  1. Yeah, I understand. Maybe he finally realized he is overbooked and is refusing new work by non-replies. I don't know.
  2. Zigmeister has a personal secretary to handle his communications, and even then it's frowned upon to communicate unnecessarily. I"m not excusing the lack of communication - I'm trying to lay out what to expect. You send your piece to Vac and you get it back in immaculate shape 3+ months later. Trying to email him is not recommended. When my project with him hit 10 weeks, I titled my email "10th week update" and that got a reply.
  3. Vaccum doesn't really reply. His normal turnaround is 3 months. Or a little more.
  4. Exactly - I have nothing against the higher end dealers, except for their higher prices. I hope all the new folks coming in take the time to learn about the honest mom n pop shops as well.
  5. the dealer page is often wildly out of date. only a couple of the dealers visit here regularly, and maintain their presence. the hungriest ones, who want/care about your business.
  6. Ok, I honestly had no idea that the new Explorer II allows a GMT function. The Explorer II model 1655 does not do this. The watch was designed to be and was billed as an explorer's watch, and the orange hand is for cave explorers and under-sea immersion divers to know if it is day or night. Frankly, Rolex makes GMT watches, and has for decades... why include a GMT function on the Explorer
  7. The Explorer does not have a GMT hand. It has a 24 hour hand. Only the replica allows you to independently adjust this hand. It's an utterly devastating tell. I just thought you should know.
  8. Does the 24 Hour hand work properly? It's supposed to be in sync with the hour hand. (it should point to 5 or 17 in that photo)
  9. Since this serviced movement stopped working, I doubt it will need another service .. just a repair, and that is not going to be anywhere near 200 dollars. Why not send it to a trusted repair dude in the euro zone like Rolexman ..
  10. As it always has been .. when you go to Ken, you really need to know what you want beforehand. He sends large approval pics.
  11. WatchEden lists 1200+ Hublot item. I cant search it all for you, but here http://www.watcheden.net/hublot-c-2-c-108.html good luck.
  12. As far as my opinion is concerned, Vaccum is the #1 lume man nowadays. Other people do lume, and they are fine, and they should keep praciticing. I dont mean to shit on anyone's work .. just keep practicing. the microscopic stripes adjacent to the date window on my vac-lumed 500M
  13. Altho Trevor is reliable, he is notorious for not following up after-sales. Each dealer is different in how they treat you. SOME dealers do not hold your hand, and Trevor is one of those people.
  14. Welcome to the forum! You're off to a brilliant start by doing exactly what you're doing .. reading and learning ..
  15. WHO THE HELL charged you 200 dollars for servicing a movement upon which a child learns watchmaking?? I would burn his damn shop to the ground.
  16. bump what .. that is the correct answer, from pete.
  17. What country are you in? That will help us know who to send you to.
  18. This post is years old, and links on the Internet do not last forever. A couple years if you are lucky ...
  19. Absolutely. I never meant to add anything but perspective. Keep on doing what you do best.
  20. We are in the arena of hyper-anal hobbyists here. A quarter of a milimeter tail is not an "obvious tell" keep it real
  21. The author of this thread is showing off his genuine Reverso
  22. Hi Chad ~ keep in mind the nature of this hobby. It's shady at best. Edit your post, and remove your personal email address. Simply ask people to send you a message on the private message system (PM) existing on this board. It's just in your best interest. To answer your question, the trusted dealers do not make their own watches. Each of them buys from the very same factories as the other dealers. The list of trusted dealers is on the main page of the forum. Here's a dealer list with an extensive collection. http://www.watcheden.net/search-products--Reverso--common--1--0--1.html
  23. There are only two high quality models, not several. Both are nice .. just pick which you like better. If you want a pre-modded DSSD, then contact BK .. he imports small quantities from the NoobFactory into the US, and re-sells them.
