wow! You built the same watch for ~1/10 of the price... and it is a thing of beauty.
-
I purchased my first rep which was this exact sub from Eddie Lee and here are the flaws that I have found in mine:
Date mag is way off. It's nowhere near 2.5x.
The crown etched at 6:00 is not centered. It is slightly to the left.
The "50" font on the bezel has a flaw. It's like a square is cut out from the bottom right side of the 5 and the bottom left side of the 0.
The second hand has some gooey stuff on it. It's not noticeable if you just glance at the watch but if you look closely, it is obvious. It drives me nuts looking at it. I've been tempted to open it up and try to clean it off but I have not done so yet.
If this were not my first rep, I probably would have sent it back.
Other than that, I had a good experience. TA was about 4-5 days.

best - less rehaut, correct hollow bracelet, etched crown (correct), no lug holes
classic - great rehaut, incorrect sollid bracelet, no etched crown (correct), lug holes
-
Also had a TW classic. Always wanted to drill out the lugs hole to accept gen pins, but the holes are too close to the top edge, unlike gens. Always a dead giveaway, even though dial print, weight and rehaut are close to real specs.
Wow never noticed this, thanks for pointing it out.
-
Wow that seems like a good price for the gen. Do they have the swiss 7750 in them or some other moveoment?
-
I think there is nickel in the SS used. I know the SS used in genuine R*l*x watches have a higher nickel content.
My sister had problems with earrings years ago too, and has said she's had problems in the summer time with some metals as well.
Definitely... lots of watches to fill that void.
Dumping money on watches is still probably cheaper!

slow down and don't buy anything yet; read here. There are no "true" swiss reps; all are made in China or taiwan. Look at the dealers we have on this site.
-
You could always pimp out and plate everything in gold. haha
-
IWC GST - paul has them now for $199

I just received TW Classic sub used from Pelotudo on the boards. The quality is significantly better than the current lot of ETA's. Is it "perfect". Nope. Can it use some mods? Sure. What rep. can't, I ask?
But, out the box it's real nice, especially considering what Craytonic said about the laser etching.
I think that it's the best overall value, in a bang for the buck way. You get good customer service, a heavy Folex, accurate crystal thickness, decent magnification (close to gen), finest rehaut...and...
according to Eddie Lee, made by OEM Rlx manufacturer (case/crystal) from 90's. (to me it matters not b/c it's a great watch).
Eddie has always been my favorite dealer so this is not calling him a liar or anything. But, it seems if the mfg made the case then, the CGs would be perfect now? Perhaps they lost those particular toolings or cut costs or something... ? Perhaps they upgraded and lost them. Don't know much about mfg process, but I bet lots of changes happen.

I am beginning to think it might be most accurate out there since there are no worries on the laser etching (didn't exist on that model). It never looks right to me on the new reps.
-
check eddies photo album; I don't think he has a pic of the TW classic in his gallery here (but I could be mistaken) or just PM him.
Yes luckyyy sells modern subs.
-
paste the info for the rest of us curious souls?
-
I would say the 2 not on your list
TW classic from Eddie Lee
MBW from luckyyy
-
Wow this is the worst crap ever, hopefully someone gets a laugh at my pitiful attempt:
Titled: An ode to my sub.
Oh I have the most perfect sub,
With it I can bathe in my tub.
Although with it time I do keep
The Asian movement belongs on the junk heap.
Thank goodness my re-haut is deep
from the stupid AD I heard nary a peep!
-
On my visa I believe I can get a "one-time number" for internet purchases.
Probably worth checking w/ your carrier
-
I remember the datemag on my MBW being stronger when I had it now that I look at those pics for a while.
-
its signed george...
Never heard of watchmaker 9 but wasn't there a guy named George a while back who distributed MBWs? I am only 50% on this so if you know better please call me out.
-
anyone tried moneybookers?
-
Here you go
Thanks!!!
-
The thing is Paul's pics show different pearl... maybe not as good mag...
ya, strange
-
wow, as they say "built to last"
-
It is much cheaper for me @ the grocier in cash than online or grocer w/o cash.
-
can you take one straight on of the date mag?

glad to see someone else made the jump![:)](https://rwg.cc/datastore/emoticons/emoticons/default_smile.png)
Have always loved my powerbooks and can't wait to upgrade in a year or so to the intel (best to let them sort out the bugs for a revision or two).
