  1. JF - agreed. Statistical BS. All based on axioms, presumptions and... air.
  2. ^ What she said. Santos is perhaps my fav (sits on the podium with the 217 and 1665). Congrats on your new job. Cheers
  3. When this style catches on, I'm giving up on clubbing. Of course, I'm one of those stiff, neck bobbing white people so perhaps I shouldn't throw stones. Interesting touch with the wrestling shoes...
  4. Here's one we don't see every day. Beautiful pics as always.
  5. I have the PVD Limited Edition white on black one. Despite the LE printI love it. Very military/tool -looking watch. Have it on the nylon strap. Despite the heft of the watch, the strap makes it super comfy and almost as if you're not wearing anything. Does wear large, and goes great with a sporty sweater. Doesn't look as nice with short sleeves as would a Sant 100 chrono.
  6. Yeah, I thought of doing the Nato thing on my orange PO as well. Good call. The orange gator strap is getting to me.
  7. It's Israeli actor/comedian, Ze'ev Revach in the 1975 movie "Party at the Snooker": http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=htt...ficial%26sa%3DN Small world, right? Talk about a needle in a haystack... My favourite avatar is Scooter's, without a doubt. There was also one with either Grover or Cookie Monster posing as Jack N. from"The Shining."
  8. Sorry, but I'm a bit thick. What's the difference between the Noobmariner and Beginmariner? Thought that your article was about the Noobmariner, BT...
  9. Thankfully I'm overall quite pleased with my "Kollektion." Have too many for so few wrists, but unwilling to let them go. Parting is such sweet sorrow...
  10. You guys are nothing short of terrific. Thanks so much!
  11. Modder help would be greatly appreciated. I have a Paso MBW 1665, and I've given it to my watch modder for Clark T-39 superdome installation. He felt that the Clark will not fit. It appears the original crystal is pressed in, without a plastic gasket. He said that he might be wrong, because sometimes those are difficult to actually see. One other hitch is that he measures the original crystal diameter at 30.2mm, where he measures the generic to be 30.4mm. Consequently, he did not remove the original crystal from the case. He mentioned that he has replaced genuine crystals on vintage GMTs and Subs. They slip over a metal ring, and then an outer ring is pressed fit over that securing the crystal between two metal sides. Thanks so much for your help!
  12. Agree with Dani and TTK. Doesn't do it for me. Like the Acura NSX, just doesn't have the exotic swoops. The Veyron and new Lambs have all the right curves. Those new front engine 599 GTB Ferraris are pure class and a lot more subtle. I'll take silver, thank you.
  13. Heard good things about the man :-)
  14. +1. I used LED toches for 1 minute on the dial and it fully charges the lume. Better than anything else I've used before.
  15. Agree with what was stated above. The "Special Ops" thing is about as tacky as a baseball cap that has the words "CIA" written on it. Don't like the "USA" thing either. Otherwise, very smart looking watch. Almost there. I'll take a BR03-92 or a 177H on rubber for the military look.
  16. Beautiful, Sub. Great taste. Thanks for taking the time.
  17. Have this same model (nylon band) and love it. Downsides: doesn't stay wound on the winder, and the crown is a bit quirky, sometimes changing the date wheel when trying to wind, other times not. But so far she keeps on ticking and telling the time. Definitely has lume, although nothing jaw dropping. The hands glow blue and markers white; only really noticeable in a very dark room. Great weight, solid feel and one of my few watches that actually gets compliments. Love it.
  18. To me the caddy is sporty, with that American luxury history of opulence and excess. For that reason I'd go with a flashier sport watch like the Daytona. Don't think Pannies are appropriate. Maybe an HBB, even though they're not my style. Breitlings for sure. Probably a Bentley Motors.
  19. Bound to happen. No surprises, really. DSN's 112H is very nice BTW. Once you get used to the 127 it probably won't leave your wrist. Ever.
