  1. I am unclear as to what you mean by '45-60 minutes before it decides its ready to go'? Do you mean the watch sits motionless for about an hour after you manually wind it several times, or do you mean it runs slow/fast for an hour before keeping proper time? In either case, a properly serviced watch should run fine from the start. If not, it requires (proper) servicing.
  2. Try contacting them directly.
  3. Enjoy YOUR day!
  4. Other than the prescribed end links that come permanently fitted to 7205 bracelets, I have used 357s on my 7835 folded link bracelets for 62xx Daytonas. That said, I believe, like the 357s, they will fit (loosely) if you can get them fitted to your bracelet. What end links are on the bracelet now?
  5. Love the understated dial, Ubi. Another classic. I have something similar waiting in the pipeline as well.
  6. Unlike most, my primary goal on ebay is locating hard-to-find parts & for this it is exemplary. Once the acquisition of Rolex parts became a high priority, pricing, as a deciding factor, took a back seat. For me, the salient issue is being able to locate what I am looking for. If I can get the item for a good price, that is just icing on the cake.
  7. That is what I did for my Phase I 6542. The only problem is that, because of the differing bph of each movement, the GMT hand runs a bit fast when transplanted to the slower beat 2846. This means that, shortly after you set the watch, the 24-hour hand will become slightly inaccurate relative to the hour hand.
  8. This watch today But on fewer wheels I rarely know what I will wear in the future, but I am attending a dinner with a 'mystery guest', so only 1 watch will do
  9. Looks good. Here is a gen xtal for comparison
  10. I guess I am alone then. I was brought up & continue to believe that a Rolex watch is a mark of sophistication & success. Although I do own/wear Rolex watches - gen & rep - because of their design, history & technicalities, I also want to be seen wearing them. And I make no bones about that. Otherwise, at least in the case of reps, I would opt, instead, for any 1 of the much-better-quality gen copycat watches that are made with new/serviced movements, come with proper QC & a 1-3 year warranty.
  11. I think it bears repeating that most gen owners (I am not talking about serious Rolex collectors here) know NOTHING about these watches. Same goes for the average counter sales people in most ADs. Similarly, some gen owners have reported being criticized for wearing a 'fake' Rolex. So, unless you tend to habit locales where watch collectors may be in residence, I think alot of our collective neurosing over details is mostly for our own benefit.
  12. The word 'Patent' appeared, fleetingly, on a number of models. I believe its absence, alone, should not be a cause for concern.
  13. I agree, but would add that the GMTIIC is a super rep out-of-the-box &, unless you do not fit the stereotype of someone who could afford an expensive watch, the average guy/gal on the street is NOT going to call you out on it.
  14. You want the mating surfaces to contact each other over as broad an area as possible. So if the mating surface of the tube is flat, you would want the mating surface on the case to be similarly flat. If the mating surface of the tube is beveled (as many gens are), then you want to countersink the hole to provide a similar bevel to mate with the case. In some cases, you may countersink a hole simply to lower the height of the crown (when it is closed/screwed down). However, if you countersink & use a flat-bottomed tube, then you will need to fill in the space between the bevel of the case & the bottom of the tube to insure a proper seal.
  15. Still wearing this early Friday morning
  16. I guess they are only included with modern tubes, which I rarely use. Currently, I only have these 2 Twinlock tubes on-hand & the packages contain only 1 tube & 1 gasket
