crowns. Although if I were going off to battle, I would probably put a Seiko, Doxa or Ball on my wrist before heading off. There is something to be said for "in-house" tweaks, and overall Quality Control. Then again, my 15 year old Venice Beach Submariner with actual Miyota movement is still working after all these years...
  2. Depends on usage. If you want a watch for swimming/diving, I would take something like a Seiko if that was the intended use. This also applies if you are looking for more of a worry free experience from a more 'complicated' watch. There are also notable stand outs "for the price of 2 Super Reps" you can get into the Doxa, Ball, Tag (Qtz), Omega (Qtz), Hamilton, etc... Poke around at Jomashop.com to see how far your dollar can go in the grey market. (Todays Deal of the Day is a $649 Oris Williams F1 watch and they have Tag F1's for $545) But, if you are going for the high end 'look' or 'rare' item, Super & Franken is the way to go.
  3. Very Nice Love the bracelet!
  4. @Eton great pic and watch! Going with:
  5. There is in fact software that looks for excess "Flesh Tones", so basically, yep...
  6. ^^^Bottom Right^^^ Now that is HOT!!!!
  7. MBW's seem to pretty solid in this area. My MBW 5513 just passed a pressure test to 100ft.

    SuperFoods

@AllergyDoc - Based on my seafood and Sushi consumption I should be dead! Yikes! No more twice a week Sushi for me.... As far as SuperFoods and supplements, I suggest reading this book: http://www.michaelpollan.com/indefense.php "In Defense of Food". Basically, eat "real" food not the processed garbage, eat in moderation and exercise and you should not need to stress yourself out about the latest SuperFood study, or buying $$$ supplements. If you are concerned about a certain health issue / heredity, your money would probably be better spent on a DNA analysis 23andme.com and then simply target what you might be susceptible to instead of playing the broad spectrum supplement game. (i.e. If you have the genetic marker for Prostate Cancer, you would be better off focusing on that). Just a thought.
  9. Common Courtesy, and manners in general seem to be an endangered species these days. This extends well beyond the forums. Try hosting a party / get together, and asking for RSVPs so you know how much food to buy, etc.... Same problem.
  10. First, thank you to T/Admin for fixing the search feature, which led me to this post. I had the exact same thing happen to me today on my ETA powered 5513. I am going to attempt to repress the bearing to the rotor using my crystal/jewelers press. Any recommendations/thoughts if any Loctite or adhesive between the weight and the race should be used?
  11. The question now is, how does the subdial spacing factor in?
  12. Doah! Must have been the alcohol... hahaha --- 1:0.95 (better)
  13. Pushers look great, the whole watch looks great.
  14. Another great watch!!!
  15. Terms are pretty meaningless. Just examine the specs and pictures, and compare as needed to gen's, or other high end versions here on the forum. There was a PT prototype 1665 that was released about 6 months ago as well, and lets just say-- best is not how many would describe it. These prototypes are however are a step in the right direction as they do tend to mimic the original construction of the gen in terms of bezel, crystal, retaining rings, etc -vs- one piece case with glued inaccurate crystals. They can provide a cheap base for mods. Also, 1:1 is usually more like 0.95:0.95. I am waiting for them to begin using Apple marketing terms next: Magical, Wonderful, Best way to tell time, Revolutionary....
  16. Yep. I am averaging one full week, 7 days, from the other side of the world. BUT I always budget for 2 full weeks, and even then still don't get worried/check tracking unless one month has passed.
  17. @LHOOQ - that is a beauty!
  18. +1 save your money. Find a local rep-friendly watch shop, or use someone like Zig, Vac, et. al. Hint: (and not to be stereotypical), but find a local Asian run "Watch & Jewelry" "Fix-It" repair shop. Often times in malls. NOT a KIOSK. These shops will generally work on anything rep/gen as long as they are getting paid. In my case, there is an older, experienced guy at the one by me who just pressure tested my 5513 for $5.00 on good quality equipment. He also sports an old-school Vibrograph like Zig's! Movement service gets a little trickier based on their knowledge and training. YMMV. If the watch is a "keeper" / "grail" stick with out trusted guys.
