For some dials the mainplate can be slotted, I've done it. The datejust cannot be done. I can do it for one foot, but the other foot prevents the set lever from operating correctly. As the set lever moves to the date set and time set position the foot next to it will not let it move up. I tried slotting the set lever, but it was to weak after it was cut.

Either buy the right tool or take it to a jeweler to open it. Even with the correct tool you have to have some way to hold it.

I bid $.99, and won the auction. It turns out not only was the case and caseback a gen 16014 rolex, it had a gen crystal and gen white gold fluted bezel. You don't get any luckier than that

Seems he was selling rep watches on ebay and claimed they were gen. Probably what happened with mine. Sold it, they returned it as fake. Opened a claim with pp. 100% scammer

a 2824-2 will work. You won't even need a movement ring, really. Cut the tabs correctly and it will not move. Good luck

Close the clasp and hold the watch just like in your pic. If one side is longer, remove a link from that side and add it to the other. When you hold your watch the way you're holding it in your picture, but with the clasp closed, the buckle should be parallel to the head. If you have no links to swap, break one from the long side.When you break the link off you will have to drill the hole out to accept the screw.
