  1. In what has become an annual event, the world record has fallen once more. And, the 1,5000 pound barrier was broken. The largest pumpkin ever grown is 1,502 pounds. It was grown by Ron Wallace of Greene, Rhode Island. It was weighed in on October 7, 2006 at the Rhode Island Weigh-off.

He was sooo happy when he found out he won:

    Too much time?

  2. Nice one David. FYI, Europelli Cordovan is Horween as well

Yes, I have a three or four Europelli Shell Cords... Really nice straps they are, and Drew is a pleasure to deal with... BigB (Bruce) also sells Horween Shell Cord straps, although I like Drews' better, there just seem to be a bit more quality to the finish.

Before Greg came out with these, I've never seen straps made from Horween leather (this strap is not shell cordovan)... the closest I've come to this type of hyde is a Dirk I bought a while back...

It has an almost rubberized texture to it, similar to the older PreV and PrA rubberized calf straps. Very nice stuff, pure luxury!

  3. Sweet Strap David...

    On a very nice piece...

Attached to a hell of guy...

    Wear it well friend...

Very nice David.. Only thing I don't like are the HUGE holes...

If he was selling them without opened holes I would have thought of getting one..

    Thanks guys

I kinda like the portholes... they go well with the oversized keeper.

Not sure, but I think he does custom work V ;)

  4. I just had to post photos of this strap I just purchased... Unfortunately, no photos (especially mine lol) can convey how wonderful this leather feels and smells.

I bought a GS Crazy Horse a while back from Quarks (where are ya buddy??), but it didn't suit me or my watch at the time...

A friend of mine here bought one of the Horween leather straps from Greg and it just felt amazing... Had to have one...

Anyway, for all you strap freaks... if you want a funky cool strap made out of one of the finest leathers in the world, I'd highly recommend this or a variation of it. It's thick, supple, almost a rubbery texture to it, and it smells just amazing!

    Here are some pics...

  5. It's great that you have something to offer, however you should understand that we are all

looking out for one another, as this is an illegal game we are playing here, so please don't expect

us to roll out the red carpet and point the way to sources for someone that we have no knowledge of.

I hope you can understand, and also that the posts pointing you to the source by search, was

being polite, as that is the best they can do under the circumstances.

... And I will add to RT's post that if every new guy on the block asked these questions, there would be no space left on the forum.

We all have questions when joining a new hobby/forum... The best thing to do is to take a week or two and just read, and read, and then read some more.... and after you've read more, refine your searching and read even more.

After that, is the best time to start asking questions...

    In other words... patience grasshopper.

AND WELCOME TO OUR LITTLE CORNER :thumbsupsmileyanim:

  6. The length of this thread is truly amusing... keep it going please.

@andreww-I would rather put this all to rest. I and I am sure other members have grown tired of this matter.

Not me... I haven't even put a dent in my pocorn yet

I again cry out- I am not Joe.

Are you at least sleeping with him? Maybe a li'l lick down the middle?? :p

Thanks to Joe for making both watches light up my weekend.

I dunno Denise... but I have known a lot of women, from all kinds of sectors... And I haven't ever met one with the enthusiasm you have for your husband's hobby of collecting replica watches  Especially to the point of getting all excited about one watch modders' service and quality.

The conflicting numbers are confounding my abacus

  7. I will be offering a run or two for micro-bead blasting and PVD coating (TiAlN) depending on the interest.

I have already contacted a company I have worked with previously for pricing and schedule. They should be back to me soon.

They do an excellent job from my experience.

As soon as I get the pricing and other info together, I will start a thread to guage interest. If we can get 10 or more watches together for a run, I think it will be worth it. Right now, I would think the price could be around 180-200 depending.

The main issue for some will be that the watches will have to be disassembled and ready for coating before sending them to me. I have not the time or skills to do that part myself, and with reps, there are too many things that can go wrong that I wouldn't want to be responsible for.

  8. personally, i think the 217 belongs on a europelli black shell cordovan w/ gold stitching (see subzero1's pics here)...

    237786-10752.jpg

Yes... I'll vouch for the shell cord for the 217... you can't get much better unless maybe an MP or Dirk black with copper/gold stitch. White or off-white stitch would also go well with either.

For the 127 Fiddy, I would also recommend a europelli shell cord, but maybe in caramel or tan...

All in all, there are many great straps available for both watches... one thing's for sure, you'll need more than one! Welcome to the madness!

  9. the pics are beautiful, who can tell me where to buy from?

Can I pay with credit card or paypal or wire transfer, how?

Been lurking for a week or two, ready to go now.

    lewblock@gmail.com

    thanks

Well there's this guy, his name is Luke. Lives somewhere in CT down some street, around some corner.

  10. Great choice! I would have bought this one too if not for its somewhat small size.

I think the errors you are seeing is due to the shots being so close to the watch, plus them being not completely straight-on. They are a very high quality watch and don't have the obvious flaws that some of our reps are plagued with.
