Why is Jesus's birth celebrated on Dec 25th?
phaedo replied to DemonSlayer's topic in The looney bin
I personally have gone through too much over the years to accept that there could be the remotest possiblity there could be a God. But, unlike basically every religious person I have ever met, I don't try to force my knowledge/beliefs upon others - let them think what hey want to. All those that are religious I know, do nothing but try to force their beliefs upon others. And I doubt they could accept the idea there could be no God. Homer Simpson summed it up well once, saying something along the lines 'What if we are wrong and praying to the wrong God and making the real God angrier and angrier'. Every religion thinks their God is the God. How can they all be right for a start? -
You beat me to posting about this, got an abridged email not 10 minutes earlier. From a local watchseller - from the title and source figured it would have been about the Ferrari watches, not cars...

Gen. or New Dial Release allready ? Breitling Superocean Heritage.

Obviously not genuine pics taken fdrom somewhere else, since the hands are not in the typical 10-2 positioning, but there are 'little white lies' from dealers, and then there are just outright big lies: it supposedly has a Japanese auto movement and is 440 stainless steel. Isn't it only the 'grade A+++' scam sites that state those type of things? @ TeeJay: Saying he lacks the knowledge of what he is selling makes the lies ok? -
If you had a watch with an in-house movement...

I would love the Zenith El Primo movement repped, but on the othr hand that would make the gen a bit less desirable because the movement had been repped. -
We will of course be needing shots of the upcoming shoot to make sure those ones you posted are not just flukes...

Actually Ken the Manly ferry might be a good idea for me... I am only about 6k's from the dock in Manly

I am definately in for Sydney, but on the other hand if there is enough notice of when it would be, a nice interstate drive and visit some of the country would be nice. Have lived here for almost 3 years and still not left Sydney - found work when i arrived and ended up doing 60 hour weeks since pretty much. Need an excuse to visit the hookers in a different part of the world

That they are not gens.

Ken, I think Pugwash was refering to the phone Teejay was talking about, not your ones. Shame our data costs are so high here (at least on optus) or I would consider getting one of these iphones too - had a bit of a play with one a few weeks ago, I can see what the hype is all about.

TT, cograts on the milestone, your contributions and being the 'bad cop' are always appreciated.

The bad news is my 090 broke yesterday so I need to find a new movement for it anyway...

This has only just come out? We are almost finished the first month of the year! I had to get the 'chicks' calendar instead because the hooters one wasn't ready

He was in his 70's, very down to earth and the car (think it may have been a taurus or similar) was the only car they had. And the dog had a regular seat in it Some flaunted their money (had a former VP of Pepsi as a member and everyone knew it) and some could buy half of France without anyone knowing it...

Well have not had a drink all week, so friday night now I am about to pour my second screwdriver. Long island iced tea of course is a good choice too, but you need the right bartender to make it. Don't know why, but the right one makes all the difference. And I do like the apple martini's - I am comfortable enough in my heterosexuality to admit I like them...

Exactly, those straps gotta be smelling good for the ladies! Aqua di Gio all the way for mine

Of course, driving those may give the game away, but some people like their car, or bought it new 15 years ago, and are modest in what they drive. I remember one retired couple who lived right on the water in Connecticut facing New York, members of the yacht club I was working at. The house would have been worth $5 million, but they were driving a late model generic American sedan. I have a fun, cheapish convertible, and until I can afford the $50-80,000 for the next car, I will keep driving what I have. Doesn't mean I can't necessarily afford the $10,000 watch.

Although he still has it listed, it doesn't necessarily mean he still has it available though - he may just not have removed it from the site...

Bumping an old topic I know, but since there were no replies... I have the same question, but on the 45mm PO. Am considering a gen at some stage, so to make the decision a bit easier I am looking at maybe getting the rep, but the cheaper one, to decide if it is me or not. Anyone got input as to what the cheaper asian one is like?

After readign this, I had another look at the moneygram website - and yes, you are right, you can send money online. But only if you are from the US. Looks like all other countries you have to visit a physical location to do it.
-
Not that I go to the gym, but I work in quite a phisical job, and wear my reps all the time at work - most of the time my BCE that is more than a year old - bracelet needs a polish but otherwise it is running as good as the day I got it.
-
Moneygram may be a good thing, for those that can use it - but for now my closest agent is an hours bus ride away. Round trip would end up being 3 hours just to make a payment of under $100! Waiting patiently for them to take online payments...

Anyone ever upgrade their eta movements?
phaedo replied to nicknoh's topic in Watch Repair & Upgrade
The ones the Chinese rep makers find in the trash out the back of ETA's headquarters?
