  1. I don't think any of these bridges will fool a seasoned collector and who else would want to take a look at the movement? I've got an unbranded V726 ticking away in my 6265 and though I am normally for 100% accuracy I won't spend a single dime on a movement bridge. I also fear that maybe the function of the movement might get affected by exchanging a part like this, since as alligoat has pointed out correctly, they aren't always constructed the same.
  2. The new ones from Baselworld look pretty similar, only the dial seems not be as shiny. I tried on a LM at the local Omega Boutique some time ago and I have to say it looks pretty stunning in the flesh! I'm not too sure about the dial for daily use, though. It's really, really blingy and very similar to the GMTIIC's bezel. Here's a bad picture from Basel, the watch pictured supposedly is the new 42mm version with 8500 caliber . Size wise pretty similar, only about one mm thicker, 15,7mm if I remember correctly and with display back (the 8500 is beautiful so I won't say anything about tool watches ).
  3. That's make it even more special, kudos to your late buddy! Thanks for sharing!
  4. That's a beauty, Nanuq, amazing! Freddy yours is stunning, too!
  5. Quick IPhone pic, but finally with correct bezel from DW. Quality is excellent, I think I'm done for now. DW Case, Valjoux 726, Cousins pushers, gen Sigma dial , crown, T21 and 78350 bracelet with 571 endlinks.
  6. Tastes differ, I for one really like this design and having owned an old AT I would not go that route again. Check the sales corners of gen forums, you will usually find better prices there than on ebay. Good luck with your search.
  7. The Cal. 8500 version is available in 38.5 and 41.5mm. You should really check it out, it's a huge improvement over the Cal. 2500 version. I had the blue dial version of the one sold on ebay once. It came without box and papers and I paid around 900€ (~$1300) for it. I wasn't overly impressed with it since the AR was really horrible and sold it pretty soon. Since I don't care for box and papers I would not pay more than $1500 for the one you posted. Resale value of these is poor, the black one is usually more desirable than the other versions on the second hand market though.
  8. Looks fine IMO. I wouldn't pay 2k for one of these though, even with box and papers. You should be able to get the newer Cal. 8500 version which will have a far better resale value and superior movement for around 2300-2500 incl. box and papers.
  9. I love projects like this, sounds very promising. Thanks for the effort!
  10. I don't like that at all, I think it looks cheap! But, hey, put me up for one 6263 bezel if he agrees to make on. Keep us posted! My 35th says hello!
  11. The dial on the right is not a 6263/6265 dial but a 6239 version. Though there are numerous 6263/6265 dial versions, they always have Oyster printed on them.
  12. Well, the dial's from around 74, so here's an "old" picture of my Sigma Cosmograph I'm wearing today...
  13. +1 Gen is the only upgrade from DW's dials at the moment. Edit: Try vintage watch fairs, I was at one yesterday and was amazed what was for sale. I saw a numerous vintage Daytona dials, but didn't ask for prices. The dials I was looking for (5513s and 1680s) were priced pretty competitively however. I also almost bought a 6265 bezel with a price too good to be true until the seller eventually noted that it was aftermarket (I didn't think stuff like that was allowed there - lucky me he was fair enough to tell me). So there too, you will have to be careful and know your stuff but there are also plenty of good parts around.
  14. I don't know anything about the others, but here's an interesting article about the three different meters first submariner dial versions. I am also considering a 1680 MF beater project and for me personally the best aftermarket MF 1680 dial is PT's 1680. By far. MQ, NDT and Ingod44 are all severly flawed. If you have a look at the crown logo, fonts used or even the distance between some letters (see "E" of the Oyster Perpetual DatE) these are all very inaccurate. For me PT's version seems to be the most accurate version (at least at mimicking the printing), the others just don't justify the asking price. My plan was to get a MF PT 1680 and have the dial relumed and slightly aged. In my opinion this would be both the most cost-effective and also most accurate version right now.
  15. Coronet looks way off. Looks like DW's standard version.
  16. Explorer II? edit: wroooong. Nice parts, great find, looking forward to the finished product!
