I bought his brand new 1675 bezel assembly last week. It seems very crisp and well made. It came with the crystal retaining ring, bezel, friction washer, and insert. It was 40$ when I bought mine but he's raised the price to 50$. I hadn't noticed a new sub bezel, does that come with retaining ring?

I don't know the value. I have a similar one to that I don't wear because I think they are in the 15-30k$ range.

You could buy a phong hev and install it, or on the cheap... find the right silex rep with a working hev like Freddy did and use that.

Nothing wrong with wanting and buying a gen, after all..a gen is a gen. As far as handing down, I personally wouldn't hand down a rep..with one exception: if the son and I both enjoyed the hobby together. Gens and reps are two different things. I owned a 16610 and a Dj in the the early 90's and before that a few Omegas. I had to sell almost everything I owned to get through a bad divorce. I doubt I will ever have the extra money to spend on nice watches as I did back then and that's what drew me here. I'd say if you have the extra money and have the desire..buy a nice watch that fits your hand down plan and don't look back.

Little side note in history: M did indeed buy the new case for this watch, and transferred his Omega parts to his new case. He has a wonderful writeup and pictorial of that watch too somewhere.. I was fortunate to be able to adopt his case set ...and with his help, collect all the parts to build my very own sm300

Welcome to the forum Charles! You know the thread is 2 years old? Yes, waiting sucks, it's best to just order and forget about it. There's no rhyme or reason to when they come. I don't even bother to stress myself by looking up tracking numbers anymore, unless it's been over three weeks. What you see in tracking can be 100% opposite of reality. The info there is usually worthless. I recommend you be easy on yourself and stop looking at it. Either it will show up..or it wont. This rep game is a waiting game, it takes patience in this hobby. Usually they do show up eventually.

1570's and 1520's would be a huge thing! We have to get TC into vintage Rolex watches, can you imagine a 5513 1:1...or as close as his 16610 is to gen? Or Daytona cases?
