Amen brother. I wear my frankens with ETA movements mercilessly, as tools, as designed by Rolex. Unfortunately parts for the gens are getting so hard to find, they get little use now. I saw a set of NOS reversing wheels for my 1030 at $530 and that sorta opened my eyes!
Take a look here:
We need a kind volunteer to recreate the original topic. Any takers?

Ah, the 5517 isn't gen spec, so a T19 wouldn't fit. I tried 12-15 different crystals and POW, that one worked.
Take a look at the Sternkreuz catalog. A T19 comes in a couple sizes, and comparing the most common size I see possibilities in the XAG 297.519, the XAC 301.616 and XAC 301.617, and the XAC 312.680. If the inner diameter fits, you can make the outer diameter work.
Good luck!

I had a T39 on my Snowflake and was able to cut it down a bit over 2mm until the inner curve of the dome hit the rehaut. A T19 has a thinner dome so you might be able to cut lower than that? A vibrating sander works great. [emoji1360] Another thought... I have a 5517 that needs a crystal slightly bigger than a T19, and a T21 from an old DW Daytona fit like a champ and looks great. The domes on these old Subs are not thick, so the look would be appropriate too.
If I send you a toaster will you make me a Porsche? I'd say you have the skill set. [emoji41] About the tall crystal mentioned earlier, this is the height you want for a 50s Sub:
If we're dealing with honest men, then mistakes don't turn into feuds. I asked the Boss to rework the main drop down menus across the top of the screen so it's easier to access the Feedback tool. Let's use it.
RWG has always been the place where we share knowledge about watches and out the scammers and fly-by-night shysters. We always say "trust the seller, not the watch".
So where does that leave us when a member that had been here for NINE YEARS goes rogue?
I recommend using the Feedback system here more. A LOT more. If you have a positive sale or purchase experience, let us know! And if something didn't go as planned, be honest and let us know. That history of good performance may well be the most valuable tool on this site.
Maybe that can substitute for "years in the saddle"?? A noob with a proven track record here is far more likely to convince me to enter into a transaction with him than a long time member with no feedback.
Yeah baby! Nothing matches that blowtorch-on-wood smell to get just the right curve. Kids today don't know you're supposed to buy a stick by length, L/R, hook and "lie".
Oh no... it's contagious!! [emoji12] So while I was looking for info about my busted 604 I saw a thread with a very handsome 6497 movement thinking it would drop in to replace my busted P.3000 and then thought "hey I could just keep that Pam183". This is how it starts. Next you'll find me lying in a gutter somewhere surrounded by Panerai case protectors and leather straps.
It's very close, I'm seeing some detail differences when you look really close but that could be between MBK and MBW too. Regardless, a gen spec T127 should fit, I put gen crystals on my MBW and they fit perfect.
