  1. Mount all of the hands in the correct order ( you can skip the sweep ) and then set the watch. Now how do they all fit?
  2. You're right on the Silix Logo. It popped out easy and slipped in to my 42mm 4th gen with no problem. My guess is the spacing is the same. That being said it's a pain in the butt to remove all those hands and recase for such a tiny improvement. Now if I could fix that date sinker at the same time I'd buy one in a NY second. Here's my 42mm with the flat feet: Sorry for the poor photo but I've still got work to do on a watch.
  3. ok, just for you Big D.
  4. I've been looking for a "close" out of the box GMT and after discussions with Kbiz decided on the 186. I did quite a bit of gen to rep comparison and about the only thing I could see was a need to bring in the CG lever. The mag is good, the dial close to spot on and the date font really close to gen. The back is close. So, an email to sead and the question - how about a sead cg to fit. Sead agreed that the only thing needed was the CG. So, here it is with a sead cg and I think looking quite accurate. I've mixed in a couple of gen shots as well so you be the judge:
  5. Interesting. I've got a saved search on that dial. I must be doing something wrong. I need the new dial in black.
  6. Get on Leo's list for a 7753 the next time he runs them. Jim
  7. It will fit. I've got an old skool 188 (same case) with an ETA 7753 and a Lello date wheel. Date sets at 10 and works perfect. Get yourself a Leo date wheel,t48 crown, some dsn hands, and you are looking good. Put your name on Leo's list for his next run of 7753 wheels. His first run sold out immediately. Jim
  8. I just priced a gen dial - $420 plus shipping. No thanks. What with the painted Chronos having the curly feet $420 is simply too much for me to spend to correct the logo not that I wouldn't like to correct it. Jim
  9. I've dealt with Joe Hemrajani for 20 years. He's very traditional and uses only the finest fabrics. His brother runs the shop. My tailor
  10. The Omega Logo is painted on the dial: hence the curly toes, right? I spent about an hour last week talking to the owner of the authorized Omega repair center here and we determined that the majority of the painted logos have curly feet and all of the applied markers with two feet to go into the dial have flat feet. We referenced over 20 of each in comparison. jim
  11. Why won't the 7754 fit? Jim
  12. I've got hands coming from DSN and now I'm waiting for Jakob to run 063 case backs. The movement rings are fine and the movement sits at the same height. What I'd really love to find is a Gen dial.
  13. Excellent work and you have the satisfaction of finding that screw you dropped in the carpet and the reminder to always work on hardwood floors. Great job! Jim
  14. Thanks for the tips. I've got pricing from DSN and ordered. In comparing hands the only one that doesn't fit from a 2836 is the GMT hand. The rest fit quite nicely. Palp crown Lello DW Chief heading to Vac shortly old skool case Getting closer, Thanks for the help. Jim
  15. I'd be tempted to wear it "case out". That is one beautiful watch. Congtrats!!
  16. I'm in the process of changing over to a 2893-2 in my 063 & 029 except for one little problem: the hole size on the 24 hour hand isn't close. The hole is too big on the 2836 and too thin to pinch. I need to locate two 24 hands for the 2893-2 or a suggestion on how to fit the 2836-2 24 hour hand to the 2893-2. Thanks, Jim
  17. So, they're selling both the date and the non date big triangle which is very rare without the military circle T. They're good looking and i bet would fit a 552 or 565. Jim
  18. I wonder how the lume is? Dug mine out of the safe and gave it some daylight: I always forget how cool that bezel looks all lit up>
  19. I need one! One of my favorite Speedys!!
  20. Brodie is a pleasure to deal with and the parts arrived fast!

    Thanks!!

  21. I've got a drawing out for bids. Minimum quantity may be the issue.
  22. Gen and I bet it has a serial number on the inside of the lug at 7 o'clock. Jim
