  1. Its like playing the Lotto with the GL's from what I have experienced, and read about. You either get one that works perfectly on your Cr Sub, or you get one that simply won't lock into place. My Cr Sub bracelet was replaced due to the non-locking issue.
  2. Wow, is that a Zenith movement? I can't always remember the pinion positions that determines which movement. I was under the impression if the sub-dial pinions were in line with the main cannon pinion = 7750 sec@9, and when the two sun-dials pinions are slightly higher that the main cannon pinion = Zenith?
  3. Do you have a photo of the rear of the dial?
  4. Agreed, the fun is taking the time to do things the way you want, as if you cut corners, it will always bug the hell out of you. Get plenty of rest, take your time with it, and all will be good. Looking forward to seeing it all together mate. Good luck!
  5. Cool ending, getting back into what he is so passionate about, thanks for sharing mate.
  6. Started to watch it, then when the truck was supposed to of hit the guy, I rewound, and replayed, and its fake, so didn't bother to watch it all.
  7. Congrats on a great watch, and with that history behind it, its priceless mate, wear it well. I love this model Bert.
  8. Looks spot on to me too. Let us know how the purchase goes. Does your friend not have the original paperwork for it?
  9. Certainly different, well done!
  10. The crazy part of it, he is not alone in his thinking, there are lots of people out there uneducated like us guys when it comes to reps, and gens. I am no longer surprised anymore reading threads over on TRF of guys who spend several thousand on a watch they know nothing about, and they post things that the likes of us know through and through, like stainless steel used, to crown positions etc.
  11. Thanks, I have managed to find this which I have seen other guys recommend.. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/WATCH-WINDING-STEM-CUTTER-pliers-shorten-stems-for-crown-watchmakers-repairs-/321043864880?pt=UK_Jewellery_Watches_WatchAccessories_SpareParts_SM&hash=item4abfb49d30 There's also this type too.. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Watch-Movement-2836-2892-6497-Stem-Cutter-Repair-Tool-0192-/270811418198?pt=UK_Jewellery_Watches_WatchAccessories_SpareParts_SM&hash=item3f0d9e4e56
  12. I know that feeling, we have recently booked an all expenses paid holiday for July, so right now having to resist any temptations, which sucks.
  13. Thanks, I will get some photos during the transplant, just hoping the pushers fit. Need to invest in some small cutters to cut the stem, so any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
  14. Thanks, all being well, it will be completed by the end of the month. I have to wait until the house is empty, with no distractions
  15. Welcome to RWG, do not buy from the site watermarked on those photos you posted above. Watch Eden is a gamble, if I were you I would choose another Trusted Dealer.
  16. BK's are sold out for a couple of months, and the TC sub now only comes with the TC2824, not a Swiss ETA, so now, I look at my Sub C which only cost $138, and actually, Im quite chuffed with it. Yes, there are a couple of things need fixing, 12 o'clock triangle and 9 indice, but once these are corrected, its pretty much spot on for the money.
  17. SSTEEL

    Gold!

It is stunning, and I would love one, but don't think I could pull it off.
  18. Thanks, its going to be fun thats for sure. The case is pretty much spot on, so happy with that, I am now contemplating replacing the bezel, chapter ring, and crystal for gen now too.
  19. I feel your pain, just keep on searching, and when you do find one you want on the bay, don't bid early, stalk the listing, and snipe bid in the dying seconds with the whole amount you are prepared to pay for it.
