  1. Hi all, I have started a rolex 1016 build and currently have the watch pictured above. Unfortunately the dial that I have above has slightly aged lume while the hands do not and I am wondering what combinations of dial / hands would make for the best build. Trying to keep the budget low so please take that into consideration. I currently have an ETA 2824 in the watch but could also use a DG2813 that I have arriving soon. At the moment I am considering this face / hand set from Yukiwatch: http://www.yukiwatch.com/catalog/item/8677844/9637047.htm Thanks all
  2. I can vouch for cheapestnatostraps.com too. They're not anything fancy but they are comfortable and relatively cheap.
  3. If you have the tools it really doesn't take too much skill to fix the keyless (I went from never having fixed one to probably fixing a keyless works three times in about a month)
  4. It has just ticked over to saturday here, Today I wore a couple of watched but mainly my recent project (obviously still has a lot of work to do) the 1016.
  5. I've a JMB case that I'm about to start a 1016 build with and was wondering where a good place to get a jubilee for it would be (and the correct spring bars) thanks guys
  6. You've fouled the keyless works, I haven't worked on a DG28 but from what I have read it is a horrible movement to deal with. If you have the tools maybe give it a try to fix it, worst case you destroy a cheap movement, if not, the movement generally sell for not too much on the bay.
  7. I don't know why anybody would buy one of these in gold. Buying anything in solid gold is expensive but buying a piece of technology that will have been made redundant and outdated in a couple of years in gold seems silly, but I guess you could just wear it and melt it down in a couple of years.
  8. I'm a young guy who is definitely into technology but I have never seen the appeal of a smart watch. A nice watch on the wrist that doesn't make me look like a geek is great and all of the things this watch can do is already in my pocket.
  9. Hey mate, I'm an assure and I assure you that the watch coming from china hasn't really caused my any problems. The delivery is pretty quick and I would trust the TDs more than a sight that you can't find an unbiased review of.
  10. I'm a little ahead of the rest of the world probably but just got this from a member this morning and thought I would post a wrist shot and start the thread off.
  11. I hope not. 42mm isn't that bad but the more smaller watches the better in my books. There are too many big watches today.
  12. Just as an update this project is currently being put to the side for a while as I am going to instead undertake a 1016 build that I was able to source the parts. I have sourced the plexi for this watch but it is being put to the side.
  13. 50mm watches, I could never even think of wearing something so big.
  14. There is always a [censored] who has to be an idiot and extort those who make this community what it is.
  15. Stunning watch
  16. Absolutely gorgeous combination.
  17. If having an elongated stem is all you get then that is the least of worries in reps. You can say that you dislike the lack of QC all you like, or that it should be more reliable, but you're a grown man spending your money how you wish. If you think it could be spent better, then spend it elsewhere. As for it not being free, it is what it is. We know when we buy reps that they're not as reliable as gens. If that's a problem, then don't buy reps.
  18. Hi everybody, I have decided to embark on my first build and have decided that it should be for a Tudor Snowflake. I've chosen black due to it being far easier to find the bezel. In my research and through asking people around here I have discovered that I will need to get Dial / hands (I'm thinking the yuki offering looks quite good) Case Movement Crystal (T19) (ordered) Rolex crown (703) Rolex or Clark tube (not sure where to source this) I have heard of people getting a "cartel" 5513 and converting it. I was wondering due to the problems I have had recently with the movements in rep watches if anybody knows if it is possible to purchase just the cartel case so that I could purchase a TC 2824-2 which I would trust far more. So in summary does anybody know where I could source these parts and any other advice. Thanks in advance HaydenM
  19. From looking in the past I don't think any of them are replicated. Have to go franken or make them yourself I believe.
  20. Wish that they could replicate the Tudor Heritage Chrono Blue. Such a nice watch.
  21. Gorgeous watch, loving some of these new bronze watched. Just wish that watches would get smaller again (doubt it will happen) so I can wear these.
  22. If you are adhering to the rules of black tie you should only wear a point collar (not a wing collar which is reserved for the more formal white tie dress code). As for pleats it's up to taste I believe, I personally don't wear pleated white shirts as I find that on me without pleats looks more streamlined.
