  1. I like the 2004 as well, but again its always going to have the sunken datewheel and its not going to have the extra large date window that is on that model. I would far prefer that they properly do the 6-9-12 Old Navitimer. They could pretty much put together a 100% accurate model most of the pieces already exist.
  2. Sinn bought the breitling company at one point, including unfinished stock. They released a Sinn Navitimer using those parts for a short time.
  3. Angus is already taking orders for and posting pics of the new Navitimer. Exactly what I described, newest B01 model, A7750, sunken datewheel. Its not bad but I simply cant stand Breitling's new date font.
  4. The A7753 has no date advance mechanism from the crown. It is meant for Panerai type watches that have a pusher on the side of the case to advance the date. So the Navi options, if the A7753 were to be used would be to: A) put a pusher on the side of the case (unacceptable), have do way of adjusting the date besides running the time forward (unacceptable for most), or C) use the modified 7750 and live with the recessed date wheel (acceptable to all but us anal watch geeks). Breitling modified the 7753s they put in the gen Navis allowing the date to be advanced by simply running the hour back and forth past 12:00a.m.
  5. Looks much better, but there shouldn't be any gap whatsoever. It won't damage the dial, that's the way its meant to be.
  6. The thing that strikes me right off the bat is that the hash marks on the insert don't go all the way to the edge. Other than the sunken datewheel, it looks pretty good. Will be waiting to hear what the AR is like. And BTW, I pretty much nailed it on my last post
  7. Ah, the mythical new Navitimer. Rumours of a new version have been around for over 5 years, yet it just never seems to happen. As for people talking about the sunken datewheel being fixed on a future version, forget about it. They are not going to make a watch with the A7753 and have now method of changing the date, which means it will be an A7750 and it will have a sunken datewheel. And, I'd be very surprised if they chose to do the 2004 Navitimer that we all love. More than likely they'll do the new Navi with the B01 and ugly date font.
  8. It doesn't exist Pete. A gen tricompax datewheel won't fit an A7750. And nobody has made a Breitling 7750 datewheel with the first 9 numbers rotated 90 degrees. Only solution is a rep Skyland or Evo datewheel which will be accurate 22 days a month.
  9. I don't really sell my reps but if I had to keep only two it would be my very rare PAM192 and my Navitimer.
  10. Just wonder if any old-timers kept in touch with him?
  11. My guess is that the slide rule insert you bought will be useless to you. On the vintage Navis the insert is almost flat whilst the modern Navi is dish like. There's no way it will fit.
  12. Its a pilots watch, not a divers watch. If you find yourself in water and needing a screw down crown, you probably should have bought an Emergency
  13. Hey Ken, I've always been around, just haven't been posting much lately. As for the guitar, 90% of what you see in any music store comes out of one of a handful of plants in China. So I would expect that these guitars are pretty much on par with those guitars and it is very likely they came out of one of those plants as well. Guitar construction isn't rocket science, and the actual construction of a cheap guitar and an expensive guitar is often quite similar. Where they differ is in the types of wood used. Expensive guitars will use a solid piece of African Mahogany with a half inch, 2 piece maple cap. A chinese guitar will have a 3 of 4 piece basswood or alder body, with a multiple pieced maple cap that is covered with a very this veneer to provide a decent looking finishing surface. Does all this affect the sound? Debatable. But its the difference between owning a Timex or a Rolex. Both tell time effectively, one is just crafted a lot more finely.
  14. aliexpress.com or tradetang.com are the places I've found them. They were a lot easier to find until recently when they started to be removed from sites like ioffer.
  15. Yes indeed. Just like Jimmy Page. And it doesn't take four hands to play it, just two quick ones
  16. I wouldn't say my watch addiction is over, I just haven't seen anything of late that has turned my crank. However, there is one rep that has been calling my name enough to make me finally pull the trigger. Not exactly a watch though! Can't wait for this beauty to arrive. Here's my QC pics...
  17. I used to drive "beaters" for that exact reason (my nice car stays in the garage). Anyway about 2 years ago I "f_ck it" and bought myself a decent set of wheels of everyday driving. Within 2 weeks someone at the train station backed in to it and leg an 18 scratch/dent covering 3 panels. No note either. So $600 dollars later and my car looks new again.... for about two weeks when someone else backed in to it in exactly the place that had just been repaired. A few weeks later someone decided to let their shopping cart run in to it head on, cracking the grill and chipping the plastic hood guard. A few weeks later I was running at the track and some kid decided to try and rip the hood guard off, breaking it right in half in the process. Never had a problem when I drove beaters!! Anyway, now at the train station I will not park unless I can find a spot with a car already on both sides. People just love to back in to facilitate a quick escape, but they just don't know how to drive. And if the hit your car they'll just f_uck off a leave you to pay the bill. Rat bastards!
  18. Nice watch but I have no idea what Breitling was thinking when they chose that date font. The old font suited their watches to a tee, not to mention that it was far more readable. Ruins the look of every one of their watches that use that movement.
  19. I think you can take him Georgie!
  20. Think what you want. Just know that people from other countries are confounded by your stupidity.
