  1. No tune up? That's amazing!! Shows you what a clean and properly oiled movement can do right outta the crate. D5 is not synthetic, it wasn't 50 years ago either. LOL
  2. The stem position in the case tube will be to low with a 2836-2.. You can make it work, but it will die in the near future. The first and most important thing in any build, is the stem MUST be centered in the case tube with the dial mounted and movement secured. That will insure years of trouble free operation. Trust me on this
  3. I haven't seen a swiss eta in any watch from anyone in a couple of years. Seen lots that said they were, but not. I don't know what that is. Has it been wet? You need to wind it 50 times to get a full wind. Shaking it doesn't help. The automatic wind is meant to keep it at least at the point where it's wound, not wind it, However it will put a small amount of wind in the main spring.
  4. Automatico, I have the spacer to fit a presidents dial to your case. Had a couple left over from late 90's to early 2000's when i was building solid18K presidents
  5. The retainers on those bp's are small and can easily go lower on one side compared to the other. You can't fix it without removing the insert. If you can get the insert off without taking the bezel off, it's a very simple fix. If you can't get the insert off then it requires a little more work. Lets go with removing the bezel. You have 4 springs with 3 balls and a clicker under the bezel. When you pry the bezel off be very careful not to loose those springs. DO NOT PICK THE WATCH UP!! The odd shaped ball goes in the lower left corner. With the bezel in your hand, begin to remove the insert by slowly and gently applyling pressure up. Be patience it will release. Now, your retainer is inside the bezel. Either push or press it out of the bezel. Now you're ready to install. Put the spring and balls in their holes. Here is what's different. Place your bezel on first on top of the springs. Then put your retainer on, with the fat side up. Carefully press down untill you make contact with the bezel. Try to keep the retainer level. Don't pick the watch up to look at it until you have a little pressure on the springs, they will fall back out. As soon as they do, the spring gremlin will snatch them up and you will never see them again. That gremlin is so fast you won't see him either. Now gently press the retainer down checking it as you go until you have the desired tension on your bezel when you rotate it. Once you like the feel, install the insert by lining up the 2 12 o'clock markers. Be sure and use firm gentle pressure on the insert because it is ceramic and can crack very easily. Enjoy your watch
  6. I ordered 10 of them. They shipped tuesday. They are coming in a ems package with some other stuff. Should be here tuesday. pm me then
  7. Most of the holes I've seen have been tapped off center. You can work the tap slightly to correct the alignment. You should still have enough good threads to hold the tube. Won't be as loose as you think. Loctite and gasket between tube and case you should be good. Only install the tube once. It will bugger the threads, and if you remove it, you won't be able to reuse it. Good luck.
  8. That is a rolex rule, If you want a part, send us the old part. Very hard to get around it
  9. That's what I was thinking freddy333, Is it me or does the blue pan am look almost like a sticker instead of paint? I don't know enough about this watch to comment, other than the blue pan am.
  10. I'm guessing it's a 2824-2. They use a spring washer to hold the hour wheel in place. Sometimes it will slip up out of position. Be sure your watchsmith adds tension to the spring washer before he wraps it up.
  11. cyclops is for sure misaligned. Can be fixed, and should be before it ships
  12. Are you sure the jewel on the balance wheel is in the pallet fork. I don't see the bal assy moving. Remove the balance assy and be sure the jewel from the balance wheel is in the pallet fork
  13. Im going to my AD this week. I'll see if he has one
  14. I think the 2.0mm is for a sea dweller. 1.8mm is for everything else
  15. I'll ck when I get back to my supplier and see if he has one. I had one but used it
  16. I like the strap too. It's different but looks really good. That's what makes a watch so personal. It's not really what anyone else likes, it's what you like that matters. The fact that everyone else likes it too, makes its a winner for sure
  17. Im not sure if it will work in your case. It seems to me rolex made 1500 quartz with the 1570 before they changed the movement. I suppose you would have to have one of those cases. good luck
  18. For some reason I have more bad movements in that last 6 months. They have been put together, the movement, with some really old and bad parts. My supplier of the Asian movements has really had a hard time getting movements from the factory. I assume all the dealers are too. Maybe that's why I see so many bad movements.
