Want to build a 7928, what parts should i get?
Sogeha replied to Champagnesky's topic in The Rolex Area
He/they wrap the head in foil, so Customs can't see case stamps, generally he declares a value of $100. I got caught once and Customs asked me to pay $30 on the $100, but the watch was just over $2000, so I couldn't throw the money at them fast enough??? I imagine he would lower the value to be under the Customs value for Duty. It is $25 here in Ireland. If I remember correctly, you are in Sweden? Maybe you need to triangle it? I'm sure one of the guys in the UK will help you if you need it. Edt, yes he ships from USA -

Yes, you will receive photographs of your watch, or at least I always have. If you are not clear on some point, you can ask for more detailed pictures or indeed a different case, though I have never had to. Good luck with your project and don't forget to document it. -

In theory Jensen and Phong have the same prices, but because of sales and special offers, it is always worth looking at both. I have seen some significant difference in price. The cases are very good, but do vary a bit. In my opinion they do benefit from a light tickle from someone good at case shaping. See Phong cases from Dbane, Slay and the Vietnamese cases from Rolojack. -
Advice on Pam 111 & 351 Question about TD'
Sogeha replied to Jhnsn's question in Questions & Answers
Well you can have a look on the Trusted dealers sits for Pam 111, I am fairly sure the Noob factory version is still the best. The 351 I'm less sure about, but check out the KW version. The great thing about Panerai replicas is that many models, the rep is all but indistinguishable from the genuine. I really doubt you would be disappointed with those two models. -

Do yourself a favour and stay well away from replica sites you find on the internet and stick with dealers who are listed as trusted dealers on this or one of the other fora. I took a very quick look at the site you mentioned and saw the usual lies "Swiss 3135 movement" there is only one Swiss 3135 movement, it is built by Rolex and Swiss law would not tolerate anyone copying it. 1:1 copy, no the one I saw was not 1:1, it was identical to the Chinese replicas our dealers can get, but twice as expensive. Oh, and welcome to our community, do a little reading here and when you buy your watch, show us what you bought please -
Nice find, well done @kernow

No Date Sub from PureTime. (Comparison to 16610 from iOffer)
Sogeha replied to BigTon26's topic in General Discussion
Well said. I have never really agreed with the idea of beginner reps. In our hobby, like most things in life, the expression "buy quality, buy once" will serve well as a guide to the least costly way of going about things in the long run. Cheap watches can can be fun, I've got a few, but I don't see them as beginner watches that one will quickly grow disappointed with. I bought mine knowing exactly what they are and are not, so the disillusion never set in. -
Hopefully something better will be along shortly.

Sogeha replied to themannier's topic in General Discussion
Thank you @indywatchguy, that is the true spirit of our community. Im sure it wasn't why you did it or even something you thought about, but the Mod team notices and remembers things like this?? -

Always good to welcome a member back, even one whose first post in 8 months is to ignore a simple request from our esteemed leader??? Oh and there are a few good watch smiths on the forum, but @misiekped you can't go wrong with.

Oh no another one. Can nobody comply with a simple request these days?

Accurate and reputable sellers of Omega SM Moons
Sogeha replied to HoroRob's topic in The Omega Area
We are glad you joined too? I meant to say sub dial spacing. Anyway here are a couple of pictures the genuine has the sub dials closer together the rep further apart and it is a very obvious tell -

Sogeha replied to HoroRob's topic in The Omega Area
Welcome to the community. Accurate Speedmasters don't really exist because there isn't a good movement to use in them. The dial spacing is usually wrong. Some of the cheaper end are Quartz powered, which would not be acceptable to me. Good quality Seamasters exist and are readily available. All the information you need to inform yourself is in the relevant sub forums -
Oo err, that's a bit saucy MOAB

Congratulations you old fart. I'm two next month. Oh to be young again and know what I know now - I would be much worse

No worries mate, it's tough getting your head around all this detail in the beginning, I still remember struggling to make sense of it all. If you are after the earlier model then all the old posts on Ultimate PO are where to look for information. I don't believe the bezel insert was ever much liked and many swapped out to a genuine part
-
The first one is 45mm and the other two are 42mm, so that is a difference straight away. The other two are reps of different versions of the genuine Omega 42mm The newer PO 8500 is 15.7 mm Thick (42mm) and has a ceramic bezel insertThe older PO 2500 is 14.2mm Thick (42mm) and has an alloy bezel insert

I strongly second that @nanuq As I have said before I am trying to learn about Panerai builds and the options available as I intend to get some builds going before long. It looks to me as if that case has been on a diet and I would love to know the ins and outs
