  1. It's time to do the hands! A must do!
  2. The Speedy Collections begins............. Congrats!
  3. My link failed so here you go:
  4. That watch never came from the factory with those hands. Verified by Chuck Maddox. I have an original and it looks like this: SM 200
  5. I like the old classic 42 but I'm an old skool watch guy. The real deal killer, love or just like it, is the 3313. They are nothing but problems that don't seem to get fixed. Search 3313 on the Omega message board for some serious gripes. Jim
  6. I meant to say NOT CURRENT.
  7. And this box is current with all the limited "New" Speedy editions. It's been for sale for over a year and not a budge on the price.
  8. I forgot just how nice this watch looks open. Any suggestions where I can get a display back?
  9. I forgot how pretty this movement is. I may have to find a display back as well. Any suggestions?
  10. It's a beauty and as the late, great, Chuck Maddox always said "one is just a start!" The old rule was if you talk to Chuck for more than 1/2 hour you end up buying the watch you were talking about! Don't stop now - you must have more ! ! ! Jim
  11. It's on my Black dial SM300 Chrono.
  12. R, The 14755 is a true classic. If you ever need a bezel insert for one, I have duplicated it. The true test of accuracy was that one of my 14755 sold at Antiquorum with the insert. Jim
  13. So now I got a chance to look at the 98. what's the take on this watch and movement? Pam 098
  14. I need to sell some watches. I think this may be the nicest Pam I've seen. The detail is awesome right down to the crowns. I like my 172 and 188 but.......this watch is it for me!
  15. R, That lume shot got me wondering - I wonder how the lume still is on my.........well you know the watch: Old skool lume
  16. Is it for sale? It's a nice look. I really like the way the sub dial cluster on that dial. Jim
  17. Has anyone ever made a rep of the 184?
  18. A good rule of thumb is if you have the "linked" OMEGA word then you need the longer gen hands. BTW, the sub dial hands are longer as well. Jim
  19. Remember the new blue model has the same longer hands and Omega markings as the black dial. Jim
  20. If you're going with the Black dial it's a $325.00 or more fix for a new dial. I made a few changes to mine including the movement, hands, etc. and simply can't justify the cost to fix the curly toes and the connections on Omega. Further, after the curly toes appearing on a gen dial on another model I'm even less bothered. Here's a wrist shot of the gen and a close up of my rep with the mods and double AR: Jim
  21. I've been buying from Joe since the late 70's. He comes to Seattle about 3-4 times a year. Before Joe I was dealing with a local tailor and paying much more for far less quality. His fabrics are the best. I've also visited his brother Albert in HK where they have the shop. He can do just about anything you want duplicated from a GQ. Jim
  22. Try this site: He's had some great stuff in the past:WBK
  23. I don't do button down. They reek of East Coast Preppy. For work it's 2 1/2" collar with stays, right cuff larger than the left since I'm left handed, two button cuff, bottom button always unbuttoned to show a peek of the watch.
  24. Last night I get a call from a friend and watchmaker. He's holding a gen Seamaster SM300 Chrono, Blue dial, circa 1994. This watch is 100% gen as we walk through detail of case back, movement, serials, on and on. Then he drops the bomb. The dial has curly toes and so does the Omega logo inside the caseback. I'm talking curl just like our reps. What to do next since the watch is in for a complete service, and bracelet refinish. Off comes the dial. Gen all the way. So, armed with every number from the watch look what comes up: My link Curly all the way. I've been noticing more curly toes on some early gens as well. In fact my 165.024 has the slightest curl. Very Interesting!!
