Have you had movement problems with your chs GMTIIC?
perry563 replied to freddy333's topic in The Rolex Area
I have a question.....I have a old style GMT master with an ETA 2893 movement...a true GMT movement. When I change the GMT hand it JUMPS from one point to another around the dial. With my ceramic GMT with correct hand stack.....when I tried changing the HOUR hand it never did JUMP...instead it would move as I turned the crown like I was changing the time and I would feel a slight CLICK which signaled me that this was the spot the hand should be in. Is THIS how everyone elses ceramic GMT works or was this a signal that something was wrong? By the way the second time I tried changing the time the watch broke and is now in Chaina for repairs. GMT hand is not working should I be worried?

As I have posted....My CHS GMT performed flawlessly for 5 days then died when I tried to set it a second time. The GMT hand would not move and neither would the quick date function. I am always very careful with my watches but I would tell everyone to be U L T R A careful when setting this watch. Turn the crown very slowly and if you feel any drag...STOP..push in the crown and start again. My suggestion is to SEND THE WATCH BACK!!!!! After a servicing it may run trouble free. take it from me you dont want a watch that does not function correctly. It may seem OK now but in the long run it will NOT be. -
I never had much of any issue getting my rep watches wet. I dont swim so thats not going to happen but I do clean my watches before and after wearing them by putting them under the faucet and then wiping dry.....keeps all the dust and dirt from gathering. I have in total 25 reps watches and the only issue I ever had was with my MBW 1680. However once I had a new CLARK crystal installed and the watch pressure tested never had a problem again with it.

Is this true and does the Eurotimz 5512 match the real thing in terms of case size????????? I do know that the 1680 and 1665 match the real thing just about perfect so i hope it holds true for this model. Anyone know?
-
What exactly is the difference?
-
Which of the Eurotimz no date Sub reps are the closest to gen? (I know mods need to be done in any case but looking for the best dial offered) I heard something about another dial being offerded that was better??? He shows two right now...one with the typical dot markers and another with 3, 6 , 9 numerals. I want one of these ASAP but just want to know which is the best overall choice. Thanks.

Assuming the factory who makes this baby is the same that makes the ceramic GMT (high quality)......I will buy this watch as soon as it is offered.

Well mine is still on its way back to Andrew. I wore my GMT for 5 straight days and it just performed so well. I said THIS is the perfect rep. Came home after day 5, took off the watch and let it run down. Next day I tried setting it and BAM........the hour hand just stops dead. When I try turning the crown it just turns and nothing moves....not the hour hand and not the date function. What I did notice and please tell me if this is the way its supposed to be.....when I set the hour hand the first time the hand did not JUMP. Instead the hour hand would move as if you were setting the minute hand. When I felt a slight CLICK I knew that was where the hour hand needed to be. -
Noob dives in and sinks? My first "proper" rep, SMP from a scam site
perry563 replied to mars08's topic in The Omega Area
My first rep was from Perfectclones...a TT Rolex black dial. I bought it the date BEFORE I found this site! I spent 975 bucks for a TW best TT Sub. Although its supposed to be pure gold on the center links, crown and bezel. No signs of wear aside from some black streaks now and then on the end links which are plated. For an SMP you probably overpaid for a watch you could buy cheaper on the dealers sites in this forum. -
I see that Clark sells the T39 superdome but I dont see a flat top. Does he make one? If not is there anyone who does make a good T39 FT?
-
If its done RIGHT I will def order at least one....and I have 7 rep subs ALREADY!!!!! lol
-
Everyone HAS to be V E R Y specific here.....we just dont want lug holes....we want the CORRECT SIZED LUG HOLES.....huge difference! Along with the correct sized spring bars. Does anyone know the correct diameter of Rolex lugholes?????????? Lets get this 100% right from the start.

You are comparing VINTAGE MBW against the MODERN SSD. (apples and oranges) In terms of Vintage SD you have several to choose from and these watches are works of art on there own. I am talking about modern VS. modern SD.......SSD vs. MODERN MBW SD. In this case the SSD is head and shoulders above the MBW.
-
What I would suggest is that you sell this watch THRU BK.....He can complete the required mods and you would THEN be selling the closest most perfect rep sub ever known to man! You would also be doing a great service to all of our members on these boards who have no place to have mods done on their subs. I have quite a few subs but I would be first in line for one of these. Sure it would cost a bit more but there is no doubt you will have plenty of customers.
-
No the BKmariner comes with a thick tube/close to gen crown and it is already modded with CG trimmed and much better and close to gen insert and pearl. I already mentioned that the case and rehaut (which is part of the case) is better with the MBW in general. The bottom line is that yours is potentially closer to gen but needs mods. The BK mariner is already modded. So if we take your watch and modd it YES its the better watch. The BK mariner also has the better movement.
-
Great watch. So the decision for anyone looking for the best sub is as follows..... The above Eurotimz MBW based sub with Noob dial. (the latest MBW come with hollow link bracelets so there is no additional mod in this area) The benefits are that deep rehaut and overall bext next to gen case. Negatives though are you still need to have those CG modded and insert recessed with better pearl. BK mariner - fully modded but has a more shallow rehaut and slightly smaller than gen date mag. Decisions, decisions!!!!!

The MBW SD is not of the same class as the SSD. If you have already ordered a SSD there is NO REASON to order a MBW SD...PERIOD!
-
All the SUPER SD you will buy from respected dealers now will be the one with the thick bezel. Although I would specifically ask for it just to be sure. The MBW modern SD I THINK is a TW Best type which is no where near what you will have with the SSD. The SSD along with the new ceramic GMT are the two best Rolex reps ever made.

I bought my V2 maybe 6-8 months after it initially came out. My watch has none of the end link gaps and imperfections sited within this string. The exception may be date font but mine is not bad at all...maybe a little too thin but who is ever going to notice that?????
-
I dont buy it. The watch was nearly 70 years in salt water and its still working? My father in law was also in WWII and he bought a gold Bulova which I now have in my posession. I spent 300 bucks getting the watch to tick and it never saw one minute of water. Gold Bulovas from that period were NOT very waterproof.
-
GREAT collection BUT PLEASE throw that Breguet in the garbage immediatly!!!!!!!!
-
I bought this watch when it first came out because of all the great reviews. However I never wear it. Its huge, very heavy on the wrist and I just have too many others that I prefer to wear. So....it just sits.

Question: GMTII-C Incorrect Hand Stack, Asian

With all this fuss about the CHS on the GMT II...
perry563 replied to Feta1's topic in The Rolex Area
I had mine for 5 days and it was just perfect. Tried setting the time the second time I wore it and the hour hand stopped working along with the date funtion. Its now in transit back to China. This watch is B E A U T I F U L and in my opinion the best out of the box Rolex rep EVER. However my initial impressions of the movement is that it is fragile. When I get it back I will never try setting the hour hand again that is for sure.
