  1. The info in this thread is so good this needs a thread in the Rolex area... It's not detracting from OPs sale but probably ought to be moved somehow? And continued...[emoji109][emoji3][emoji106]
  2. Wow that is beautiful work... and an amazing build. It shouldn't be possible on that budget [emoji108]
  3. Ti Homage on a really amazing value Horween Chromexcel from WatchGecko
  4. I believe I was one of those crappers... and I think it is good protocol to tag one of the Mods in a less crapping post - as a heads up. My approach... I'm afraid was impetuous. I saw lots of warning signs to a possible scam (no tag, single digit post count on account registered a while back (could be hacked), over hyped description and photos that didn't really match the description. But it isn't my role to crap on threads and become a one man vigilante. Long day... bad decision. Let's help the guys who keep this place as safe as possible in their endeavours on our behalf.
  5. Was definitely an eBay merchant... and was quite nice out of the jiffy bag... bug I probably re-brushed it after an ultrasonic clean!
  6. ^^ nice aren't they ;-) I know i should wear mine more.
  7. Congratulations on the 1000 and hats off to you for your amazing builds and fine collection you have there. Can't wait to see your next project :-)
  8. In general i've noticed that folk around this place are gentlemen beyond reproach - and a cut above most of the other rep forums in terms of etiquette. However, without mentioning names I need to vent a little... As an EU based member I quite like to buy my reps from an EU source which normally means M2M sales. This means having to wait patiently for the desired models to come up and then i have to move quick when they do. So... when I contact a seller just minutes after a watch is listed for sale with a really committed asking price offer... which is then accepted and payment details and address exchanged... I get a little bent out of place when the seller then tells me he's sold it to somebody else who sent payment before me. And to be clear i'm not talking about sending payment 24 hours later this was 30 minutes!! Anyway seller apologised, refunded me, and I pointed out my frustrations and the world moves on... Its only watches right :-) Please remain honest and true gentlemen above all else guys.
  9. Great work... Great project... enjoy that for many many years to come sir.
  10. Cheers... when you have such great foundations the tweaks are easy ;-) I did a bit more searching around. I think MY conclusions were that not every Athaya 702 tube is compatible with every gen 702 crown. I picked up the crown and tube so was no biggie other than being first time I had done it! Now I can tick that one off I need to tackle tapping a new thread for tube replacement. Your new Cartel build is very informative.
  11. Couple for a Monday morning... crown is operating smoothly :-) has that gen feel (of course!)
  12. Fantastic thread... and that's looking amazing. I have to say I prefer the service insert to the Yuki when looking at the overall finish/patina to the watch. It looks more like a dutifully serviced vintage than an all original survivor :-)
  13. Turned out well. It was very straight forward. I had just the tool for the job. Much nicer feel to this crown... it is used but in pretty good condition. Thanks again.
  14. Appreciate the tips and encouragement guys... cheers
  15. Thanks... they are all over eBay... apart from a really sloppy bezel there isn't much to dislike.
  16. Cheers JZ. Well I've come this car... looks like I'll be getting a bit hands on with crown tubes... a first time for me. Any tips?
