I have the prototype noob 2013 sub and it already runs rings round the quality of the bp!!! It needs modding to be close but that's nothing new. The gen crystal fits perfectly and there is no need to use the bp gasket as the noob is perfectly repped dimensionally. The case is better and more crisply finished and the bracelet is excellent like the noob exp quality. Cg's are better and the crown is nice whereas bp is poor on these parts! Here is a quick pic to give an idea. Hopefully the finished product will impress us more than the bp and prototype model. I have a gen crystal fitted and a wm9 v3 dial with bp markers and hands.
I thought the sd pic was gen but I can now see it is rep. The cg is not quite right and the hands look rep but this is very promising though. You are a tease Thomas!
Gen tube does not have an external gasket hence lower water resistance rating.
Yours looks good. Lugs on my first black model were horrible and rounded. Second one had better squared lug but still not as good as gen. Your sel looks the best I've seen. Lume on the black is also good and better than the white dials!
The dial is glossy but not a major issue as it is well printed and finished.
Great review and Thankyou for the time taken to do this!!
I was quite impressed with the yuki movement and would have another someday if the project required it.
Londongeorge87 is the only guy I know who can source these and he has only ever had one that I know of and it is the one you see above I'm afraid. I have 2 noob black dial exp2's arriving shorlty and hopefully this crystal will end up in one and the other I will sell as my brother no longer wants one!!:-(
A few weeks ago I bought what may now be the only genuine 42mm AR crystal that Londogeorge can get and have now fitted it inside the current 42mm Exp 2. I have trimmed the crown guards and stripped it down and centered the DW overlay(hoping to get an eta date wheel that is printed with the Rolex font soon which will shrink the date down to better size) and fitted the gen crystal!
The date is still larger than it should but because this is a physically bigger watch it does not look too bad now it has a much improved cyclops and AR clarirty!!
Will will see what the Noob version has and looks like soon hopefully but until then enjoy the pics of my "watcher model"
A gen case back fitted the previous upo as I was the first to do it a while ago. I ordered one from cousins uk at the time. I'm sure it will still fit as the case is pretty much the same and just has improved features.
A great review as always my friend and the watch looks great now.
The v1 end links are very good, a shame they changed them on the next watch version!
Enjoy wearing in good health buddy and nice to see you back on the forum!!:-)
I have one in bits and it does have an overlay on the wheel. Are you sure that you are talking about the 42 mm as it does have a wider wheel print than a standard 40mm watch as I have tried the bk/tc overlay to no avail.
