  1. I like the strap too. It's different but looks really good. That's what makes a watch so personal. It's not really what anyone else likes, it's what you like that matters. The fact that everyone else likes it too, makes its a winner for sure
  2. Im not sure if it will work in your case. It seems to me rolex made 1500 quartz with the 1570 before they changed the movement. I suppose you would have to have one of those cases. good luck
  3. For some reason I have more bad movements in that last 6 months. They have been put together, the movement, with some really old and bad parts. My supplier of the Asian movements has really had a hard time getting movements from the factory. I assume all the dealers are too. Maybe that's why I see so many bad movements.
  4. Try your new stem first. The broken piece may have fallen out. Don't force it. The yoke may be out of position, if so you will need to access the the keyless. Good luck
  5. For some reason, all of the silver asian 2836-2 or 2824-2 with the decorated plates, have been horrible movements. If they do manage to run for more than a day, they loose or gain anywhere from 30 mins to 7-8 hours. Still haven't figured out what the problems are. I've had some smiths a lot better than me look at a couple, they can't figure it out either. I think I may be jacking the thread. No, just go with the gold Asian
  6. It's true. All of the so called swiss that I have seen, and thats quite a few, in the last year have ALL been asian. Not a gen in the lot. The stamps on their main plates is almost perfect. But, when you do as many gens as I do, its easy to see the difference.
  7. Certainly sounds like someone has intercepted his emails. I wouldn't send it to the other address, not western union. Use your cc.
  8. Have you wound it. You know you have to wind those watches. You knew that, right? If it sits for a couple of days, it will stop. reserve is around 36 hr. You need to wind it 40 times. If you have to ask me how to do that, Im not going to answer you.
  9. It is traceable. It takes 2-3 days for it to get posted in the china mail after its been dropped off. The next update will be, origin post preparing shipment
  10. DO NOT SEND IT BACK. You will regret that you did. I havent seen a gen swiss movemnet in china watch in 2 years
  11. Ive done dozens and dozens. Never ever used a 2836-2. Always a 2824-2. 16013 or 16234, I still use a 2824-2. The stem height is wrong on a 2836 or 2846. It will be low in the case tube. Im just saying. Been doing it for a very long time, and never had one fail. FIRST RULE OF ANY BUILD-THE STEM MUST BE CENTERED IN THE CASE TUBE. Of course thats only if you want it to last for years. There is not a watch in this world I would use a 2846 in, ever. Terrible movement
  12. I've seen lots of gens, and it seems there are lots of different 2's. I dont know how you guys keep track of which 2 goes where.
  13. Yes it ticks. However Cellini doesn't have a sweep second, so there is nothing to show it's a quartz.
  14. His retainer is still there. You have to remove the insert and press the retainer from the bezel. Not a big deal. Now, you've lost all the springs and balls that make it click when you rotate it. I have all the parts, but they are costly. Or, you can ask for them on the forum
  15. Have you tried a thicker springbar?
  16. Several years ago, and I mean several, when rolex was in new york, I could by anything from them. The prices were reasonable at that time. Flash forward 20 years. Rolex moved to Dallas, and everything changed. Couldn't buy a piece for a rolex. If you were not an authorized dealer, you got nothing, just s dial tone. That is when prices started up, and they haven't stopped.
  17. Im pretty sure the retainer is still on the watch over the crystal. It's very small and looks like part of the watch case. Double ck it to see if has one.
  18. I can put it back together for you. You mentioned 4 holes, were there springs in the holes, or did you lose them when you took it off. You have to remove the insert, seperate the retainer from the bezel. Then, Install your crystal and gasket. Here is what you need to know. The bezel goes on first. THEN press your retainer, with the lip up, on over the bezel. Before you put the bezel on, be sure your ball and springs are in place. Press the retainer down, cking the tightness of the bezel rotation and you press. When the bezel has the right amount of resistance to suit you, install the insert. Your done.
  19. Ive never seen a tridor bracelet except from rolex. I do have 2 tone presidents bracelets with 10K overlay on the center links, but no lines on it
  20. When money is paid across border in diff currencies, the exchange rate remains, even if a full or partial refund. That fee varies 1-3%. Pp keeps it, not the vendor.
